Can Noory pronounce anything correctly?

No
No

Birdie

"Why priests? Why are priests becoming exorcists? Is it religious in nature?"
Smh.

NoMoreNoory

Joorch pronounces 'dioceses'...'die-ossuseeze'

NoMoreNoory

'What makes a good priest a good exorcist, as opposed to another priest who is not?'

yumyumtree

This sounds almost like The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis.

Demons have a hierarchy evidently. If the demon does well, he gets a promotion.

Ok ok, I know it's Noory, being his usual cringe-inducing self, but I find the guest and his stories fascinating.

If only Art was doing the interview.

Art, why have you forsaken us??

*Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!*
Ouija Boards!!!! It took him an hour, but he got there. Well done, Joorchie!

The guest 'met' Judas Iscariot. Joorch would like to interrogate him.
'South of the Rockies, it's Judas. Heyyy, Jude! Haw are yewwww? How did you get into betrayal in the first place? Of all the people you've betrayed......'

Quote from: MV on February 24, 2014, 12:20:03 PMAs a result, GoDaddy has billed me $50 to "process" this "legal inquiry".  These idiots (Gaiam) have now cost me money through their abuse of the DMCA process.

That's 5 months worth of Gaiam subscriptions  >:(

No one wants to buy their product (110% because of Gnoory) so they they come up with this shikanery to pay the bills. Too bad for them we're the only ones to have ever shared the video. Dear Gaiam, make sure you have a flashlight (Jorch has his ready) & some candles for when the power gets cut.

Birdie

Did I hear Jorch ask if demons hide in closets before possessing someone? I was making coffee and stepped out of the room for a second, but I swear that is what I heard him ask.

smithy

I missed that. His voice is putting me to sleep... and he's repeating his question all over again: What is your scariest experience?

Guest: I am not scared, just like I told you at the start of the show. Duh!

George: You're going to be a repeat guest, whether you know it or not.

Art Bell, COME BACK!!!

Scully

Such a fascinating subject.  Such a doofus host stumbling through it.

I agree with Coaster's post that George seemed in high spirits.  My thoughts when listening were just how cheerful Noory always gets when the subject matter is terribly sad/gruesome/frightening.  I could just hear how Art would have been responding if dealing with the same topic.

I noted, too, the deafening silence when George happily told the guest he would be coming back lots whether he knew it or not.

Gary of 'Pandemic' book fame was telling Georgie a fun fact about vaccines.  Because immunizations are decreasing in the U.S., due no doubt in part to anti-vaccine fear mongering by certain talk show hosts with bad mustaches and pizza roll phobias, we in America are moving backwards to 1950 levels of diseases, with the chance polio can make a comeback. Shortly thereafter, George had a break coming up so being the deeply thoughtful person he is, Georgie requested listeners to call in with their vaccine horror stories.  I must be the only one who sees a big red flashing sign over sNooron's head that reads REALITY DISCONNECTED.

Ole Snoorge didn't reply to my email tonight. I asked him if he was drunk. The slurred speech was pretty apparent. More so than usual. He was really fumbling around for words.

Perfect description.  Adam Blai came across as credible and serious, and in this high tech/anything goes/no right and wrong/creep fest of a world we live in I can appreciate somebody ready to get down to the nitty gritty of basic evil.  Alas, George is at the helm and nothing will be discussed in detail.  Twice he told George that turning an exorcism into reality tv was unethical, to which I'm sure George remains befuddled.  Favorite line from Mr. Blai: "Suicide is not a guaranteed damnation, buts it's a really good shot at it."  Gary Ridenour on...vitamins...or flu shots...I think...or something.

I made the mistake of listening to the first few minutes last night.  Force of habit, I guess, after an excellent weekend of Knapp.  Of course, the lead-off news story was about the unfortunate children stricken with the polio-like disease.   ::)  It was quick flip of the off switch and head elsewhere for me.  I'll try not to make the same mistake tonight.  No "coming back lots" for me.

Izintit?

I heard the last few minutes of the show and George took a call saying "Hello Steven, blah blah" to wich the caller replied "My name is Steve" and continued to ask his question of the guest while George muttered someting.Did anyone hear what George muttered? Just wondering.

Done.

George sounded like he was on something last night. Maybe he had a hot broad in his lap.

Speaking of George, I recently tried the drug Armodafinil for its nootropic effects. It had a hellish, hellish effect on me and â€" rather than the extreme focus factor everyone raves about â€" made me sort of spacey and grumpy all day.

I actually drifted off in the middle of interviewing someone for a story â€" not to sleep, but it was like my mind went wandering down a tunnel somewhere to occupy itself with 9,000 other thoughts. I had to jolt back to life and ask the woman to repeat her last paragraph or whatever.

But that drug is usually prescribed to people who work night shifts. Seriously, I wondered if that's what George has been taking that's made him so disconnected.

And maybe last night he was off of it. And on something more fun.

Noory: "How many priests qualified for exorcism are there in the USA?"

Blai: "Ballpark... 25 to 40."

Noory: "That's almost one for every two states."

I am SO outraged that this happened ... I have refrained from being rude about George and his crew; but must admit -- this is bringing some thoughts to the front of my mind .....  and don't know how much longer I will be able to hold back ...

I used to listen to CBS Radio Mystery Theatre back in the 70s. Some people I know didnt like it, but I thought that is was pretty high quality. They had some pretty big names performers, Tammy Grimes for example. I seem to remember that Richard Widmark was in some of them too. A lot of the stories were from classic writers. I remember Therese Racquin by Balzac, for example. I still think of some of those, the couple with the foundling baby that never grew, for instance.
There are lots of apps where one can listen (or download and listen) to old time radio programs including RMT up to the end in the 70's. Archive.org also has a bunch available. Another "modern" program out of Canada is called "Nightfall" and is pretty good. While the quality often gets worse the older the show is most all of them are more interesting the current entity called C2C these days. And are interesting for nostalgia as well as for good acting and production value.

Jeez.  I haven't experienced this much peer pressure since junior high.  Waterboard me, for Christ’s sake.  Done.
