While I enjoy as much as anyone else, current music, as well, as music I grew up listening too (and now have access to virually all of it), sometimes I'll download entire discography collections of famous artists - for example, every Elvis, or Frank Sinatra, and so on, resulting in much more music I could ever listen to, but know that I have it for any occasion (including background music for slideshows and videos). Again, e.g., I have every piece of music written for organ by Bach - I love Bach organ music! One time, I came across collections of "Billboard's Top 100" for every year from the 50's through fairly recent years - so you can imagine, lots of famous songs. I've discovered Doris Day had a beatiful voice! She did a nice rendition of "Over The Rainbow."

Anyways, I could go on, but this is the Snoron Sucks forum... but sometimes it's nice to have a pleasant diversion occasionally. My present musical obsession is Josh Groban - I have everything he's ever recorded.

So, as a final note (pun intended), here is the most beautiful rendition of Over he Rainbow I've ever heard... even The Professor agreed (so it must be true!) It is one of my favorite songs of all time, though I'm sure there's some pathology-related explanation, having eagerly awaited the yearly showing on CBS of "The Wizard of Oz" as a child.

Here then, Over The Rainbow by Celtic Woman (a cappella)

The Professor

Indeed, V, I even got in a big argument with my Mom, Barbara Streisand vs. Celtic Woman for who is a better singer...

their Somewhere Over the Rainbow is sung by angels....

Gumby, I have a request....can you get Noory and Tommy into the suit on the left in this photo...

Hey Prof did you get to see these yet? I worked my fingers to the bone making them...LOL!

Strip Tease Tommy for George Noory

Hula George and Tommy

Frys Girl

Sybil, you are the bomb. Sex bomb! You need to add the tags TOM DANHEISER to those. I'm sure Tommy wants to find himself.

Frys Girl

Noory on the Iranian protests/crackdown: "This will fester. It will not go away. That's my prediction." WOW! Fuck CNN and the "experts". This guy has it!

Maybe if Amadenajad played Noory over the intercoms in Iran, everyone would stop protesting and fall asleep.

Yes, I know I misspelled it. e.e;

hey gumby... i've noticed both times you posted a link to frys girl's thread, it didn't resolve correctly when clicked.  fixed those 2 posts for u.  when you posted that link, did you just place the link in your message and post it, or did you put any tags around the url?  should not need to place any tags.  just the url.

Thanks for catching that! I hadn't tested the links after I posted. Yes, I've been clicking on the "insert hyperlink" button then inserting the hyperink. I will just paste the link in from now on on. There are tons of good threads around here that need calling attention to! Thanks!

And crap, come to think of it, I've done it that way in all of my previous posts that I've put links into. Oh well...

So let's try this as a test...I came across just now a recent thread posted by Dixie Butcher who is one of my favorite posters over here. I LOVE to read her work, In fact, it was me over at the other place, TROLL HELL, who would copy and paste some of her longer rants (always posting a credit, someone was doing it also, but not leaving a credit to Dix) in order to break up the ugly constipation caused by the huge influx of new trolls after they deleted the old thread (WHY did they do that? Haha...so we would all end of here and bring all the attention to where it truly belongs!). Give 'em HELL, Dixie:

Looks like the usual handful of friends (one hand) posted then even they gave up!
That place will put you to sleep faster than his show will!
Yawn fest.

This is fascinating information. I really have no idea how the business end of radio works, but this goes a long way in explaining how GN is able to keep his job. I'm just a consumer (listener) who has this really na?ve idea that one has to be an excellent host in order to get and then keep a nationally-syndicated talk show. That's obviously not the case. If this was written by Rollye James, kudos to her -- I have learned a great deal. I always enjoyed when she used to fill in for Art. Plus, she used to do Saturday or Sunday (can't remember which) nights on a relatively permanent basis and I considered her to be a true professional. She was able to quickly forge connections with both her guests and with callers and always seemed to get the best out of them -- even when the guest or caller wasn't all that great. After reading this I visited her website and noticed that she has some show downloads available; I think I'll listen to a few of them so I can remember what it's like to hear a real professional at work. (I like Ian and George Knapp as well, so don't take that last statement the wrong way.)

Sadly, this reflects the overall sad state of affairs in this country, especially in corporations.  Expertise and exceptional talent take a back seat to political (family, friends) connections and mediocrity.  If you are just smart enough to do the job, and just dumb enough not to challenge management - voila! the perfect candidate.  Unfortunately young people are still raised in this country believing that excellence will be rewarded.

Ouch...I don't think there's anything I can say that would sting worse than the reality of the link you posted. That's pitiful..I've had LJ communities with more activity than that.

Ok how's this, Sparky....

Looks like an emaciated George and Tommy after Clear Channel
"let them go" for destroying everything in sight and giving them a real bad name.
So this is a picture of the two of them snapped with a John Titor Future-Rama
Camera, at their first job interview in George's next career-move, Hollywood
Movie Star!

We knew you would make it someday George! Now grab that mop
over there and get busy!

ed. note:
The image was pretty small dammit so there be some fat pixels poppin
around...or maybe it was trying to fit Tommy's neck into the head-bib?

,. . .If excellence is rewarded, don't let them listen between 10:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. Pacific Time., that will crush the pursuit of it.. .. .

while i do believe true excellence is rewarded, i believe you're 70% right in what you said here.  too often, mediocrity wins the day at work.

Ohell, meant to say hello to any and all here at the moment.

Am just catching up here to see if there's any tidbits in past pages that I need to respond to.

I've almost got the avatar thing, thanks for the previous tip.
