i have changed the TOS for the third time today, as follows:

coastgab.com will reveal your IP address only in the event of a court order compelling us to do so.  Emails sent by somebody with a scary title from a tall building will not suffice.

i replaced "identity" with "IP address" for obvious reasons.

Now, it has come to my attention (in a parallel universe of course) that George Noory tried to get a Hollywood gig way back when...yes this is true (alien universe), and he went up against none other than Mr. Rutger Hauer himself, trying out for the part of Roy Batty in Blade Runner. I actually have the audition stills...

So hold on to your assess and check this out! Pictured here are the two critical scenes he auditioned for. Of course, he DID NOT get the part...I would say for OBVIOUS reasons...eeeewwww. I also understand that George tried to stiff Rutger on a lunch tab and Rutger beat the living rat-snot out of him. GO Rutger! MY HERO!

Smoky - ya gotta believe me, I'm not taking sides here, but just analyzing the situation as, what I like to feel, an impartial observer. That having been said...

The TOS of the overwhelming majority of forums have similar "boilerplate" language. This is just fact, whether you or I like it, or agree with it. It's meant to protect the site owner, and to inform any members as to what MIGHT happen.

The sad truth is, almost ANYONE can sue ANYODY for just about ANYTHING. However, in reality most people don't. In most cases, an attorney will not take a case (even though many are snakes) unless they think they can win, because, in many states, if not most states, frivilous lawsuits are thrown out "on their merits" (or lack of them) by the judge before any trial takes place. People who file frivilous lawsuits can also be held liable and have to pay the defendants legal fees - though this is not applied as often as it should. So sometimes, if not many times, it unjustly costs you money to defend yourself, even when the suit has no merit.

The bar is set very high to obtain, through legal means, your name attached to your IP address. As you must know, ALL forums allow the site admin to see ALL posters' IP addresses. The names and other data can only come from the ISP for that IP address, and only by court order or warrant from a legally authorized government agency. These are facts. Names from IP addresses cannot be divulged simply because someone files a lawsuit. A judge would have to find merit. Even anonymous proxies, located elsewhere in the world, can be "persuaded" if not outright obliged under international law, to hand over certain private information.

So, as I see it, the low-down is this: there is NOWHERE in the world you can "hide" when posting on the web. Even were you to go to an internet cafe, or public library here in the US, and use proxies, there is always the chance that a security camera may have caught your image, and recorded it for posterity, should the jack-booted government thugs REALLY want to track you down.

Have I posted things I wish I hadn't on occasion? You betchya. Can I always go back and delete them? Nope. Can I usually go back and MODIFY them? Yup - simply click modify, delete the contents, and place 3 periods in the posts (posts almost always require a minimum amount of characters)... this usually takes care of the problem. Can I always MODIFY my posts? Nope - some forums don't allow it at all, some allow modifications for 24 hours (or some arbitrary time limit), and some, maybe even most that I'm involved with, allow me to modify anytime. Your mileage may vary.

So........ if I say that Obama is a fucktard Marxist/Statist president, who is guiding this country toward socialism and financial ruin, am I worried? Nope.

If I say that George Snoron is a fucktard radio host, who is guiding Coast to Coast toward radio ruin and destruction, am I worried? Nope.

The only time I'd worry is if one advocated violence (or other heinous act) against another person or entity. But none of us here are or would do that.

So, in conclusion, don't sweat the small stuff. Obama is an imbecilic, community organizer buffoon, with Marxist tendencies, and Joe Biden, who use the be the dumbest man in the Senate, is now the dumbest Vice President who ever lived. I'll stand by that, and I'm not worried about saying it.

Similarly, George Snoory is a horrible radio post, and might be Tommy's Bologa Pony, Fudge-Packin', Butt Pirate. I'm not worried about saying that either.

So I say, we all imbibe a few adult beverages, and let's get back to bashing the Snoron, or whatever else we feel like discussing. Gumby, you know from "the other place" you made me laugh, and said things I wish I could even dream of saying. And Smoky, you seem like a funny bloke too - but maybe sometimes (what seems to me anyways) small shit gets in the way of an otherwise, good time.

There's a mathematical equation that describes the situation.

It's known as Gumby's n-dimentional law of satirical  slap-down, where the inverse square of the satire is equal to the logarithmic functional square of the hyper tangent of suck. In other words, the more Noory SUCKS, the funnier it gets around here, and since there's literally NO END to how much he sucks, this place just might break the orbital confines and proceed into the interstellar universe.
