President Donald J. Trump

People have asked that question about Obama. My understanding is he was investigating it, notified Trump of parts personally involving him, planned public and clandestine countermeasures and tried to not let it disrupt the election process .

I think it also important to keep in mind the last ditch Executive Orders, findings, and appointments Obama put in. New stuff allowing things (NSA, regulatory agencies, military operations, etc.? Setting traps and leaks and discord.

The election was November 8th. Flynn's phone calls were December 29. What part of the election process would prosecuting a crime have impacted?

Point taken but I didn't believe that pizza stuff anyway.
I know that you didn't.  It was just the perfect time to bring up pizzagate again.

*Pizzagate will never get old for me.   :D

Here is the case for Camp 2: If any of these contacts with the Russians rose to the level of criminal activity, they all occurred while Obama was President. Why did he not take action on them?  Selective leaks are being used to derail any progress by Trump and his cabinet.

Sooner or later, we will never have an honest person want to serve this country because of the political minefields.

Couldn't agree with you more, Grav.  Yes and isn't it funny that we usually see these leaks during Republican administrations.  Time to drain the swamp, indeed.  The Dems seems to put party above country while the Republicans tend to put the country over party.  Their willingness to compromise with the Democrats has been quite evident over the years but do the Democrats wish to do the same?  Hell no.  It is their way or the highway.

I have no issues with an investigation. I don't think it rises to the level of a special prosecutor until and if the investigation uncovers evidence of a crime.

I do think these constant leaks might be up to the level where the IG or a special prosecutor should be involved.

On the topic of whistleblower ls - Remember, even Snowden knew what he did was wrong and to some degree was willing to accept the consequences of his actions.

I agree with all of this.  There have always been leaks even some orchestrated by the leakees. Many honest people haven't been willing to put up with close scrutiny. Colin Powell comes to mind. But still, serious accusations should be investigated.

How big a deal would this be if Trump invited an investigation, including his tax returns, to quickly resolve the questions?

The hacks

Never conclusively tied to Russia. They're now saying that the only way Russia "influenced" the election was though internet trolls.  ::) ;D

The only jarring moment in the speech for me was when Trump self-congratulated on setting a record for the applause for that devastated war widow. One of the few off teleprompter things he said

Right, but you understand Trump orchestated/led/prolonged that applause and not by accident, was playing-it-up for "his people" and if not absolutely premeditatedly he realized mid way what he could milk out of the situation -- exactly the sound-bite and media-event he needed to _distract_ (by slight-of-hand showmanship) and to alt-"spotlight" exactly what he wanted all to remember and "take away" from the evening. Trump is an attention/media whore and without scruples to boot. He exploited her and her broken hearted grief for everything, every second he could, plus then an extra 30 seconds on top of it just to be sure (via poor-taste measure) that the moment had been sucked absolutely dust bone dry.

You were almost cuddling up, but had to throw in the tax returns...

If tax returns are going to be a condition of employment, then legislation should be passed to make disclosure mandatory. Until then, I trust in the fact that if there was anything illegal in Trump's tax returns, that the IRS would have already taken appropriate action.

The only proof I have seen of foreign connections has been related to Hillary Clinton.

Not really. I actually think you're a disgusting human being to try to make political hay out of a dead Navy SEAL and his grieving widow. Whether I'd actually light you on fire....meh.  :-\

Maybe Trump is faultless. Maybe not. Seems pretty clear he's hiding something. There's a video clip somewhere of him absolutely guaranteeing he would release his taxes if he ran for office. Too sleepy to look for it.

Let's put tax returns aside and cuddle anyway. They do say Politics make strange bedfellows

While she was Secretary of State? I think that was her job. During the campaign? Reply to this and you have the last word on the subject. Now can we cuddle?

P.s. I notice you used Wikileaks  ;)

I used wikileaks, yes.

1. It wasn't leaked classified.
2. All of the podesta emails were published, it wasn't a selective leak only disclosing what they wanted to leak.
3. Hillary is evil.

Then please do wake up soon MD, because it was your President, Donald Trump, not me, who consciously and deliberately made "political hay out of a dead Navy SEAL and his grieving widow." That's why he invited her in the first place. She was not there by accident. Donny had his way with her -- and that's a fact. He *raped* her grieving person, in public, before The Entire World, for everything he possibly could. It _is_ dispicable and dasterdly, but not my doing.

Just stop it! You know damn well that Obama would've done the exact same thing and you all would've dropped to your knees and sucked his big, black cock for it. And that makes you the most disgusting kind of hypocrite there is. Go high, indeed! Go fuck yourself!  ::)

Truth hurts sometimes, like when you learn you've been dupt, made a sucker of, exploited for all you're worth. Or did you think she was the first?

Give it a rest.  She agreed to be there so stop with this nonsense.  Obama did his share of "exploiting" during his State of The Union speeches.
