Here is the case for Camp 2: If any of these contacts with the Russians rose to the level of criminal activity, they all occurred while Obama was President. Why did he not take action on them?  Selective leaks are being used to derail any progress by Trump and his cabinet.

Sooner or later, we will never have an honest person want to serve this country because of the political minefields.

I have no issues with an investigation. I don't think it rises to the level of a special prosecutor until and if the investigation uncovers evidence of a crime.

I do think these constant leaks might be up to the level where the IG or a special prosecutor should be involved.

On the topic of whistleblower ls - Remember, even Snowden knew what he did was wrong and to some degree was willing to accept the consequences of his actions.

I agree with all of this.  There have always been leaks even some orchestrated by the leakees. Many honest people haven't been willing to put up with close scrutiny. Colin Powell comes to mind. But still, serious accusations should be investigated.

If tax returns are going to be a condition of employment, then legislation should be passed to make disclosure mandatory. Until then, I trust in the fact that if there was anything illegal in Trump's tax returns, that the IRS would have already taken appropriate action.
