I am never good with someone that has a security clearance leaking classified information. That is not a whistleblower. For one thing, none of this had been taken to a conclusion. The leaks concerning Flynn divulged the fact that we were monitoring and recording another country's ambassador and recording a US citizen. It is yet to be seen whether or not a warrant was in place allowing them to legally record a conversation with a US citizen.

That leak alerted the Russians to the fact that we were monitoring communications with the Russians. The latest one regarding Sessions alerted the Russians to the fact that we were tracking their movements.

When you get a security clearance you willingly acknowledge that you are to protect classified under threat of imprisonment.

p.s. There is no evidence of a crime to date except the release of classified information.

I think it also important to keep in mind the last ditch Executive Orders, findings, and appointments Obama put in. New stuff allowing things (NSA, regulatory agencies, military operations, etc.? Setting traps and leaks and discord.

I have no issues with an investigation. I don't think it rises to the level of a special prosecutor until and if the investigation uncovers evidence of a crime.

I do think these constant leaks might be up to the level where the IG or a special prosecutor should be involved.

On the topic of whistleblower ls - Remember, even Snowden knew what he did was wrong and to some degree was willing to accept the consequences of his actions.

People have asked that question about Obama. My understanding is he was investigating it, notified Trump of parts personally involving him, planned public and clandestine countermeasures and tried to not let it disrupt the election process .
