Bella-Haven. It was an idea, and it was tons of fun. And now, it is over. Kaput, fini, closed and shuttered. After Wednesday, it was only a matter of time. No amount of kintsugi will help.

In my opinion, Nancy did not like this thread being derailed as it was throughout last night and early this morning.  It has the same feel as the hacking that was done in the chat room on Wednesday night ...

(I'm almost afraid to mention this, due to the Astrology bashing that was part of last night's rant, okay, I can hear you all say, its not ranting ... it's opinions ... except sometimes people expressing opinions do it in such a condescending way...

I'm going to assume that this was aimed at me as I think that I was the only one questioning astrology.  If I am the reason that Nancy quit, I am very sorry.  Understand that I flew into town on Friday night after a couple of weeks away.  I did not catch a single moment of Art Bell as I was unpacking and did not go to download what I missed.   When I realized the time, I stopped unpacking, went to the chat and started listening to the stream of Bella Haven.  Everybody was booted, there were a ton of people calling into the show, and I decided to go to bed.  Perhaps I should have went back in this thread and listened to Wednesdays show (something I still have not done) before posting anything about missing Rosegirl- but I am generally not somebody who cares if I am slightly offensive in my opinions (I know, not a very Bella thing to say- but people seem to appreciate "the Donald" for this quality...)

I was a regular in chat, and got to feel a connection to Zenman, Chefist and others.  This is not something that generally happens to me.  I was unaware that expressing doubt about astrology (something that I have never spent any time looking into) was a requirement to avoid being a hater.  Talking with the imam I openly expressed the same doubts and reservations.  He seemed to accept them where here it is called bashing?  Very interesting.

Anyhow, I apologize for polluting the thread and promise to steer clear of it.  To be honest, I am a little bit pissed off that the show should end and that people should think that I contributed to it's demise when I would like to have contributed to it's success... That is the reason that I placed my first call ever on one of the first nights of Bella Haven.  I hate the phone, but thought that I could help get them used to the technical side of answering calls.  I really wanted to see it succeed.

Cest La Vie... I was an idiot for getting caught up in it.  But before you go believing that I am a saboteur and a troll, remember that I chose to tune into Bella over MITD after returning from my trip.  That should say something about where I placed the show in importance.

AND White Crow went on and on writing a dissertation about the negatives of Astrology. 
As far as the chat-room ... the other night Wednesday was so creepy and vulgar ... you had nothing to do with it ... then the following night -- someone got moderator/op permission and literally kicked every user out -- making the chat impossible to enter ... some very fine peeps couldn't figure out why they were banned from there ....

The vast majority of people who have any substantial experience with Falkie have strongly negative opinions about him.  A discussion about making him a co-host in some podcast is going to attract that kind of traffic.  Not much anyone can do about that.

My parents were not from the hippy era, I was. You are correct, my parents were into every thing paranormal, I called into Bella-Haven and talked about my parents and called them "paranormal de-jour"
Meaning every six months or so they'd be into something new. Except astrology that was always something my mother had an unwavering interest in.
I was always a paranormal skeptic from a very young age, but equally as important to understand me, I truly enjoy the subject matter.

At times I'll start a bebunking conversation, but alway try to be respectful.
Mostly I go with the flow and listen quietly and hope to hear something new and creative.

I'm sorry, but I just started reading this thread the last couple of days, and have not listened to the show because of my work schedule.  Am I wrong, here but do you have to be "politically correct" to post in this thread, if so, look where you are at.  This is Bellgab. We are vaguely loveable and rough around the edges. 

Personally, I am just not into strict behavioral compliance in society or in a thread.  Let me give an example at an office.  There is a group of office workers and a couple of new employees are hired.  They are not a certain age, but they wear creative clothing, not the usual strict office attire.  The usual office behavior is to get into a group and talk about those folks and admonish them socially.  I hope this is not what is happening here. 

In this thread, Falkie and his following ventured into the thread.  Gasp!  Shazam!  How dare they!  Get over it already.  Folks on this forum must be free to enter into any thread and comment, if they are respectful.    Am I politically correct at all times, NO!  I show respect, but I do believe in the freedom to be.

No-one impersonated you ... it was my assumption your folks were of the Hippy era ... I remember from way back  [long before Bella-Haven], you mentioning your folks enjoying the paranormal and I remember your mom posting a bit here and there  ... when someone  mentions astrology, I tune in.  My whole point, initially was that I was somewhat hesitant to mention out-loud that i related to Nancy and did her chart and was going to do some comparisons ... 

I appreciate your honesty regarding all this ... i appreciate the folks who have apologized for derailing this thread with the Falkie stuff ... it just kicked my butt to see how sad Nancy was because of what happened to the Bella-Haven show and then her thread here.  I suppose my strong-headed Aries self came barreling through wanting to save her from any more hurt ... I am grateful for all the honesty that has come forward today --I feel it definitely is a beginning of healing  .... hopefully, Nancy and everyone else involved in this can feel the incredible love and respect that is being shown.
