This is one of my favorite Dave Edmunds songs. I generally don't like slow songs but this is lovely. I added my vocals to the mix on a tape and gave it to my wife when we just going out.  I sang background at a higher range.  My high Brian Wilson voice.  I'm a pretty good mimic.

The older you get, the harder it is to maintain, or hit that falsetto. Don't know if you ever had vocal training, but that is something that's well known in the field.     You're right though. It sucks.

I have to drink a lot of fluids before I do it now.    I probably won't be able to hit all of the notes in 5 or 6 years.  I can do a pretty good Roy Orbison too.  I like to sing In Dreams occasionally when I'm in my car just to stretch my vocal chords.
