A small skull was discovered during construction of a building(s?) on the Western Carolina campus which was assumed to be that of a child- until later a professor noticed that all the wisdom teeth were present.  The guest noted that the Cherokee migrated to the Carolina region from the Great Lakes.  When they arrived they noted maintained gardens but apparently no people present.  Eventually they discovered small people which emerged from the ground and tended the gardens by moonlight.  They referred to them as the moon people.

This host sucks!  He spent the first hour talking about the author's book and failed to say any of the following:

Explain what you mean by (insert book's subtitle here).
There's a lot of great pictures in the book.
There's a lot of great research in the book.
What's the most surprising/interesting/amazing thing you discovered when writing the book?
Is the book available on Amazon?

Never a good sign when Knapp has to read a passage from the guest's own book to help him remember.


Edit: Also, when taking shots at skeptics who are harsh due to a lack of any kind of objective data...it probably hurts your case when you don't even say why you are taking shots other than they don't believe you or ask too many questions.


BUT: This guest is a marketing genius. By building a business around having people talking to dead loved ones but inserting "I am not saying it is really them talking to dead loved ones" is a different take than most guests. Kind of cleanses his hands of it all to keep credibility. "I am not saying they are really talking to the dead...I am just saying thats what people are paying me money to help them do...Beats me!!"

Knapp: "Why couldn't it be hallucinations?"

Guest: "Ummmmm...because its NOT...but I doon't know if they are really speaking to the dead...I am open to any explanation except those that would eliminate them speaking to the dead!"

You would think premier would try to get knapp full time. I know he's happy being an investigative reporter for a local news channel in Vegas. But you would think having a national audience woul entice knapp. Premiere should be smart enough to realize that they lost 7 MILLION listners, under Noory. You would think they would back up the brinks truck to get more knapp. I think he could rebuild the large listner base, plus it would appease Bell. Art would probably not come back, and would even consider being a guest of his friend Knapp. Really it would do a lot to fix coast. Even Noory fans (all 3) like knapp, so very few listners would be lost due to transition. You would think premier would try to make this happen, even if they just got Knapp for more days it would go a long ways.

If Knapp can't or won't do it full-time, then they should offer the gig to Dave Schrader. Knapp and Schrader are the best two things C2C has going right now.

Even though some folks complain about him sounding like an NPR reject, I don't mind keeping Richard Syrett in rotation either. He's not bad at all as far as I'm concerned.

Eh, Lisa Garr... nothing against her personally, but I just cannot stomach that New Age/snake oil horse shit which is apparently her forte. I can't make it more than five minutes before shutting the radio off.

Knapp has a great thing going on in tv. i would hazard a guess that premier offered him the full time job prior to resigning noory, and he said no. so premier resigned noory. lucky us.

I'm guessing the Sunday night C2C gig is just a fun sideline for GK, and he has no interest in going full time on late night radio.  The genre has been squeezed dry over the years, and Knapp knows it's tough enough to fill one night a week with decent content.  And I doubt that PRN would pay what it would take to snare Knapp as a full-time host.  I'm also guessing Noory works pretty cheap and that C2C is particularly not high on the revenue scale for PRN.

I agree. Once in a while is ok. But it takes a special person to work a night-shift all the time. Some people like it of course, but many others don't because it reorders your life and you are living the reverse of most of your family/friends etc. I think Knapp is comfortable making money at his tv news job and doesn't mind a C2C show now and then. But not every night or as his full time gig.

So yes, that would be more entertaining. It is sad though, she seems very educated on the topics (sometimes to the point of being arrogant/talking over the guest like Ian did) but her topics just aren't for me.

Give her the tried and true benchmark of bigfoot. If you can make a bigfoot show sound interesting, you are golden in my book.
