On tonight's c2c, Noory apparently will be announcing the change of his "science advisor" from Hoagland to Robert Zimmerman.
Noory will have Zimmerman on tonight for "periodic Pluto updates" - but the problem is that c2c's time period is too early ending at 2AM PT, the first Pluto data won't be received until at least an hour later than that.
Hoagland on the other hand will start his marathon Pluto special at 3AM PT Tues morning and run for up to 6 hours on the Dark Matter network.
Noory blows it again...  8)

Yep, expat posted this earlier today:

Wonder if Dave will take any passive-aggressive swipes at Hoagland?

I expect the puppet master might try and feed him a couple of lines, though Dave would probably fluff them. Probably something to the effect of how good Z is compared to the other one, or something. The new boy must either have a high tolerance for idiocy or just needs the money to put up with all that garbage on a regular basis.

Either that or Noory just won't refer to Hoagland at all, as if nothing ever happened or was planned?
Noory conveniently is talking Friday night off, so no open lines for callers to ask what happened to Hoagland too...  8)

Robert Zimmerman about Hoagland:
QuoteAnd I must say it, for every minute I am on the air talking about the really exciting discoveries in real science, it will be one less minute they can waste talking about silly stuff like UFOs and ancient civilizations on the far side of the Moon. Without doubt this can only be a gain, for them, their audience, and society in general. http://behindtheblack.com/

are you implying Hoagland is some kind of (paid) agent to spew liberal propaganda pro-Obama on Coast, or something like that?

Robert Zimmerman about Hoagland:

He may do "real science" but he's apparently a nutcase in the political sense:

QuoteIf you have any doubts that the campaign by homosexuals and the government to destroy Christian businesses is not a bigoted attack on religious people, read this article.

I tried to click on his link and my browser put up a splash screen warning it contained malware, and advised me not to proceed.  It's good to know Zimmerman gets his information from such reputable sources.  Perhaps he will make a better C2C style replacement for Richard C. Hoagland than I thought.

Forcing Christian Churches to marry gays is stupid, and authoritarian.
I don't care if gays want to marry gays, or people want to marry dogs and horses, but we should not force a religion to do their marriage ceremony.
And obviously it is an attack against Christianity, because so far I haven't heard that the government forces Rabbis to marry gays in their temples, or Imams to marry gays in their mosques.
Seriously, if gays want a ceremony , why even bother with churches who are clearly against it. That's a bit like trolling the church really. Gays should just form their own damn religion, maybe call it Obamity, or something, or find another cult who marries gays.
I agree with Zimmerman here. Didn't read that article though.

Actually, it's not only an attack against Christianity, but also against the whole western civilization.
Liberalism is by its nature an authoritarian, anti-human ideology. That's why they attack everything that binds people together in groups: family, males, females (can't have that when we have trans-people) and in it's final consequence it will destroy humanity itself (can't have humans when we have post-humanism).

Please point out one Christian church that is now being required by the government to host a wedding ceremony for a same-sex couple.  One.

astroguy

1st article:  That is a wedding chapel, not a church.  It is a for-profit business and not a strictly religious - and therefore would be exempt - organization.  This is a public accommodation law/ordinance issue, not government infringing on a purely religious church:  "But the chapel is also registered as a for-profit business â€" not as a church or place of worship â€" and city officials said that means the owners must comply with a local nondiscrimination ordinance. That ordinance, passed last year, prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation, and it applies to housing, employment and public accommodation."

2nd article:  Scalia is ranting as usual and does not have an example of this taking place.

3rd article: I said "required by the government," and this is a case of people working within the church organization itself, not the local, city, state, nor federal government.  First sentence of the article: "A United Methodist pastor is facing a complaint under church law because he declined to officiate at a same-sex wedding."

4th article:  This is a bakery, not a church.  This has to do with public accommodation laws and ordinances, as in the first article you linked to, not marriage ceremonies in a particular location nor being performed by a religious leader in their role as said religious leader.

So again, please find one church where the state (read: some level of U.S. government, not church board/government/etc.) is forcing either (a) the non-profit purely religious church to hold a marriage ceremony, and/or (b) force the religious person in their role as a minister / religious leader within that organization to perform that ceremony.

nope. If you want to find what you need, do it yourself.
I already find it bad enought that bakery owners get sued for USD 135.000 and potentially lose their home because they refuse to bake a cake for some gays. They're probably Christians too, and if their believe is against it, they should not be forced. You don't need to be a pastor to have values.

I don't want to derail Steve's thread anymore, so I'll just say this last bit and leave it.  You stated: "Forcing Christian Churches to marry gays is stupid, and authoritarian."  The majority of your post where you said this was about wedding ceremonies where churches were being forced by the government to hold same-sex ceremonies.  A bit more was about politics.  I asked for evidence of this happening.  You linked to four news articles that I was lead to think would show this.  They do not.

Now you say I need to find the stories myself.  My contention is that they do not exist.  That it is an irrational fear propagated by a false sense of Christian Persecution that in reality makes real Christian persecution (e.g., being killed for their beliefs in countries in Africa and elsewhere) marginalized.  Therefore, because I do not think that churches in the U.S. being required by the government to marry anyone that they do not want to marry do not exist, if you are making that claim, you need to back it up with evidence.

Now you have changed it such that you don't like public accommodation non-discrimination laws / ordinances.  That is a separate issue.  Completely separate issue from a religious organization within the U.S. being required to do something that conflicts with their religion.  I have mixed feelings on the public accommodation issue that mainly fall along the slippery slope argument:  E.g., is a hospital a public accommodation? What if it's a hospital that is affiliated with a religious organization and therefore wants to only treat straight people who follow that religion?  They're the only hospital within 5 hours.  Should they be allowed to discriminate?  I don't think so.  But where do you draw the line between a hospital or a bakery?  I'm not sure, but that's a completely separate discussion, as I said, and one I won't comment on further.

Therefore, back to my original contention that this weird persecution complex is, well, weird, and it is not based in reality for the specific claim that religious organizations will be required to participate in the marriage ceremony in any way.  There does not seem to be any evidence of this being true.  Rather, the Christian Persecution complex seems to be rooted in the fact that Christians are starting to lose their favored status in some places and in some aspects of public life in the U.S. and be relegated to the same rules and policies that the rest of us have to deal with.

This is my guess.  Amazing how cold the guy can be about former "friends".  They just get banished from discourse like they never existed, as in the style of some old Roman emperors.

Heck even current so-called friends are treated with disregard, like when they're asked back after some long absence and George, after referring to them as "a great friend of the show" proceeds to ask "So, what have you been doing for the last five years?"

Luckily we've got bateman, who knows how to actually treat guests like they're real people.

great interview Bateman. Just got to listen to it and will say that you are good at you're job and doubt there will ever be a Bateman sucks thread.

It is interesting that the usual "civil rights" crowd who objects to government surveillance, and especially free speech infringement is almost always silent with regard to the 2nd Amendment, if its a Church or Christian who has rights infringed, or aren't defending even things like the Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia....but hey, A-Ok for a Muslim bakery to refuse to make a cake for homosexuals, fine for illegal aliens or "youths" or "anarchist" to march, block traffic, loot, and burn, or just perfect for an illegal alien previously convicted of crimes to be released (and to rape or shoot another person,) and so on. Because we need to protect THEIR rights. And not "offend" anybody's sensibilities, so must change our language or even our laws.
---> send to politics thread
I like Bateman's show. Just need more. What about that hour long short show? Any release date? The RCH show was hilarious. I really wonder what is going on over at C2C now that Tommy has been "sick" and absent for awhile and long-time guests fleeing. I hope Bateman is the weekend guest (and fill-in if Art is ill or on vacation) for MITD, even if it just like his show and no callers but guest.

ps: this guy's blog at WP and his site is usually pretty good on legal issues.

Who will be the first lawyer to figure out a way for a defamation suit on behalf of a homosexual (or better yet figure a way for a class action) against the Catholic Church or Southern Baptist Convention for reading passages from the Bible? Or a publisher due to "hate." Deep pockets..... ;)
