Richard was definitely the adult in that situation with Noory. He wanted to have a situation where everyone could promote others shows. A lot of podcast/radio shows do this and it works out for all parties. Instead Dave wants to be a weasel.

What's with Dave being co dependent on Tommy. He takes that dude everywhere and lets him make all the decisions. Also why would Tommy/Dave be so upset about having the network spend $175.
Dave spends more than that in falkies glasses. It's such an odd situation.

Hoagland presented himself well and avoided going off the rails. I think if he continues this his show will be dam good.

A great show with Hoagland. Bateman seems to have a bit of rapport with him, which stops the old boy being such a pretentious tool. Interesting to hear the sinister role played by Dark Lord Danheiser in all of this. It made me more optimistic for the solo show, because he sounded much more amusing and engaging than he has sounded for a while. Maybe the break with Coast has given him a new lease of life and he can start being himself now he knows that he has Art in his corner. I hope the new show is more than just Hoagie's space buddies, though, and he goes into areas that we may not normally associate with him. That's my big gripe with Knapp, that he is too narrow in the subjects he covers.

Anyway, good job.

I am significantly more intimately involved with this than Richard.  Everything is tomorrow.  Practically nothing is being done Wednesday.  That Richard would be doing this Wednesday does not make sense, for all the hoopla will be over except for a basic press conference, of which there will be many more in the coming weeks.

From what I just heard on Dark City, RCH will be doing his program on Tuesday at 6am. Unless it has changed again, which is entirely possible.

He's his handler. The only reason this is not obvious to anyone is that most people do not know what a handler actually does.

The network allocates a budget. Anything left over, the show keeps. "The network" didn't pay the $175--it came out of the producer's own pocket. He would have kept that $175 for his own purposes, if not for Richard's surprise purposes.

It's really not that odd when one realizes that Richard Hoagland has been tied to their necks since they took over the show. To his face and on the air, they treated him as their best friend--because he was part of their meal ticket. They couldn't fire him, obviously.

When people are surprised, they reveal their true selves. When George was suddenly on the spot, and was given the opportunity to ask for anything he wanted, what's the first thing his mind came up with?

Totally agree with all of this. Maybe this is why Hoagland was snippy with Howard Hughes some weeks ago, this Pluto drama was going down and he couldn't say anything. It's obviously still bothering him a bit.

Hoagland has been entertaining in past appearances, so I'm choosing to be optimistic about his new show. I'd LOVE to hear Richard have an opposing viewpoint on his own show- just to see how he handles it.

As for our humble host, bateman, there is certainly a respect I sense coming from RCH. This wasn't the time or place to try and pin down any single point on the science. I agree that it was a better use of time to just let him go on. I certainly have issues with a lot of Richard's image "analysis" but these two hours were kept refreshing by avoiding a hard confrontation.

The question may be how this is any different than him talking with Noory. The simple answer is you can tell bateman is paying attention. His interjections aren't generic. If RCH misses something, he asks about it.

You also have to admit: some of Richard's ideas could be cool materials for the X-Files. Or at least talking points for the (hopefully resurrected on screen) Lone Gunmen.

I guess I was not paying full attention listening while the interview was live on that radio show with the 2 girls.
Hoagland is of course a total hoaxer, but also an entertaining storyteller, so if Coast really lost him for good over 175 bucks and Jorch/Tom overestimating their own importance (like as if Hoagland had no other place to go...), I imagine Jorch and Dannheiser are now throwing hot pizza rolls at each other, or something like it. Because Hoagland sure was a fan favorite of many listeners.
I just hope Hoagland will shut up about praising Obama/Liberals and politics in general.

That reminds me. Can anyone remember what Hoagland's theory about Old Navy was? I remember he mentioned it once to Art when he retired (again) and were doing their last show together, and he was recalling it as a particularly memorable show but never mentioned any more about it. It has bugged me off and on ever since.
