Well thank yeewww. I think there needs to be a bit of suspension of disbelief in this genre though, so while I challenge guests, I don't want to beat them over the head trying to debunk every single sentence - I'm not Michael Shermer. I take them to task when I feel the need. Vaccines for example, is something I won't let guests prattle on about - I won't do medical nutjobbery.

As far as outtakes, I wouldn't want to embarrass the guests. There are a couple that I've heard on other shows who were alright - they just weren't a good fit for me.

Good point on both. If you allow 'too much' medical quackery or severe conspiracy (911, the Jeeews, etc) you risk more mainstream guests coming on and if you broadcast bad outtakes (when guests were drunk or simply not on their game) you risk even more crazy guests not coming on.

I caught the last 45 minutes of it.  Sooo the interviewer becomes the interviewee. It was good. Once I get some more time I will listen to the whole show.

Also I just wanted to say one of the things about your show that I like is how you keep the guest, no matter how esoteric on their tangent they become, you keep the conversation easily understandable while at the same time allowing it to go off to creative realms. I'm not eloquent so it is difficult for me to explain.

I'm still trying to get through all the shows; I haven't listened to a dull moment yet.

Couple thousand, but nowhere near 20. I think his Telos setup must make up the bulk of the cost. What you see in the pic is an Allen & Heath compact broadcast mixer, a Furman power conditioner and a DBX 286s preamp/processor. I was gonna go for a Symetrix 528E, but they're really overpriced new, and used they have all kinds of gremlins in them like old British cars. I also have an Orban 787A, which is a monster (has to be 25 lbs) and I haven't tested it thoroughly. If anything went wrong with either of those, it would be a pain to get them fixed, and who knows how long that would even take. Vintage gear is a bitch. What sold me on the 286s was this video:

RE320 has a brighter, higher output. RE27 does too, but it has this almost "digital" tone to it I really don't like - only way I can describe it. It sounds like a marginally better Heil PR40. The RE20 just has a nice neutral but warm sound. If you're trying to beef up low end, it responds really well to that. If you want brighter, I would say get the 320 or 27. No need to tweak a 20 for top end when the other mics are designed with that in mind.
