Well it's not Cockney...which is very difficult for many of us here in the US to understand, especially spoken quickly.  Hmmm, he has some Scottish twangs from time to time...as far as "classy"...no, this accent would not be one of the aristocracy that is for sure...

Really common sounding, to my ears, and the host was going 'oh my, we have royalty here!'. I don't think he was taking the piss either. I thought perhaps every British accent sounded the same, in the same way as you sometimes mistake us for Australians - a grievous insult, by the way, damn you all!!.

Nick Redfern comes from the West Midlands, where he would be called a 'Brummie', and they have quite a strong, rather comical accent. You can get even further down and end up in what is called the Black Country where the accent is even thicker and words like 'you' sound like 'yow', for instance. They're all bloody bumpkins to me anyway.

Well upon Rossy's prodding, I finally checked out Dark City.  Stayed up way too long through Art and Hoagie, and then listened to the Nick Redfern interview.  I always enjoy him.  Endorphins kicked in and I made the effort to catch Tyler Rogoway afterwards but I hit the wall.  Radio overdose.    These shows are so addictive.  I really enjoy Dark City so far.  Kudos Bateman!    I am now a fan.

That is why I find it funny when people make fun of Americans different accents, which generally are based on region. Over there, in such a small country, you have so many accents-  not just regional- even in the same city, depending on wealth/education, ethnicity, trade, etc.
