I always have to laugh when the host - whether it be Art Bell, George Noory, Ian Punnett, or in this case MV - gets agitated over sound quality, especially someone's phone.  Sure, better sound is better for the audience, but listening to them carp about it is pretty entertaining (as with Art Bell and his bi-annual bitching about having to change his clocks due to Daylight Savings Time).

Sredni's periodic blast of static was almost as good as injecting a Noory soundboard effect, and should be featured on other shows

It was a lot worse being on the skype call with him when it happened.  It got dumped quick on the podcast, but my ears are still itching. The one time it happened, I actually thought it was MV playing his EVP.

Hello, all!

I am glad that most people seemed to enjoy the show last night. GS and IB were great, and I am sure lots of people enjoyed poking fun at my accent. Why do you all find my pronunciation of the word 'router' so bloody amusing?  I feel a bit depressed that people seem to think that I am a nice guy now (I promise you, I am a despicable bastard), so I will have to say something heinous before too long, as that kind of reputation is one I want to to shake off as fast as possible. I think that static may have been due to the fact that I only changed to another internet provider a few days before, and they said that it needed over a week for things to 'adjust' properly, whatever that means. I hope it didn't spoil things too much, as I haven't listened to the show yet. A big 'thank you' should go to MV too for steering us newbies through it all; I hadn't realised what a good job he does with the show until I was a part of it myself, not that I would tell him that!

I hope some of you will have a go yourselves next time. It really is a lot of fun, and I think we all get a kick out of putting a voice to the posts. MV helps to get you used to things, and it all feels like a breeze once you get started, so you should all consider giving it a go. It really helps add to the BellGab experience to hear new people popping up and adding their own spin to things, so I hope you are brave and give it a shot.

I highly encourage members to volunteer to cohost. I had never even called in to a show until the 10/20 GabCast.  I dug through all of my crap and found a headset that was purchased 10 years ago and had a USB thingy on one end. I installed Skype on my PC, signed up, ran a loop back test to make the sure headset worked.  All of that was easy for me. 

To make sure I was ready, I skyped in to some pirate podcast on Monday night and became the
answer to some future trivia question.

I almost backed out when the show got rescheduled from Tuesday to Friday.  My main reason was that IB and SV then volunteered to be guests. If I would have backed out, it would have been my loss.  They turned out to be NOTHING like their online personas.

Cheftist compiled an outline for topics and sent them to MV. MV evidently chose to ignore all of Cheftists hard work.  When the show got rescheduled, I tried to pick some fresher topics that had come up since Monday. These became known as Gravity's Random Mental Meandorings. I may use that to start a blog. I think it is catchy.

MV makes everyone feel comfortable during the pre-show sound check. 

This whole thing took me way out of my comfort zone, and I am glad I did it.  I highly encourage the rest of you (well some of you) to take the leap and volunteer for a future show. Clothing is optional.

Absolutely. I felt very comfortable in his capable hands (hey now) and we all spoke for close to an hour before the show officially aired. It was a wonderful experience. I would love to hear more of my fellow Bellgabbers cohost.

Yeah, about that Sredni.  I'm hearing rumors about a connection of "Deflate-Gate" to an incident at the World Cup Tallywhacker Volleyball Tournament.

It is alleged that there was illegal use of Viagra.  The captain (you) of the "Jumpin' Johnsons" has been accused of allegedly administering Viagra to his team mates for effecting a "spiked" ball in such a manner that the ball surface is slightly punctured making the return volley less effective, giving your team the advantage and, subsequently, the win.

I fell asleep before the show went out-I had a long week, but listened to the podcast later. It went well, some interesting topics. Wish we knew more about the strange structure/planet/shopping mall that is crossing that star 1500 LY away.
