I just posted a blogpost

Thanks for posting that.

I think the difference (if there is one) between Hoagland's condos and the sedimentary rock photo are those little vertical 'pillars' between each slab.  They cannot be seen on NASA's photo until you zoom in close.  I wonder if those vertical things are natural?

Size reference -- shadow of the masthead on Curiosity. If these are condos they're for people about 1cm high.

astroguy

I seem to recall Hoagie explicitly saying that each floor is several feet tall.  He has his experts all workin' it out.

thats why i'm going with the theory its the ruins of a Martian Ant Farm  8)

I think he mentioned on the show that perhaps the Martians were smaller in size.  Or suggested that they could be, who knows.  1 cm though?

Here's the former Martian President, who made the mistake of coming to Earth for a visit:

It is as if Hoaxland has never had a basic geology course, or at the very least, he expects that most of his followers have not.  I am far from a geology expert, but all I see is a basic sedimentary rock formation that I could have identified after week 1 of Geology 101.

I think the real interesting thing here is that these formations indicate some serious water flow on Mars at some point in time, and that time not being very long in geological time, given that they are easily seen on the surface.

Here's my review of last night's train-crash. It does include the image of stratification that RCH says is an apartment block.

wow.  based on the number of comments, your blog gets a lot of traffic.  nicely done.

I don't know about anybody else, but for me, listening to Hogaland's repertoire of comic descriptions of what's going on in the the Universe is like taking two Valium's and falling asleep.

Sardondi

It's that arrogant finality about everything he says which drives me crazy about him. He's beyond arrogant.

Speaking of which, in this very thread chosenbygrace many months ago wrote what I thought was a brilliant post about Hoagland's "malignant narcissism". It nails Hoagland.

On a couple of occasions I used that post as evidence that chosen was not looney-tunes when I thought he was unfairly accused of things like "stupidity". However, after his most recent bout of offensive insanity, in which he himself unfairly attacked apparently everyone in the universe as being not only stupid themselves but evil, as well as being the willing tools of Satan to boot, I am done with that crazy guy. Even though I did so on grounds of free speech, intellectual fairness and on a plain dislike of even a virtual mob beatdown, I am sorry I ever tried to defend the offensive lunatic. It just goes to show - no good deed goes unpunished. May he find a home at ats or wherever he went.

To me it wasn't that as much as the super-aggressive (and definitely un-Jesus-like) animosity he displayed to anyone he thought was even remotely opposed to what he believed...or maybe that's what you're calling jesus-freakery.

ziznak

What happened to him anyways?  haven't seen him post since his last dispensation of the "bad news."  It's such a shame he was born into the wrong century... the inquisition would have loved him.

has anybody watched Mr Bolo tie/silver mullet's latest "documentary" CURIOSITY: Confirming Ancient Intelligence On Mars - Richard C. Hoagland LIVE?
NEW - STEALTH MISSION CURIOSITY: Confirming Ancient Intelligence On Mars - Richard C. Hoagland LIVE
Fast forward to about 1h39min for the good stuff. He manages to see a buried missile, millionaire's desert getaway, a water pump, part of the Titanic and a child's shoe on mars!

The usually-moronic youtube commenters (for the most part)weren't even buying it. some gems:
"Just starting the video. I have to admit the women doing the intro is a milf and a half"(referring to Robin Falkov)

"I made the insane mistake of buying hoagland's dark mission book for £20! It was in waterstone's sitting next to factual books about space : S. Its the only book I've actually wanted to burn - preferably with an ancient martian heat ray if such a thing existed"

For anyone who is interested:

I have just written my latest gut-wrenching Interpose Mission post on Richard C. Hoagland... the topic is: "The Message of Cydonia."

I was inspired to register on this site because of Expats and Stuart's web sites; a much needed antidote to the delusions that R (don't forget the C) H, has been cashing in....oops, informing the public for too long. I suppose the answer is "Well, why listen to the idiot?". I should add that I'm in the UK and occasionally listen C2C when someone gets around to posting the show on youtube. I can't justify listening to it live.

Seriously; are there any legal means to call Hoaglands bluff? Sure, he's not the only charaltan who has been and continues to exploit the simple, the uneducated, and guilible. But, the worrying thing, is that almost all the modern snake oil salesmen and women (some have pet big cats! ;)) seem to have a sanctuary on C2C. Is there a mutually assured ego massage palour where they know it's all a sham, but they know it's mutually damaging to point out the emporer isn't in fact wearing a magic cloak?

Why do I listen to the idiot(s)? Because it assures me I'm sane I guess!

Can the experts on here manage to get in on the calls of C2C? Obviously if you tell the producer you actually know what you're talking about, you won't get past first base, but if you pretend to be some nutjob who posts on YT who is doing 'work' or 'research' (Read: reposting yet another vid about the Earth being smashed by Nibiru) and blocks anyone who contradicts your bullshit (You know the ones!); you might get on and then of course gradually alter the pitch of the question...You know, If that was live I'd pay to hear Hoagland climbing in the hole that has just opened up. ;D

expat

I can cite 2 examples of sane people doing just what you say, and how RCH dealt with them.

On 25th January 2010, He told an outright lie, stating that the epicenter of the Port-au-Prince earthquake was at 19.5° N latitude. Later, a caller pointed out that the latitude was 18.5. In actual fact the exact coordinates of the epicenter were 18°30'N, 72°38'W. Hoagland retorted "I was thinking of geodetic latitude â€" not geographic â€" the latitudes change because the Earth is not a perfect sphere, it's an oblate spheroid."

This is, of course, utter balderdash, although it's evidence that the Hoag is pretty quick on his feet in debate. The normally referenced latitudes are geodetic. The other type is geocentric -- less than geodetic by about seven minutes of arc at that latitude.

On 2nd April, a caller got through to point out that it is now certain that Comet Elenin is not a spaceship, as RCH had stated in two conferences. Hoagland LITERALLY SHOUTED HIM DOWN with these words:

"I said it was a probe...I never said it was a spaceship. I said it could be a time capsule. It could be a probe. It could be a chunk of rock directed on an intelligent course. I never said it was a spaceship."

He may have used the word "spacecraft" rather than "spaceship" in the conferences, possibly making him technically correct. But what a bully, eh?

It goes without saying that, in both cases, Snoory protected his "science adviser" by not allowing any comeback from the callers.

And then there was the famous time when I got through to criticize Mike Bara, only to be cut off by Tommy Danheiser. Bara just said I was crazy, and Snoory believed him.

Loved the last podcast (sorry - off topic).

Thanks for remembering the dickie claimed that each one of these structures is many feet high.  I was preparing for the announcement that Martians were actually very, very, very tiny in stature!!

I did remember him explicitly telling JBW to blow up the photo to 150% and that doing so would not pixelate the photo at all but would allow for greater detail. :)

This is a hallmark of both Hoagland and Bara.  In fact, Bara wrote a lovely li'l almost 100% wrong primer on "Image Enhancement 101" where he claims you can get more out of an image than was recorded.  I refuse to link to it directly, so I'll just post the URL without the http part and an extra space or two:  www. enterprisemission.com/ image101.htm .

Well delusional or not, Richard SEE Hoagland has obviously been left on the back foot as far as proper scientific science, leaning towards science is concerned. Behold!! I invite peer reveue from all worthy laypeople and scientists alike..naturally to get the best from the original NASA schill (I hope that's the correct spelling) offering, the image has been slightly enhanced to bring out the original artifacts. It goes without saying that I fully expect the debunkers to mock and ridicule my team of scamm...I mean scientists' work and research. I'm confident however that I have enough disci...I mean fellow troothers, to support my valuble work....I mean mortgage and website rental.  :)

I made a separate thread for this, but I should probably post it here, too.  This is not a hugely common topic on C2C, but I found over 30 hrs of it in my ~20-year archive of episodes (211.3 GB at last count!).  It's such a monumental topic (ha!) that I'm splitting it into two podcast episodes.

Episode 59, The Face on Mars, Part 1 was released last night.  With 8 C2C clips, most of them Hoagland.  Part 2 due out next Tuesday and will cover more of the conspiratorial mindset and other alleged faces (remember those guys from the Cydonia Institute, or the guy who said Mars was Murdered?).

If you have any feedback, let me know!

haha, actually, i'd considered merging that into this thread until i saw that you just recently created it, so i figured you must have done that for a reason and i left it alone.

I figured it was a separate topic in and of itself since so many other people work from it.  Granted, the majority of what I talk about in Part 1 is Hoagland's stuff, but Part 2 should be <half Hoagland.

also, when you're trying to plug a podcast or something, it's sometimes better to put it out there in its own thread so it doesn't get drowned out by everything else.

edit:  you ought to start a thread about your podcast if you haven't already.

If you think I should start a separate thread for the podcast, I will.  I hadn't because only perhaps 2/3 of the material is related on C2C.

doesn't need to be related at all.  head over and start something in the talk radio/podcasts section.

Astroguy, thanks for the wonderful new podcast. I listen to yours all the time and it was very interesting. It, in part, inspired me to do my latest blogpost on The Face on Mars, "The Face on Mars Farce".

http://interposemission.blogspot.com/2013/01/the-face-on-mars-farce.html

I was hoping to post something on Richard C, Hoagland's (see his facebook fanpage for why I have the comma) HYPERDIMENSIONAL PHYSICS, but it was more involved than I thought... so I have my own insights into The Face...

astroguy

Picture a pyramid inside of a sphere, and rotate that pyramid.  Put the sphere inside of the motor of a chainsaw, and put that chainsaw in an icosahedron and let it move around on the ocean currents as a hurricane is passing by.  That's easier to describe than Hoagland's hyperdimensional physics.

Well, I think it's thoroughly incomprehensible... That's pretty obvious. Yet I think what he describes is basically a hypothesis with neither empirical confirmation nor a workable field theory which can make predictions. In the end, Hoagland waves his arms a little, then asserts that there's "something wonderful" about 19.5 degrees north/south on the planets in the solar system and with "rotation, rotation, rotation"... And he seems to think vibration is just a partial rotation. Huh?!

expat

The closest those two clowns Hoagland & Bara ever came to expounding a theory of HD phys was this, from Bara:

Quote from: Mike BaraA rotating sphere pulls energy from its higher state.

And he did write, in The Choice (p.162), that vibration is "partial rotation."

b_dubb

dick tax - the amount of energy wasted positing bullshit that RCH insists is true
