Doomed

Yeh, I think ol' Wells has Hoaxland figured out.
It was kinda nice to listen to a host who DIDNT call it "chicken eatsya."

mmmmmmm chicken eatsya...

don't forget to check out the actual footage of dumbass trying to explain his pyramid laser anomaly to a park guard... its towards the end.  link from expats blog post...

I'm grabbing that show to listen to hoagies full segment again.  This stuff is priceless comedy.

It's hilarious! I'd love to know what the guard was thinking!! I feel a competition in the offing!! So, what was the guard thinking as Hoaxland was trying to explain his white box with twiddly knobs on?

"Pedro? You know you told me not to trust anyone with a beard? You're not going to believe this..."

He was thinking about the burrito he left in the microwave before he got the call that santa claus was in the park with a laptop and a watch callibrator from 1976.  Did you see the closeup of that thing it doesn't even have an LCD display lol!

Hey, when you're dealing with the far reaches of torsion physics and apartments om Mars, who needs mere LCD displays? They're sooooooo last decade. ;D

I hear the chicken eatsya pizza rolls are quite tasty, when handled properly.

bada-bump! It's a two-fer! Well done.

I listened to Well's show with Hoagie for about 20 minutes. He said 'torsion field', 'physics', 'quantum physics', 'Enterprise mission', and 'donate' several times, but never really elaborated. Kept going on about how his measurements on the torsion field were important, never explained what sort of measurements they were and what they implied. And apparently ALL the great scientists out there believe in his stuff. I'm not going to go to his website to find out what a torsion field is, the only thing I know about torsion is that it's the curvature of a space curve...

ziznak

I have an idea for hoaxy.  Maybe he could heat up a plate full of pizza rolls in a carousel type microwave oven and hook his little apparatus up to that?  I'll bet he gets some crazy data spikes when he compares that with the baseline data that he doesn't have.

I can't help but do more research on this...
alas that IS actually an lcd screen and when I looked at the zoom in a few frames later I got the full name of the device and found this page:
http://www.bmumford.com/microset.html
1997??? whaaaaaaaaaaaa
the microset 2 and 3 mention computer interface and data capture capabilities.
Can't seem to find "Tosion Fields" mentioned anywhere though... hmmmmmm.

I e-mailed the inventor, Bryan Mumford, to ask whether MicroSetâ,,¢ was capable of detecting the vast range of frequency Hogland claims -- as high as 1000 Hz and as low as 14 Hz. His reply:

QuoteYes, MicroSet could measure such excursions. But I am skeptical that any outside influence caused an Accutron to vary by so much unless it's broken.

I also e'd Hoagland himself to ask when he is going to state any actual measurement carried out with this apparatus, and what units torsion is measured in. Nothing back yet.

No? That does surprise me; I would have thought Richard would be keen to make his findings public knowledge. I'm sure he wouldn't want to be tarred with the accusation of a cover up and the economics of truth that certain of his ilk accuse NASA of indulging in...They'll be a perfectly rational and reasonable reason for the delay I'm sure.

He does want to make his findings public, just at some expo for Believers.

Well, yes, astroguy, sort-of. It'll be "look at these amazing squiggles, confirming the powerful amplification effect of pyramids." But as for a measurement, that will continue to be secret. So will any baselines or controls.

It's a hardcore chewbacca defense he's using... lotsa people fall for that crap.

A new section on torsion sensing has been added to the Hoagland-wiki.

Where's the Hoagland-wiki section about his academic background or am I just missing it?  Is Hoagland a college graduate?  Is Hoagland even a high school graduate?

Obviously, you're unaware of Hoaglands true persona?

High school yes, college no. The wikipedia talk page displays some history on the topic. Some editor wrote that RCH had no college, and a wiki-nazi immediately demanded a citation from a reliable source. It went around for a bit and finally the nazis allowed that it would be OK to quote somebody reputable as having said that.

Thus, it was reduced to the very weak sentence Ralph Greenberg, Professor of Mathematics at the University of Washington, wrote a paper asserting that the logic of Hoagland's deductions from the geometry of Cydonia Mensae is flawed and says that he is not a trained scientist in any sense.

I like wikipedia, I use it a lot, but as the edit and re-edit grinds on there's a terrible tendency to degenerate to the most innocuous unchallengeable statements.

Thanks, expat.  Just listening to Hoagland is enough to realize his background in science is questionable and most of the time downright laughable.  Hoagland is such an ego maniac, it's hard to believe if he had ANY legitimate academic credentials, he wouldn't be announcing them at every opportunity.

astroguy

How about demanding a citation that he did have college?  None found, ergo in the absence of that, he did not ... (yes, I know I just committed a bit of a logical fallacy there, but I don't care)

Sardondi

Has there never been a campaign demanding that Hoagland and/or C2C produce verifiable evidence that Hoagland does indeed hold some bachelor's degree or greater from any accredited college or university? If not, why not? And shouldn't such a campaign be undertaken, say, now?

Maybe when they start to worry about "Dr" Louis Turi and the other people who got their "degrees" through non-accredited diploma mills, maybe they'll worry about Hoagland not having any degree.  And let's be fair - degrees aren't everything.  It's really the "Dr" Turi types that tick me off more.

I absolutely agree. Except unless I'm mistaken, Hoagland has held himself out as a "degreed" scientist...at a minimum he's never corrected anyone when the made reference to something like that I'm sure. I think it's something Hoagland (nor George, because it undermines him and his authority and reliability as well) doesn't want the world to know the truth...which makes me want to tell the world.

I could be mistaken, but I thought that a few times when a caller has referred to him as "Dr. Hoagland," he's corrected them.  The idiots do tend to run together, though.

He's much more careful than I thought. Well, hell. Is this defeat?
