Funny you should say this.  I've been helping a longtime friend clear out the house his mother, who died late last year, had lived in for over fifty years. The house, a smallish brick ranch style, still has the one and only phone it has ever had, a black rotary dial wall phone in the kitchen.  Technically those phones were the property of the Bell system, the long gone "Ohio Bell" in this case.  One of the last things on his list of things to do is to call AT&T to see if they want to come get the phone.

By the way, he told me he bought his Mom a cell (flip) phone back in the early 2000s, but he's pretty sure she never used it.

I worked in radio with a couple of talk show hosts who I listened to regularly before I worked for them and I couldn't ever get them to understand that most people tune into radio shows to hear the hosts, not the guests. The most popular radio host of all time never has guests. Art just doesn't seem to understand it's all about him, that voice, that staccato delivery, the open mind, all of it. Just him.

I think Art doesn't "get it." People may mention Art's Trump endorsement while they're canceling, but the actual reason is that by once again posting and talking, he reminds them that he is not on the show they're paying for and an unacceptable replacement is in his place. The show loses subscribers when Art talks about anything at this point, for the same reason.

He is in a serious case of denial when he thinks that his choice of candidates will cause anyone to listen or not listen to his former show. His politics were never that important a factor to his listeners. This is just another diversionary tactic on his part. Fans in particular care about one thing, the quality of the show, which he refuses to deal with any meaningful way.

The worst thing is the stupid promises of "returning", just to placate those who have yet to decide if they are cancelling their subscription. I said from the get-go before the new show happened and Trump became a political phenomena that he needed to try to get him on the show. Love him or hate him he probably would have some interesting stories of his business career, entertainment industry, hot chick, local and national politics, etc. Way too late now. But, maybe, this is Art's way of trying to save the network because if he could get Trump at this late a date it would certainly boost ratings. Who knows.  Heather made a comment that was "anti-Republican" early on in one of her first shows, it was a dumb move.  Art always knew how crucial it was to not let his Politics bleed into his show and alienate half the audience.

Well it would be funny since RCH is liberal and new agey and would try to work in torsion and 19.5 into Trump's successes and Trump would be confused by the theories and just spout off, though I suspect torsion has something to do with both of their hair.
But seriously Art should try to get Trump on. It would be a major, major ratings deal. He's had candidates on before (though probably a better success if he would've tried early-on when Trump was long-shot, or joke, and not a phenomena.)

Why is Trump winning? Simple, the American people have figured out that we are in trouble and that what we have had is not going to fix it with traditional Democrats or Republicans, history shows us that. As I said on the show people are very angry and his support shows that. Once you have taken all that mainstream money you will act to protect those interests and they are not yours or mine.
