Youtube, type in the name, and listen. It takes all of ten seconds to learn a pronunciation. Even better, take an additional 10 minutes and read the Wikipedia article on the person or the car company. Last night's mispronunciations were unprofessional, that's Noory/Leo Ashcraft shit.

Don't forget your flashlight, SciFi. As long as you don't stub your toe when you're going for more popcorn, it's a pretty livable place. And if you can master both sides of the Force, you've got it made in the shade.

Xcellent =)  That Dan Sherman interview was so fascinating that I had to keep stopping to go back and pick up the details.  And that was before I saw the leaked documents confirming his descriptions of the security edifice protecting the project.

I tell ya - when he describes the way his alien contact clams up and signs off whenever he inquires about the nature of the project...which apparently involves aliens coordinating with the NSA...you really can't help but think  "if it were anything good, in any way, they wouldn't be so reluctant to say a word about it."  :/

I'm still pro-Heather and Art. I'm just not a shill. When I see a problem, I'm going to say it so she can fix it and mispronouncing a major public figure's name is a no no for several reasons. Be better than Noory, that's the standard I have when listening to this show.

Noory is a very low bar to set. We have higher standards for broadcasters on the Dark Side. The Emperor doesn't tolerate failure very well, which explains why he doesn't keep any weakling Darth Vader wannabes in his employ. They have some nerve calling this network Dark Matter.

You raise an interesting point. We don't know what his face looks like when he says "better every day." If he was a TV guy and he did more video, it might not be so easy for him to say these things. On the other hand, maybe he'd be able to keep a perfectly straight face. Another thing we'll probably never know.

Holy crap…last night I listened to Art’s Nov. 10, 1997 interview with Dan Sherman about an “above black” secret military program involving alien communication, Project Preserve Destiny…and I found his story extremely compelling.  Which is startling, because Dan was told by a supervisor in the military that his mother was abducted in the 1960s and his DNA was tampered with by aliens so he’d be capable of receiving telepathic messages from them, which he was assigned to do that for the military in the “grey”/unacknowledged special access program he describes.  After being trained in the language of basic telepathic communication ostensibly employed by an alien race that works with the NSA to some extent, Dan became dismayed when he eventually began receiving routine reports of abductions that featured numerical assessments of the abductees' pain responses, likelihood of recall of the event, and bodily response to whatever tests were conducted on them.

One of the things I love about these old interviews is being about to check online to see what retrospect has to say about them.  A quick Google search immediately brought up this Oct. 11, 2014 article:

So 16 years later, one of the documents leaked by Edward Snowden confirms Sherman’s testimony about the NSA using highly classified “black programs” as cover for even more highly classified programs (which he refers to as “grey programs” aka “above black programs").  We may now even have the name of the umbrella program he feared to mention under threat of prosecution:  Sentry Eagle.

Generally I have to give a second thought to the guests and cases that haven’t been discredited after 10-20 years, but it’s even more compelling when unrelated sources offer confirmation of key aspects of a guest’s testimony.

I also want to point out that this is yet another incident that handily refutes the absurd notion that “all of the real stories get covered by the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, etc.”  Mainstream reporting does not keep us informed about all of the significant developments in our world and government.  If Edward Snowden hadn’t leaked this document and the “Art of Deception” document, we would never have heard of these programs, or even entire agencies that were totally unknown to the public and news agencies.

Gee, who says this? Lots of other papers and magazines (even some websites, I imagine) have broken important stories. I don't know if you would label them all as mainstream. But it is true that if anyone reports a hot story that is reasonably solid, it will get picked up by the mainstream press.

I could easily do without Snowden, however. If the future of the country is hanging on his methods of disclosure, we might as well pack it in now. I don't think we need him or (get ready, rekcuf) his ilk. Or his elk, if he has one over there in Russia.
