Let's face it, even if he comes back to a full schedule it's not something he'll want to keep up. So why not manage expectations early?

I am sad to see this happen to Art. I know nothing of the business so I can only comment from the POV of a consumer. If Art did a once a week show, I think it would offer him a great opportunity to showcase just how talented he still is and illustrate the contrast between his show and the mess that is now C2C.

Art and staff would have ample time to seek and sign up quality guests (unless they can be bullied out of it by you know who) research the material and then present a professional, entertaining and intelligent interview show with smart callers to round it all off.

There's an old saying- "It's quality not quantity that matters"

Hi, kids! And yeah, that seemed a little like a petty tantrum to me. I'm kind of out of the loop and have no clue what this is all about -- I saw it on Art's FB page and thought, "Wha? Wait? Art's mad at Keith? Jimmy Church -- who? What?" -- but I did also kind of think, "well hell, this seems convenient." 

I haven't listened to C2C in a zillion years. Now I'm going to have to find this show and listen to it. Meanwhile, I need Cliff's Notes or something to understand this situation. 

Thanks for at least inspiring me to hop back over to see my old friends at Bellgab with your FB rant though, Art!

Welcome back, counselor.  Are you still advising/representing Art or are the comments/opinions you are now posting yours alone, totally independent of Art?

I wish I was the counselor.  I have not talked to Art in many months, so my opinions are completely my own.  My stated wish for a Art Bell/MV/Bateman combo is not a business model that I know works....just my personal preference as a listener.  Art is Art, the greatest radioman in this field EVER, Bateman puts out a great show, and MV seems like he could get this thing off the ground technically.  I would listen.

I wish I could friend Art on facebook.  Art, don't take people here's advice willy nilly.  Sir, you should find trustworthy lawyers and managers who can prevent this kind of thing from happening.  Those that don't know what a bad person Jimmy Church is won't understand what has happened.  In my opinion, you did not have a tantrum, that's bullcrap.  You believe in integrity, so do I.  Whatever you do, don't just jump into the next thing, be careful and come back to us when things are optimal for you.

I think you'll get a better idea of what happened through bellgab than FB ...

Jimmy Church = Fade to Black with JC ... many feel he is Julius Caesar's "Et tu, Brute" ....as he thought he was the next Art Bell and just filling in for him on the DM network and he was bad-mouthing GN & C2C UNTIL he was suddenly asked to host on C2C and then everything changed ... many peeps on here have felt he was/is a fraud anyways ... with the underwater (alien base) Malibu shtick, siding with Alex Jones about Sandy Hook and the Twitter feed fiasco (getting a gazillion tweets ... but then it was investigated on here that they were bought Russian tweets or something like that).

Many (if not ALL of us) feel that integrity, loyalty and honesty are the main ingredients for any type of relationship ... Art felt betrayed ...

Art has every right to have beef with jimmy church!  Church didnt have to join the dark side. Jimmy knew the rivalry between coast/premier and Art, but he chose to betray Art and willingly  chose to accept coasts offer.  Also Art is absolutely right in that coast/premier purposely went after jimmy to steal him away from Dark Matter Radio. But jimmy was a fool for taking the bait and being naive enough to think that coast genuinely wanted him as a host and that it wasn't meant to get at Art and piss him off.

As far as Keith, I think Art is pissed off because Keith never told him about Jimmy leaving to go to coast. As soon as Keith found out, he should of got on the phone and told Art. Keith tried sweeping it under the rug and not telling Art about it. I wouldnt be suprised if coast even offered Keith a position within the company. Its obvious that coast/premier are REALLY trying to do Art harm, emotionally. Thats soo fucked up and those two (keith and jimmy) are fucked up too!!!!

If this turns out to be true, that Art will never return to having a show on air (even if just online), just because c2c has stolen away one of the main DM hosts, (and for how long .... just the occasional Sunday when Knapp can't host?), then I'll be very disappointed in Art.  He will have fallen for their little master plan to keep him from returning, even if Church hosting c2c was meant as that.  Maybe it is c2c's way of trying to get at Art and hurt him, but he shouldn't allow it to because by doing so he lets them win.

Did anyone once hear GN and JC mention DMRN or Art Bell when he was on? I didn't. If they did they didn't make a big deal about it. Which they should given he created the show they are both now on. They both froze when that caller said "lets get art bell's dark matter back on". Then GN answered the callers question without agreeing about DM.

Lets not forget it took a few weeks of us sneaking on and mentioning Art before GN even cracked and mentioned Art was coming back. Even though everyone else was reporting it and flooding the C2C facebook. When he finally mentioned it he sounded like he was dying.

I think Art's comment about not sharing any business with C2C is extremely fair. I think they have been predatory in in enticing Jimmy Church to their show. In my mind it is nothing more than a preemptive move to weaken and profit from DMR before Art's return. What will Art do now is up in the air I suppose but I hope some sort of amicable solution can be found and if not, I hope he is up for a new venture.
