Agreed. My thoughts on this have been well documented. I'm grateful for the little glimpses that we get into Art thoughts in the post C2CAM/Dark Matter era. I just wish we had more.

Was just listening to Art's old interview with telephone hacker John "Captain Crunch" Draper and as I was really getting a kick out of it, I suddently realized the main reason I loved Art's shows so much. 

He had this way of probing into a topic like an old private eye, following the trail, stopping to examine details, musing at certain findings, peering around the corner to scope out the area, etc.  It's like we're along with him on a quest for the truth.  His interest morphs into our interest and we find ourselves listening with rapt attention wondering where the trail will turn next. 

Noory sadly has no context like this.  He just has jumbled disconnected 3x5 cards and generic questions.  There's no continuity, no path to follow, just random interjections that go nowhere.  Sigh.

I too recently listened to this show and also enjoyed it immensely. Art has a special way of delving into topics that no other broadcaster can match. It also helped that Art has a basic technical understanding of and, most importantly, an interest in the topic which Noory and his pea sized brain could not even begin to grasp if his life depended on it.

It is not only Noory that has no context like this, none of the other hosts do (not even the latest praised flavor of the month). It's one of the reasons Art is so irreplaceable. I do enjoy one or two other hosts, but I long for Art for the very reason you worded so well!

Chunga single handedly ruined the legacy of the GIS for me. Say what you will about EVPs and whether they are real or not but I always believed that the GIS were honorable and on the level. I don't know whether it was my wanting to believe coming out or whether it was the fact that they had nothing to sell that swayed me but they were one of the few paranormal guests that I actually thought were on to something. Barbara was probably a big part of the sell too. However when Chunga appeared on the scene and started inserting himself into GIS history that I'm pretty certain he was no more apart of then any of us it was like finding out that your favorite sportsperson was juicing all these years.

I could not agree more.  I do not know that I was ever "sold" that they were real and what they claimed- but I did not believe that they were faked.  When I heard they were going to be on Dark Matter I was happy.  I wanted to catch up with what they had done for the last number of years.  What technology they were using now, where they were going. 

Instead in one interview Chunga has made it so that I no longer care.  I would question anything that came out of their project now and it is another chapter on the paranormal closed for good.

I think you were discussing if paranormal was dead on your last "radio show" (if Noory has a television show, I will call your podcast a radio show.)  It is due to these types of guests and interviews that I lean towards "yes."  If Art hosted them again I would listen- but I would not buy a word that came out of Chim Chimney Chunga's mouth.

Dude, my gal, a Cebuana, is 11 years my junior, when we first met, age wasn't an issue, she was an adult and I didn't show my age at all, I looked younger (still do) than I am.  We're much older now, but don't be so quick to ding Art for loving a woman younger than him.  Filipinas seek maturity and stability in men because in their country, some men philander around, some keep a second wife and family, some gamble what little money they have on rooster fights, others are addicted to Shabu, so she likely sought him out just as much as he did her, and she probably was attracted to him partly because he was a mature, stable, good guy.

To Filipinas American men are attractive even when we're older, just like how some of us find Asian woman pretty.  When I give my girl the eye (I've got blue eyes) she smiles and melts. 

I'm a little bothered by those of you that imply Art is a perv for marrying a younger wife.  AFAWK, he treats her good, he's faithful to her, and is a doting daddy.  How many men do you know that don't fight those parameters?

This is sad but I just realized I'd happily listen to a Chunga-centric show just to have Art back on air.  I thought I got all this out of my system on the Quits thread a long time ago, but, frig it still sucks.
