Not a good sign for those of us hoping for a return.  Chronic back pain is chronic per Captain Obvious.

I feel those nervous flutters again about Art's ability to work on a regular basis.

Waaaaaa, couldn't let us hope a little longer?   :-\

ha ha    JK, That's exactly the thought I had when I read that post.  RATS!
Nervous fluttering here, too.   :(

Maybe art should move to Colorado

I hear the air there is great for back pain.

He will probably be very chatty then
Or move to some mid-south state and get on that Oxy-train. By the way, the problem isn't the design of our backs but the design of our chairs, toilets, and sedentary lifestyles.

Actually, I seem to recall reading somewhere that due to our evolutionary rise - literally - from crawling on all fours to bipedalism, our spines never actually made the proper adjustment. Or the relationship between our pelvis and spine, etc.

Well now you are believin' in that evolution quackery. Everybody knows that man has one less rib which causes an inbalance in gait and therefore causes lower back pain.

And what we got in return causes more severe pain somewhat lower.

His "updates" are so vague as to be without meaning. I'm glad he's found a solution to his back problems. But why dangle carrots before us starving rabbits? He's a cruel one that Art Bell.

Ha!  That's the truth.  But where IS the Geo Metro or, more importantly, the hot Firebird?

We've done this game solo many times.

"For what comes next" is likely him taking up hiking or something.

I am astonished a "What Comes Next" thread has not yet been started by you ridiculously creative folk, however I am truly quite happy for Art's new found relief from pain. I wouldn't wish chronic pain on my worst enemy, not even Noory after lastnights cacophony of blunders and awkward/ill-fitting segues. Yes, I am being polite.

Indeed I do wish Noory would somehow magically grow a brain and lose his inflated ego.

This message is sooooo encrypted. I think what Art is really saying is one of the following.

1. My back is ok.
2. Baby I'm BAAAAACK!
3. I'm bored.
4. Does anyone still use Facebook?
5. Fuck off already!

Art Bell is still "following" SiriusXM on Twitter. And that's how involved Art is in social media

Keep your friends close and your enemies ....

Aw fuck it. Art doesn't know how to use social media properly.

Or he would be here!

FallenSeraph

Did anyone hear Jimmy Church the other night on Ground Zero with Clyde Lewis? I've never listened to the guy, but I think there's a thread here devoted to him or maybe he pops in here sometimes.

He may be cool and all, but my feathers got ruffled a little (FEATHERS! RUFFLED!) when he said something along the lines of "Hey, I'm filling in for Art Bell over on the Dark Matter Network and I take that responsibility very seriously. I'm representing his brand!"

He made it sound like he was appointed by Art himself and I wanted to throttle him a little. Don't get me wrong, he may be cool and all that â€" I'm not familiar enough to speak comprehensively about his work â€" but that statement made me sit up and say, "HEY NOW! YOU STOP THAT!"

He then proceeded to talk about Keith Rowland and the other guys he was chummy with, so hey, maybe he was appointed to "fill in for Art" over there. Who knows.

I heard it and had similar thoughts.  Oh well, at least somebody is taking advantage of Art's stature for his own benefit.  Lord knows Art isn't.

I notice that when I play the Dark Matter Radio Network using the Tunein app on my android smartphone that it shows in the title:

I can believe that.

Maybe he'll just do weekend work down the road.  :-\

I would be more surprised by Art's return to radio than I would be if he said he was never coming back. Radio just isn't the same as it was back in the day, and Art realizes it. Might as well stay retired and enjoy his life.

I think that's just Jimmy's ego.  If it were actually true, you'd hear something more official.

Art may or may not be back, or back for long, but I don't think this was meant to signal anything.  It sounds like a typical marketing throwaway line, i.e, "listen to our shows so you don't miss out on the early period of a great program".

Too me this is all non news, and there are no hidden nuances.

I think Art likes the idea of broadcasting, but found out it took too much of his free time and interfered with other things he wanted to be doing at times.  As the memory of those constraints fades - which has probably mostly already happened - he'll be more and more jazzed about doing some sort of show again - until he's actually doing it and a few things start to not go his way.

Anything more than once or twice a week will end quickly
