It is good to hear that Art has the 300 pound gorilla of his back. I think that if Art come back at all, it will be in some kind of week-end format. I don't see Art wanting to work 24/7 at this point in his life.

It would just be great to hear his voice on the airwaves again.

Remember "Dreamland" when Art had it, before Strieber took over?  Once a week, preferably the weekend, would be excellent.  It would certainly be less of a grind for Art than doing a nightly show.  A weekly fix of Art is certainly better than none.  Heck, we've been getting by on some over decade old shows with SIT, which is still light years better than the current Noory train wreck.

Hi All,

I do not wish to string anybody along, stay tuned means just that. Until I was free in terms of non compete there was no
real way I could be on the air anywhere. Premiere has offered me a slot anytime I wish.....I do not wish.

Now that I can indeed return if I wish there is the matter of a venue, I have some offers I am thinking about but have not
decided on anything as of yet. There was a time that I did not want to compete with Coast because I had no wish to destroy
what I built, Premiere has almost managed to change my mind about that.

Doing a show means devoting your life to it, not just "phoning it in", examples of that can be heard nightly. So a decision to
proceed will have to be done right or not at all. This means the creative freedom is first along with the venue.

While doing Coast at one point, instead of taking more money I opted for a restriction on the number of commercial minutes,
a dumb move because as soon as I was gone they came back PLUS. I do what I do because I love it, not for the money.

So, I just now have come to the point that I CAN do something, if I will or not depends on the above. I hope this helps some
of you understand the process. I would rather do nothing than something half-assed.

                                                                                                                   Art

THIS pretty much just made my day...week...YEAR.

I am new here, but not to CTC.

I started listening to CTC in about 1994-95. I called in a few times and spoke with Art over the years until he quit. CTC got me through alot of times in life and was always there for education and entertainment. There was never, and never has been, radio like Art Bell did it. Since he left CTC has turned into a corporate bore. Noory is so "cut and paste" or "this is just my job" it is nearly nauseating. You can feel it listening to him, honestly. The "New TV Show" (which I am sick of hearing about every 30 min, I actually turn off the radio for the commercial because I am so sick of hearing about it) further puts the knife in and twists it. Having people have to PAY a subscription to watch it is flat out ridiculous. Not to mention most those people probably already pay for the site subscription. RIDICULOUS. I don't say this with a purpose to bash Noory. But, frankly, the only host worth anything on CTC is John B Wells. He at least has some style and spontaneity, you wont find that with Noory. I frankly listen to Clyde Lewis (Ground Zero) on alot of the the nights John B Wells is not on, Clyde is much more like Art was, and I have met him personally. He's a nice guy.

Anyhow. If Art decided to come back in some fashion you can bet it will be a Global Super Storm. He will get day 1 high ratings. I can guarantee it. We long time "fans" would be all over it like ants on honey. It would be a "day long remembered" as Darth Vader once said. I respect Art's privacy and opinions. His need to "get it right or do nothing at all" is good news to my ears. I greatly anticipate his announcement on his decision. Whatever he decides, he owes us nothing. We are the ones who owe him after all he gave us for years. His raw treatment by Premiere is proof of what is wrong with radio (and CTC) now days. Art knows it, and he did well to stand his ground.

And btw. Please people. Don't turn this thread into a bickering insult fest. Have some respect for Art, and eachother. If I were Art and saw some of the childishness on these forums I'd think twice before returning.

yeah, i was thinking the same thing.  i reeeally hope people aren't sending him a bunch of private messages asking for the mailing address to send their creepy hand crafted cat lady gifts.
I'm just guessing he probably doesn't want those 3 foot statues of Art with a telescope made from Kraft Singles. Or that Area 51 replica constructed of discarded Creamsicle sticks.

or the green and white kleenex cover with the name "art bell" crocheted in white lettering.

actually, i think i've mentioned this as a creepy cat lady gift before.  i suspect this is the number one hand crafted gift sent to art.

I have one of those but it's for toilet paper. I freaking hate it. But my husband's great-grandma made it, what can I do. It's purple and white, for Kansas State.

i don't care if christ made it, you won't find one of these things in my house.  period.

hell, i just threw out my great grandmother's sewing machine.  a kleenex cover has no chance.

the account known as "art bell" on coastgab is, in fact, art bell of pahrump, nv.  this was verified immediately after the first time he posted here long ago.  it is STILL art bell.  even the ip address is the same as before.

How naive can you be, Michael? Obviously Art's compound has been compromised.  Just look at his thinly veiled plea:

"I do not wisH to string anybody along, stay tunEd means just that. Until I was free in terms of non compete there was no
reaL way I could be on the air anywhere. Premiere has offered ME a slot anytime I wish.....I do not wish."

by the way... has anyone updated art's wikipedia page with the newest information and a corresponding link to his most recent coastgab post?  if not, please do so (i really don't know how to do so with proper source links and whatnot).

This is true. But are Kraft Singles really cheese? I tend to think of them as some type of error by DuPont that somehow ended up in supermarkets.

I'll look into it (the wiki entry) this weekend if no one else has done it by then. Lots going on here.

And yeah MV, thanks for verifying to the masses the validity of Art's account. I remember jumping through seven fiery hoops to demonstrate the FB page was real two years ago, and figured when it was finally proven beyond a doubt, that was that. Annoying (and frustrating) to have to keep re-proving something that's been established.

I also want to reiterate my earlier question now in light of Art's post...when will George stop signing off with Art's name, or will he? Thoughts?

Definitely. It seems to be a weird case of Wikipedia trolling, where the editor noted twice how they "spoke with Art" which is dubious. I don't doubt Art's posts on here, it's just annoying that someone was insistent on removing updates to Art's situation.
Noory or Tommy are probably the ones messing with the Art Bell wikipedia entry  8)

Thing is, he did stop signing off with Art's name for a while, just after Art left (and I think this was at Art's request). But of course, we the fans made a big fuss about it, and so...

Fame can be a right bitch sometimes.

Tommy maybe, but after receiving an email from sNoory, I can't imagine he has the technical or spelling ability to mess with the entry.

Indeed I do. I loved Dreamland, maybe even more so than C2C. This would be a great format for Art to return to. At this point though, you never know. Could Art possible return to a regular talk radio format?

Yep. Plus push and publicize a nationwide boycott of C2C so that the hard-of-thnking connect the dots.

It is not enough that Art Bell be merely restored to his rightful place of radio supremacy; the pretender, George Noory, must also be cast down into ignominy and obscurity. Then, and only then, will we be satisfied.

I look forward to whatever he decides, but still I would enjoy hearing on this coming Monday night:  From the high desert and the great American Southwest and so forth.  I decided to go with Premiere since they gave complete creative control and wrote in NO HALF-ASS.
For the news of the day a very sad day at LAX, there was a dumpy man who locked himself in the mens restroom and would not come out.  He kept hollaring it is incredible, good point and indeed.  He would not come out because it was not safe.  Finally, the special control broke down the door, put him on a gurney and hauled him out. Last heard he was on a jet, called a Nighthawk, under suicide watch.  At his side was a man, with a big stomach.  When the plane arrived in St. LOUIS, he was under lockdown in a padded cell, called the cave.  Last seen the man with the big stomach was seen on a flight back to LA.  Updates will be coming from the padded room.

Chewmouse - I am no germaphobe but that would be impossible to get all the bacteria out of so close to the toilet.  Seems a bad idea...

I mean it has an open weave with all kinds of little spaces for E. coli and worse to live in - YIKES!
