Art, please come back with a new show.

You said you didn't want to destroy what was your creation but its only resemblance to what was once your's is its name.

It would be fitting that you destroyed that "shell" of a show.

(New here. First post. Hi.)

The current C2C with Noory is like some abortion of a creature from John Carpenter's version of "The Thing."  Art wouldn't be destroying his creation, he'd be putting the current C2C creature out of it's misery.

Could THIS be Snoory ?

Long before the days of Art Bell, Ira Blue was talking about UFOs on late night radio on KGO San Francisco.

Here's a link that lets you know what he sounded like. Just scroll down the page to Ira Blue.

And here's a link to a company that let's YOU be the potentially next talk show radio star.

Who knows ?

Maybe someone could get on air around 8 pm and run a show similar to Dreamland and affect the Snoorminator ?

Not Ira Blue but what KGO used to sound like around the time Ira Blue was on the air.

At the time of the killing, Drisdel hosted a weekly radio show called "The Human Factor" on radio station WGNU.Drisdel's wife at the time of the killing told police he told her he had gone to Kovack's home to smoke crack cocaine and heard a voice order him to kill Kovack because she was the devil.

I found this which looks of interest but has nothing to do with the above stories.

Quote from: DarthAsceticis on January 11, 2013, 11:33:30 AMThere was never, and never has been, radio like Art Bell did it.
There is something true to this. Art brings out some unique quality. I don't even agree with him on core belief issues. I don't care. I love the guy. I suspect his love for what he does is what makes his shows so extraordinary.
QuoteWe are the ones who owe him after all he gave us for years.
I went through a rough time last year. I was outside several hours a day, on my bicycle, wandering about because I wasn't welcome home. Smartphone + coastgab = Art keeping you loving and smiling.

ACE of CLUBS

"From the high desert, and the 'grrrreat American southwest' ......... "  Wouldn't it be wonderful to hear that line again ... live!

The enthusiasm that came through the ether when Art opened his show ...... 'The Chase' playing in the background, the expectation and trust that the audience had with the host ....... that Art would bring out the best in his guest(s) and callers alike.

The genuine respect for the guest and caller came over those airwaves .... with a twinkle in the eye!
A fun show.  Art was the orchestra leader ...... understated and accomplished.  A man you felt you could have a coffee and some laughs with.

What do we have now?
We've been adrift for a decade now ..... with little to look forward to.

hmm.  well then.

Last night before Ground Zero came on I used my CCWIFI radio to tune into KNYE. They were playing a song Art used to use as bumper music and to hear that while reading "KINGDOM OF NYE" on the screen gave me chills. I almost cried.  Really. I started listening in 1995 so I know what we are missing. My brain played Ross Mitchell saying "East of the Rockies" "West of the Rockies" "First time callers" "On the Wildcard LINE" :(

Funny, I tune into KNYE once and a while for the same nostalgic reason.  If you are lucky you'll occasionally hear a local commercial read by Art.

I don't care if he does a 1 hour show a twice a month during the early evening, I will gladly open my wallet and pay for streaming membership.  Also, the good thing about the internet these days is the ability to have a talk show without even having network backing or radio affiliates; Art has so much wiggle room now for re-opportunity.

Just heard George do an IncomeAtHome advertisement and I realized that I have a great Income At Home story. There's this guy, and he hosts a radio show from his home....

Snorry's been doing income from home for 10 years every time he goes back to St. Louis and goes into his sewer deep below the earth.

And it's US who've had to endure the stench.

CrabbyOld Bat

Just in case you're reading the board, Art...

PLEASE COME BACK ON THE AIR! (Sorry. I can't help but beg whenever I have the chance.)

Anyway, if doing a 4 hour show every day is more than you'd like, just giving us a 2 hour show M-F would be fantastic! Maybe you could get Knapp to do a 2 hour show every Sunday with Punnett or classic, original "Art" re-runs for 2 hours on Saturday. Heck, you don't even need guests! You're THAT good!

Just some thoughts cuz I'm getting desperate. Snorge, John Be Unwell and Clyde "I Try Too Hard To Be A Shock Jock" Lewis are killing late night radio and I hate being collateral damage.

thats true and Art has said that himself many times.
plus when Art controlled internet archived replays of his shows in the late 90s before PremRat took over, Art offered them for FREE, unlike the costly streamlink stuff that started with Noory.

Yeah, Art is the ultimate radio guy so I'd be surprised to see any kind of internet show pop-up.

I'm still hoping Art might go for a one-night a week, weekend radio show.

I think Art would be incensed by merely doing a show on the 'net, while Noory Nero destroys C2C.

A weekend thing would be awesome for Art, and something I think is plausible. But...we've been there before and it always ends up the same.

Sad but true, Eddie.  At least we could enjoy it for awhile.  With Noory on C2C, I now know what eternal means.  :-[

Art would hopefully have decent pinch hitters similar to a Knapp or even Ian(perhaps even getting them), if he did try a weekend type gig. That would soften the blow...

Morgus

In the 90's Art didn't have any substitute or weekend hosts.
He took Saturdays off and they played a replay of a show from earlier in the week, and on Sunday nights he had his separate live 3 hour Dreamland show which always featured the first hour with Linda Howe and two hours with a guest (no callers)

our local affiliate is soooo out of the loop when it comes to the programming on their own station.  they're still playing a liner, read by art bell, in which he urges listeners to tune on weekends to hear him.  what the fuck.  this could be perhaps the most poorly run talk station i've ever heard.

Does Art know he's the leader of this Scorpion Army?

QuoteWe are awaiting orders to slay the St. Louis False Prophet Of Gloom.
Whoa now there, I don't want to kill anybody. I wouldn't mind George having a couple of broken legs head cold but not being slain!

QuoteMy friends you've heard the partial truth of the betrayal of Richard C. Hoagland by Premire Radio!
Hoagland has betrayed every single person that has ever listened to his claptrap. If Premiere screwed him, more power to 'em.

QuoteThere are more truths to come. Truths that will end careers and lives, truths that WILL shake Wall Street.
Wall Street?

QuoteTime to destroy the Snooryvader of the Dark Empire!
He has his own empire? That figures. That just freaking figures.

I guess I'm not a fellow Scorpion, then. Because I have no venom in my tail.

That was almost poetic, Fort Rock.

Art please release the kraken. George needs to be fired because each show is geting worst. also lets send in the Commando Pizza rolls to take out Snoory.

That's awesome. WCRN in Worcester,MA is a clinic in fucking up, they run commercials while their syndicated programming is playing(which would be cool in FM stereo...this is AM mono) they'll have dead air for segments. Suddenly, Laura Ingraham's show would be turned into Jerry Doyle's.
Best part...they play PSAs that are literally two decades old. Things for the American Lung Association Christmas Seals, telling the listener in 2013 to send in for these stamps by...Oct 31, 1991. No oversight, nobody cares.
