Art_s Farts

I can see Art coming back to do a Saturday night show, in the same time slot as "Somewhere In Time", as a way of sticking it to Premier

Meanandnasty

What is with  this half-ass?

Noory can do two hours of half-ass.

No offense to Art but he could be an ass and a half after George for two hours.

.50 ass + .50 ass =    2 hours at 1 ass

1.50 ass +1.50 ass = 2 hours at 3 ass

Total is 4hours at 4 full ass.  That is equilibrium ass.

Of course Ian can at times be infinity ass.

George Knapp is never an ass.

John Wells may smoke an ass.

All is right in the kingdom of ass.

Assuming premiere owns the whole art bell/coast to coast archive, I wonder a) how far back does it go, and b) I wonder how much they would sell it for?

LunarPond

Hello, I'm new here. I have a question, would anyone know how to obtain the old Art Bell Interviews with Malachi Martin?
I mean the ones from cassette like we used to order from Premiere Radio Network..back in the 90's.
I have the newer CD's but they are edited down to 90 min.! ...vs. the original 3-4 hr. interviews they really were.
Anyway, if someone knows where I might find the Full Length interviews, give me a shout. Thanks.

bigchucka

LunarPond:

I have a total of eight interviews Art did with Malachi Martin.  I found them as torrents and burned them onto CD's. There was a service called Demonoid that was shut down, so I don't know if they are still out there online, or even if I have all of the interviews that they did together.

I started listening to coast in 1994 in Omaha when I was eight years old and I have hardly missed an art show since. I stopped listening completely whey Noory came on as a host but managed to catch most of Art's broadcasts from Manila, and now I am able to listen every night again thanks to Shoutcast.  Every night on Instagram I post a screenshot of the one I'm listening to. :)

When I told my friend the other day "I HAVE SOME NEWS" she said "Is it Art Bell-related?" So that's love.

30 meters is a ham radio band.

In the old days of newspaper and magazine publishing, the use of the word 30 was used to indicate to the printer that the story had reached it's conclusion and was ready to go to press. It was not intended to be printed.

- 30 -

I use it at the end of my posts elsewhere to pay homage to the writers and journalists of the past.

Jack Webb had a pretty good movie called - 30 - about a night in the life of a night editor at a big city newspaper.

The late, great SF newspaper columnist, Herb Caen, used to use it at the end of his columns as well.

Unlike Caen, I used an IBM Selectric 2 with the correcting feature when I wrote professionally back in the 1970s for military magazines. I still use one today to write snail mail. One costs about $ 250-400 today & at one time you could get them modified to use with a personal computer.

I learned to type on one of those in 1988.  Actually, I had learned already years earlier on a Commodore 64.  My god, those old IBM Selectrics were built like fucking tanks.

Art Bell Show Victim Of Premiere Network Conspiracy to Silence Breaking Newsgreenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

Richard Hoagland's partner reveals that Premeire Broadcasting suddenly canceled Richard Hoagland's Guest Host Spot for March 18th after all arrangements (including anonymous governement employee guests) had been made. Perhaps Art Bell's retirement has to do with this type of censorship, which for long-time listeners (of over 10 years) has been very obvious for the last year or two. Art Bell was at the top of his game, but since the network was sold, his own self-censorhip has been more obvious.
http://bbs.rowlandnet.com/cgi-bin/WebX?14@221.TSBSNIRI^7@.ee77d78/142 I'd like to share a bit of information that is not public knowledge, which up until Art's sad announcement, we could not share: Richard himself was contacted to be a guest host for his friend, Art, about two weeks ago. The local Premier affiliate had been contacted and studio arrangements made for Saturday, March 18. Conference calls between Premier executives and Richard had taken place, covering all the possible contingencies; everything from breaks to bumper music, even how the audience calls would be answered from Medford, Oregon and forwarded to Albuquerque. Based on these conversations, Richard had invited 3 important guests, one of whom, as a current government employee, only agreed to be interviewed anonymously. This was all okayed by Premier Networks. Then, less than an hour later, Premier suddenly called back. It was all cancelled, another guest host suddenly switched into his "slot." Now, two weeks later, still no explanation given for this extraordinarly unprofessional behavior on the part of Premier. It is for this reason, unknown to Art's audience, that we strongly feel something "is not right" with this whole process. And the most important players of all -- you, the audience -- have not even been consulted! You, Art's audience, have collectively been responsible for a striking series of "public victories" over the past few years: from demanding of NASA and receiving new pictures of Cydonia, to literally "saving the Miami Circle," to obviously spurring Senator John McCain's recent "interest in the Congressional oversight of NASA," your input has definitely been felt on several major issues. So how come, in a world of polls and focus groups, for the most important decision affecting the entire Art Bell audience, you -- that Audience -- haven't even been consulted by Premier!?! What's wrong with this picture?! And what can make it right? Obviously, a little fundamental democratic input from this audience! Remember the power you have all wielded so successfully. Never forget the accomplishments your collective strength and perseverance have made a reality. What Art has created is a unique phenomenon in radio history: an involved audience, participating from the "fringe," and yet affecting REAL WORLD CHOICES. That precedent MUST be carried through on this decision ... which will affect the very continued existence of the Show he loves. Robin Falkov

Now let's consider: Robin Falkov is Hoaxland's lover, and she posted this on April 2, 2000. Does anyone think she's an impartial observer, or perhaps she has a vested interest in perpetuating sensational claims over critical reasoning.

Here is one response to her post:

QuoteMaybe they finally figured out that Hoagland's a fruitcake?

Why do radio and TV viewers feel they have some right to be consulted and approve changes to shows and formats? These businesses run like all others - to maximize profits and gain market share. If they make the wrong decisions, the audience leaves and they fail. You have no more right to have a voice in these decisions before they are made than you have to decide what colors Ford offers for next year's cars. The Art Bell show is not a big club of like minded folks - it's a commercial enterprise that exists to sell product. Now, if you no longer buy any of the strange junk that's advertised on Bell's show, then Premier will sit up and take notice.

-- Jim Cooke (JJCooke@yahoo.com), April 03, 2000.

Falkov is a nut-job quack, or at the very least, a charlatan ready to capitalize on the ignorance of the masses and take their money. Other than that, I see nothing more than a shill positioning her "partner" to grab more money.

....Now let's consider:....

I'd say that sounds like excellent reasoning, and I agree with your conclusions.

Anyone know where "meanandansty" is posting from?  Very likely someone who even knows about a post from 2000 was likely involved in it's posting - thus they are Hoaglund or someone close to him.

Also, it would be vintage Hoaglund to try to start a conspiracy to make Art Bell's comeback all about him.

I have no idea why Noory or Bell would ever book this guy, EVER.

I had missed this post.  This has to Hoaglund or someone close to him.

Trying to build another conspiracy to make everything about you, no matter how baseless or silly, is really sad, kinda pathetic actually.

Well this, and the fact that the poster seemed to burn with the white-hot fire of having been wronged, certainly makes me think it's Hoagland or his paramour. She's carried water for him many, many times before.

Do you think she (or he) is implying Hoaglund would have been the host of Coast had things played out differently?  I certainly never thought that as a nightly listener, Hoaglund became one of the most annoying guests as his conspiracy theories were so often completely baseless and he repeated the same ones over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over

I was going to mention that I was an old fart, then realized I am Art's age...  Anyway - my 2 cents - like many others, CTC was Art Bell. When Art left the airways, we all lost something. I don't consider myself a sycophant, nor am I devoid of a life. I miss the intellect, the conversations in the guise of an interview, the wonderful mysteries that are such a part of life, the humor, the real person. There is not much point in demeaning George Noory. He is simply not Art Bell. At the same time, I prefer to listen to someone who is Art Bell. That would be...wait for it...Art Bell. I hope I will soon get to hear that familiar voice from the high desert on live radio. Miss you, Art.  P.S. Bring along Mr. Punnett and Mr. Knapp.

Well said!!!!!  Yes, Art....please come back and bring Knapp and Punnett with you!

The only way Richard C. Hoaxland would host C2C is if they stopped having guests on and totally eliminated taking phone calls. Hoaxland loves hearing the sound of his own voice -- and no one else's -- far too much. Once he starts yapping, there's practically no shutting him up. Since he knows everything about everything, he feels it's his duty to enlighten the rest of us, especially so he can point out the errors in everyone else's thinking.

The thing is, if he wasn't completely obsessed with conspiracy theories and totally delusional about what he sees in photos of the red planet, he might be somewhat bearable to listen to in short spurts. He's certainly not stupid and he's definitely well-spoken. Unfortunately, he's plain ol' nuts.

Agree about Art and George Knapp. Easy on the Ian Punnett though; maybe twice a month just so Art and Knapp could have the same days off once in a while.

(But please, Art, leave John Be Unwell where he is -- unless you know some way to get him off the air completely.)

With the destruction of the current C2C can breed creation for Art and a new show. Wishful thinking maybe. I can't imagine that C2C ratings are good with the crap I've heard.

I really hope that Art will come back with some kind of radio program.

The Facebook crowd of Art Bell fans want him back Called the show with Norry all kinds of bad names. Said too many wack-a-doodles are on C2C including too much Hoagland. The haters are out there. Not just here.  there are many of us, and maybe we can get Noory off. He sucks big time.
