How is this relevant? I'm not quite sure what his personal life has to do with his career.

His immaturity will lead him quit the minute he doesn't get his way. IE Sirius. IE all the times he quit premrat.

Art has a new book coming out entitled "The Art of Quitting".

I am more concerned with Art's immaturity. Don't get your way, well then quit. How many marriages does he have? (Yes, I know Ramona passed away, but you get the idea)

I'm not sure about this. Larry King has had like 6 wives? And Carson had a few too, both of them had long broadcasting careers.

I can't wait for the film to come out that they made from "The Coming Global Super Quit."  Probably at the red carpet premiere Art will step out of the limo, give everyone the finger, get back in the limo, and it will drive away.  Then George and Tommy will drive by and wave.

I am listening to the prediction show that Art did before another one of his retirements in 2002. A caller predicted that all calls would be screened on C2C after he left. Ding, ding, ding!!!

So is anybody else finally easing back in to listening to old Art shows?  Taken me a while but I just listened to my first full show since November, the Officer X show posted elsewhere on the board.

I've been listening to Art's Dreamland archives.... I like them much better than C2C. I just can't seem to listen to 'The Chase' C2C intro anymore - but simply LOVE 'The Oh of Pleasure' - and there's too damn many music bumpers in most C2C archives. Dreamland was perfect ... except for LMH at the beginning of every show - but even some of her bits were entertaining.

Too bad Noory doesn't write one called "The Quieting" so we never have to hear his voice again.

This fact by itself doesn't mean a ton, but it means much more when coupled with his other actions.

WHEN art comes back, how will bumper music work. Will he have to pay certain lables royalties to be able to use songs?

Hmmm...
I know very little about stocks, but if one were to infer anything from this 1 yr map (April 2013-March 2014) of Sirius' performance, it looks like there was a nice increase in September followed by a rather sudden drop just after the beginning of November--and hasn't recovered since.  Just sayin'...

What I don't get in the high-flying world of corporate finance, is how a company such as Sirius can continue to pay exorbitant salaries to their executives while the stock continues to dive.  Not to mention Howard Stern's obscene $80 million a year?!  Is their wealth real or just an illusion...a charade?  How does the part about money going out, money coming in not apply to the corporate world as it does for us working stiffs??

You realize that a screener means that the callers that actually get through to Noory are the smart ones.

Haha, true that b_dubb!

But clearly, even Art Bell couldn't help Sirius XM now...they might as well just let him go.
Yes!

And the sequel, a year later: "I Just Realized I Walked Into The Propeller Of A Plane" (with an intro by Ed Dames)

This never gets old.  It's like a Paper*Boy cartoon come to life.  Tommy with his "little buddy."  ;D

It's the crowd scene behind the car that slays me.  A fat chick feeding her face, a second fat chick with its back to the car, as if offended, and the the third person looks like it has its hands up as if it were blowing its nose.
Yep.  That is one excited crowd behind the fat one and the dwarf.

Hahaha, yes.  I like the "Tommy and Jorch do a parade" photo where the kids are in the background, wondering what they did for their parents to subject them to such torture.  ;D  Jorch, do you really realize you are such a laughingstock?

What a pathetic observation.  How is the person eating, fat?  You sound like a pretty bitter & judge-mental  schlepp.  Aside from that, why is this in an Art Bell thread again?  Something  about Art quitting, flipping the bird and George does a drive by to crude remarks about how people in some photo look.   Hmmm Art Bell > making fun of people, any people.  What a boring waste of space I'm done pointing out.

Down the line, Art can make a single debut and I'll be there.  I remain concerned about age and health because a lot can change in two years.  I can't help but think how incredible it would have been to watch him grow in the time already gone by and how the two years wasted could have really been something special to leave his listeners with.  But the man is entitled to his own feelings.

My opinion is that something disturbed him enough to make that choice.  I just wonder while I wait if he'll be up to it.  Personally I don't mind fresh blood.  But another Art Bell?  Impossible.

I see that you're somewhat new to this forum, Fanatic... you will see that among the often very informative and astute observations offered by the members here, there are also plenty of random bits of rage and foolishness that come spilling over the discussions.  Yeah, the woman eating in the background looks pretty fit to me.  Man, if we can't go schlumping at a stupid community parade, I don't know where we can.
