Where did this quote come from, Jaz?  I can't find it on Facebook. Spill your sources, Man.  ???

Man to man, Jaz would have to kill you which doesn't seem to be Aussie nature. I've only looked at the music though.

Morgus

Art posted a couple comments to his earlier facebook post tonight:

Art Bell Well I think I know exactly who is behind all this and when you see my choice of time slots for the new show it will be obvious. As far as the Studio is concerned I can have it together in a Week. My Health save my back is just spiffy. If you look at how this all came down it seems plain to me.

Vicki Parker Wow....they must have been really threatened by you being back on the air and more then a little jealous I think.

Chris Knoderer If you did a guest appearance on a paranormal show where you call in and are interviewed and ask their "main guest" questions. I don't see how that would violate the noncompete clause. One way of sticking it to them. Funny thing. I think it is karma that C2C has been losing stations and listeners. I'm counting the days till you're back Art. Miss ya.

Chris Knoderer There have only been 2 great paranormal talk radio hosts EVER. Art Bell and Long John Nebel.

Danny Holshouser It seems plain to me that only one time slot would be appropriate and would also answer who's behind this w/o making you liable Art. Should I say it? I think most who follow you know what slot you would go for.

That's exactly the health issue I'm concerned with. Your back. From one chronic back pain sufferer to another...I know about those up and down days. Hell you had one doing Dark Matter.

Glad otherwise your health is spiffy!
(Only you sir would say that about your health

I'm curious about this Non-compete clause, as many are Art. Does it limit you from doing say a 15 min interview? If it does how is that competing? You did bellgab.

Would you be opened to touching base with your fans on Keith's Network once a week or twice a month?

Thanks for responding,
Danny

Art Bell No I do not think being a Guest would violate anything. I just dislike doing it. In the end the best revenge is simply doing a better show which is my simple plan.

It was definitely amongst the comments based on his status update the other day. Morgus has included another comment he made regarding whether being a guest would violate the NC which of course it doesn't. He just dislikes it. His revenge will be doing a better show and I can't wait. No really I can't wait. This 19 month thing is killing me. I'm impatient. I want it NOW!

OK.  I sleuthed around and found your other post on "Art Bell Quits Dark Matter," which pointed me to the small print on Art's FB page, and so I did actually find the smoking gun.

Thanks for confirming here, and MORGUS, thanks for the extended version. :-*

Interesting Morgus. The world according to Danny.

I've had to survive lower back injury (centrally herniated L3/L4 and L4//L5 discs) too. Not easy relying on workmans compensation insurance even when the pole was pushed on me instead of jumping off. Basically a matter of figuring out how to physically do things again to avoid the pain. I thought a medical operation could fix it too, but most likely the MD's were right about recovery w/time considering how complex the lower back is in relation to bones. It's been close to a 25 yr journey, ain't no spring chicken any more, and that learned allows me to split firewood w/wedge w/o difficulty w/perhaps new ways of moving giving a good whack at times. I didn't think my fingers got so cold so fast years ago, I deal w/that too, and I don't even know what some groundhog decided. What I want to see is if a very sensitive mulberry tree out back has a bountiful harvest (good eatin) in late spring. My Mom served asparagus she grew like no other till a mole couple ate all the deepest roots in winter a couple of years after I moved to CA. My blood pressure seems to be genetically low though avoiding being pissed-off. The dirt dug up and used, well, it's just part of the game, and exactly what TP was designed for.

Tomorrow still seems to be a new day. I think our sun going extinct was measured in billions of years.

The honesty that John Wells expressed on this interview was pretty darn cool, and it did make me respect him a lot more

I swear to this, I have said it before and I am going to say it again, the Art Bell and John Wells fans, regardless of political disagreements, now have a lot more in common than they ever thought they would

I think that little sneaking admission that ratings were better on Saturday than they were all five other days of the week shows us exactly why John Wells is gone, and shows us why Noores worked behind the scenes with Sirius radio to screw Art Bell and take his rerun timeslot away..

Don't for a second buy that John Welles was getting ratings way beyond Noory--regardless what Seas David claims.  Morton is a constant liar.  If Welles was doing that great--he'd have replaced Noory.

Welles can blame it on "conspiracy" but that is just more false paranoia from him.  Good riddance.

DesertFox

Yeah. I'm no big fan of Georgie but I don't see conspiracy kooky boy as vastly popular.

I hope art is so pissed he comes back on regular radio with DMRN stream. I don't buy that other radio networks wouldn't touch him. If he paid for his own studio and offered the show for the right price someone would jump. #4 most listened to host, within a year coast would be loosing affiliates. Money talks.

That or art will just cool off over the year and go back into his shell. We will see, the more active he is on FB and stuff the better

probably because Wells fully completed his 2 year contract.
He didn't quit before the contract with PremRat was up, so no need for a non-compete penalty.

Maybe he didn't quit, maybe he was terminated??

As I have posted on Facebook and as I promised on this Forum, as soon as I am released from the
Sirius/XM NC I will begin streaming my own show. The article so well written about JBW only confirms
what I have felt for YEARS.

I might have better luck asking Julie for a release of my NC.......I say this because while I was trying
to talk to Sirius/XM two days after I left, I simply could not understand why they were not responding
to my offer to return if they would only allow streaming until Sirius fixed their problems, when I finally did
get a response it was to inform me that Coast would be taking my spot on channel 104.

It is my feeling that "they" want me kept off the air, ho hum, I will fool them by staying healthy and kicking
their ass as soon as I can get free.

In regards to these numbers, how accurate are they?

QuoteNoory’s numbers are a paltry 275,000 to 300,000 listeners per night ... John B. Wells’ numbers were anywhere between 750,000 to 1.2 million listeners for any given Saturday night.

And what are the chances this is on purpose, as opposed to a retarded weekend board op:

QuoteCensorship was already being practiced on Wells’ show as all too often, his show would experience technical failures and  be taken down in large local markets by such things as Amber alerts or just plain old dead air. In contrast, Noory’s show rarely experiences the same issues. Wells said that the technical failures happened most often when he was interviewing a controversial guest in this first hour. Coincidentally, this past Sunday, my network reran the October 6, 2013 interview I did with John and the interview went silent. The commercials still played, but the dialogue between myself and John went black.

I hope you get a chance sooner than that Art.  As for John, I've no doubt he was kicking Noory's ass. For you who dislike JB's politics, so be it. But he's still a competent broadcaster. And he's not unwilling to give airtime to those who are diametrically opposed to him. He had a fully blow Berkley commie professor on two weeks ago.

Where were you during quitgate? :P

Jess was the Sirius representative who politely used canned responses to emails and online FB posts regarding Art. She became a legend around here. Last we heard she was shacking up with George.

Uncle Duke

I'll defer to the radio experts on here, but I must be missing something.  Is the claim JBW was fired from C2C because Noory was jealous of JBW's success?  If so, does anyone believe Noory has that kind of clout with Premier?  Wouldn't that mean the latest contract he continues to remind us of ("when we go to Mars") gives him total control of the C2C brand?  I find that hard to believe.  And if we take "the George was jealous" argument seriously, why is George Knapp still in the fold?  I don't know what the listenership numbers are for Knapp v. JBW (or Noory for that matter), but every indication here is Knapp is far and away the most popular guy on C2C.  And yes, I know Knapp was only a one-show-a-month guy, but even that should have riled up Noory if he's that insecure.

While I doubt Noory was sorry to see JBW go (nor was I), but I think the network made the decision more as a function of the direction JBW was taking the show during his weekly stint.   The longer he went, the less his programs seemed to fit the C2C brand. I quit listening to him for that reason, just didn't like his selection of guests nor his radio presence.

I discovered this website during the time Art quit. I was not a subscriber to Serius/XM at the time. I started listening to Art back in 1994, on KGO radio in San Francisco.

JBW didn't interview enough angel children to deserve tenure. If only he would have done one single "do all my favorite pets go to heaven and will jesus feed them all till I get there" show, he may have saved his hide.

Hi Art! Thanks for the update.
It wouldn't surprise me if C2C included this as a condition when negotiating with S/XM. To throw around their considerable weight, so to speak , in an effort  to keep you off the air, and hold you to the NC.
I'm really looking forward to the day when you can wipe the floor with these scumbags.

That's incredible news! I'm just now catching up on all the Dark Matter episodes on YouTube and really appreciate the new shows and content. You were really onto a good thing there and it was disappointing when your Sirius show came to abrupt end. I think we all support you no matter what you wish to do but to hear you wish to bring the show back in the future online is super cool.

I have many of the same interests as you do and to find your show as a 16-year old on pirate file sharing sites back on dial-up was like discovering the arc of the covenant. Now as a 29-year old it's honestly hard to take the current form of C2C seriously. Dark Matter was great and seemed to get stronger as it went. Honestly aside from Stern your show was the only time I ever considered getting Sirius but I had just discovered your new show right around when it started coming apart. I think your streaming online would be great as it seems that's where most of your fans are and that seems like the best to get attention for your show. You've always seemed to be about freedom and creative freedom, having those suits over you was a weird fit. Streaming online would be great as I think it would help people find you faster and give you the freedom to do whatever you wish. I also think people would pay to access old archives and special features where you could make some coin. There's great potential for you to do something online and I think that's where the innovation is today.

But yeah man, whatever you do whether it's a new kick ass radio show or sitting in the Nevada desert laughing is cool. We support you.

Julie Talbot, one of the shitheels at PremRat.

According to this article, she is the person that fired Wells.

http://thecommonsenseshow.com/2014/02/06/john-b-wells-fired-for-being-too-popular-and-truthful-an-exclusive-interview/

I recall her name from a Press Release last year gushing about how great George Noory is when he signed an extension:

“The continued growth and success of COAST TO COAST AM is a testament to GEORGE’s incredible talent and dedication,” stated JULIE TALBOTT, President/Content And Affiliate Services for National Media Groups, CLEAR CHANNEL MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT.  “Each year, GEORGE takes COAST to COAST AM to new heights, and we couldn’t be happier to extend our partnership with him for years to come.”
