A favorite memory of mine is the year I had no family nearby with which to share a Christmas dinner.  Two good friends of mine knew that and suggested that we meet for dinner at a favorite Chinese restaurant conveniently open on Christmas Day.  These two lovely Jewish ladies and I, WASP that I am, had a lovely time, and it was only afterwards that I stopped to really consider the multi-cultural significance of the whole thing.

Can't we all just get along ... heathens and holy-rollers alike? Merry Christmas, Gabbers.

One thing I have wanted to say.....  Bateman, your show is excellent.  The last three I listened to have all been good bordering on great (in this genre).  Thank you.

Just one small criticism.....your voice sometimes seems a little too quiet to pick up what you are saying when I listen.  Any way to use the wonders of science to make it more audible?

That is the only criticism I can come up with, so please take this as a 99% "atta boy." Thanks for the expected many listening hours into the future.

My sister and I went to the Master's Wok for Chinese Christmas eve. It was closed! so we ended up at Olive Garden (oh well). The calamari was ok the Blue Moon was excellent.
We went to Charleston for Christmas. Had a very untraditional dinner. Standing rib roast .Family outing to the Yorktown on the 26th.Hard to comprehend the size of aircraft till you are next to them.

Hi AZguy.

Basically, Art has/had a paranormal radio network he's now disassociated himself from called the Dark Matter Network. (long story)

Anyway, Sirius has him under a non-compete and he's not fighting it. So he's on lock down for a little under two years. If you want to read his posts on the board, go to "Members", find "Art Bell", then look at all his posts. He explains himself in his usual inimitable style.

Some think he'll come back, some don't. Who knows? Only Art. Or maybe even he doesn't know.

Dark Matter Network has some good stuff, in the mean time. Steve Warner's Dark Weekend and Nancy & Bill Birne's Future Theater are really good, and I'm sure there's a lot of other good stuff there, too.

Speaking of Art Bell in a sense, I was on the phone today and I got to talking about what I do on line and mentioned UFOs and without prompting the woman I was talking to said (and this had not come up in our conversation ) that her car and her were overflown in 1992 by a HUGE, triangular 4 football fields long UFO in Illionis in 1992 and many people saw it too at the same time. I advised her to send a report, even at this late date, to the National UFO Reporting Center as Peter Davenport has said that even old cases are important. What she saw was very similar to the giant UFO that Art and Ramona saw in the desert around Pahrump. The lady and I talked about it at length.

Is it possible Art was looking for a way out of his contract? I know there were technical issues but they were not universal. I had no problem listening to his entire show uninterrupted.

Sometimes when we’re not working for a while we forget how difficult it can be. AB had been out of the game for a long time. Then his life takes a dramatic change, it’s back to work - show prep, the show, commercials, bumper music, etc etc. He may have quickly realized it’s not as much fun as he remembered. Maybe it’s a simple case of being tired? I have enjoyed AB over the years and we even talked a couple times in the 90’s.

My feelings are mixed. I enjoy his programs but I do feel a bit betrayed. I bought Siriusxm and an FM transmitter just for his show. If he does come back it may take a while for him to regain the full trust of his core audience.
