I didn't see anybody post my comment yet regarding the sun guy...Lawrence Joseph...BUT, he expressed displeasure at Obama not talking about his plan for re-enforcing the grid.  Apparently Obama had some plan for this called 'Smart Grid.' I can't say. I don't know. ANYWAY.....Mr. Joseph told Noory that he (Noory) would be the only one who could debate the Presidential candidates regarding the grid.  That's when I shut that guy out and I hope to never hear from him again.

I was scratching my head at the thought that George Noory has the wherewithal and political clout to be able to influence a utilities infrastructure. Or to have the power to bring that debate to the attention of policy makers in Washington.

It was a grand example of a kiss ass guest.

NoMoreNoory

Strokemouth strikes again! Say what, George? This from his introduction to last night's guest:

'Greg Hartley's expertise interrogator first earned him honours with United States Army. More recently, he has drawn national level intelligence with organisations and international media. He has trained government agencies, private investigators, finance experts to read people detect deception.'

Serious question. Is he dyslexic? There has to be some explanation for these train wrecks which seem to me to be growing in frequency and which always come when he's reading written copy. How can you have as much experience as he claims to have had as both a reporter and as a broadcaster and be so completely amateurish and incompetent? How can you, as a professional, let such drivel escape your mouth and not apologise or correct yourself? Does he not hear it, or does he just not care? Do Tommy and Lisa not hear it, or just let it go on the assumption that no-one is listening? I am absolutely baffled by it. And I'm sure it's getting worse.

Meanwhile, the Noory ego appears to be growing in inverse proportion to his talent. The recital of his schedule the other night has already been noted, but it came in response to a question about how 'one', i.e. people in general, might cope with unpredictable hours and broken sleep. Noory gave us his schedule at great length and completely ignored the caller and his question. Someone also commented that he'd been at the Toronto convention earlier this year and told George how much he'd enjoyed his interview with, I think, Stanton Friedman. George's response? 'What did you think of my singing?' The caller said it was 'surprising'. Noory gave one of his snorted laughs and asked 'Is that all I'm getting?' Last night he was on about his upcoming tenth anniversary on Coast (January. You can imagine the barf-fest that's going to be. Makes me hope it will all end on December 21st), and when a caller launched into a full-on bout of ass-kissing and called him a teacher, did Noory deflect it with a professional statement along the lines of 'I'm just the host: it's the guests who have the knowledge?'. Oh, no. He lapped it all up, happy to accept his status as guru.

The disconnect between his perception of himself and his actual ability to do his job is reminiscent of those tone-deaf auditionees on American Idol and The X Factor who believe they are genuinely good singers and will round on Simon Cowell when he points out that they can't sing.

Bottom line, Noory. If you can't sit behind a microphone in a studio and read words in a coherent manner, you're not fit for purpose. That doesn't make me a hater, George: it's just a plain and simple statement of fact. Give up. Resign. Quit. Just go away. Please. You suck.

I see the schedule for this weekend and next week on c2c is up at the c2c website now.
Unfortunately Noory is hosting Sunday night as well this week and look at what he has planned for that night: :o

Hosted by George Noory.
First Hour: Dating coach and motivational speaker Marla Martenson makes an in-studio appearance to discuss finding that 'special someone.'

Oh please, noooooo!!!
Well, I know what I will not be listening to that evening.

But wait, there will probably be a lot of, puke induced, audio morsels that I can use in word of the day..........
Oh god!      What have I done to myself?

A caller in the final hour tonight asked Noory for advice on resolving her terrible claustrophobia problem.
Noory recommended she get a past life reading and he thought maybe she had a past life experience of dying in a closet? :o

Not so fast, George - maybe the mother got locked in a closet when she was pregnant with her. ::)

Noory also managed to work in another mention of Batshit Gorgonzola, his psychiatrist/paranormal researcher aunt. Turns out she was his father's cousin, which means she wasn't Simple George's aunt at all. I'm thinking some C2C listener travelled back in time and nudged that radio into her bathtub, knowing that if she had lived into the present day, she would be a twice-weekly C2C guest. Two members of that family on the show at the same time - Jesus.

She's been on before (I think it was her) and is also a 'Beverly Hills Matchmaker'.

Does that sound to anyone else like George is getting free, um, dates in return for an infomercial?

OK OK I'll admit it's petty but I absolutely hate it when Snoorey greets his callers with nicknames.  F'rinstance "Hello Peg from Vacaville!  How are you dooin' Peggy?"  or  "Next up Francis from Tulsa!  Hey there Franky".  He coouldn't go anywhere with Cornelius but I was so hoping for a "How's it hangin' Corny?"

Here's a theory - George is not writing the copy.  I've seen that kind of copy written by young, inexperienced folks - such as interns.  Anchors develop the talent of reading copy with the words passing directly from eye to mouth and failing to go through the brain.

So my theory is that some intern or low level employee is writing the copy, sNoory fails to look over it during his 8-hours of show prep, and then just reads what's on the screen as he introduces the guest.

sNoory sucks.

I wouldn't be surprised. He managed to introduce a call from a Dustin recently and then greet him as 'Duss'. I love it when he inverts this process. 'West of the Rockies, here's Jim. Heeey, James!!!'

On Thursday's show, after confusing philosophy with psychology in the intro, George asked the guest if there was any difference between the two.

I find it disturbing that GN actually thinks he is being cool and hip by doing this.  It's rude.  Most people don't appreciate someone butchering their name.  It's a reflection of his slimy, selfish character.  He really believes that he is this immensely talented, suave and sophisticated intellectual.  He has delusions of grandeur for sure.

Other radio hosts make mistakes too, but they usually acknowledge it, laugh at themselves or apologize.  Noory just keeps going on like he's doing an awesome job and thinks he deserves respect for his work.  Something is blown in this guy's circuitry.

Maybe Noory actually hates himself and beats his head against the wall every night saying "stupid, stupid, stupid".  I doubt it.

George just bragged again that as a random act of kindness he "got cataracts" for a caller several years ago who was in desperate need.

He's talking about the common surgery to *remove* cataracts from one's eyes.

Hopeless ...  ::)

Wait, he may have meant he got contacts for the caller. Or maybe caterpillars? Or could it have been "cat traps", like if the caller was overrun with felines? It's George, so who the hell knows? With a 32-speed Osterizer for a mouth, the possibilities of what he actually means are endless.

Might have been 'cattle tracks' or 'Cadillacs'. Something really creepy about a man who boasts about his good deeds.

Fantastic! Highly anticipated: not disappointed. Selfishly, it's just a shame it's Word Of The Week, rather than Of The Day
Anyone catch him, when talking to the sun guy with his 5 year old's questions ('Mommy, is the sun very hot? Would I burn my hand if I touched it? Is it made of, like, Jello?' 'Oh, for heaven's sake, Georgie, why don't you go outside, look directly at the sun and ask it yourself?' 'OK, Mommy'), turn 'liquify' into 'lickrify'?

His suckage is the gift that keeps on giving.

I think it`s time for a mass consciousness ...thing-a-majob.

What say we all like-minded folks that agree sNoory is the worst thing since New Coke, concentrate realllllllly deeply and ...do that ...mass consciousness thing-a-majob where shit happens because we think about it, and get the hell RID of that menace to late night talk radio!

Concentrate on the Mayan Calender end date (Dec 21, 2012)
That was supposed to be Noory's original planned retirement date when he took over c2c ten years ago, so make it a reality...

Subject: Friday Night's Guest

I really enjoyed your guest, Chad Lewis, last night.  However, why not ask him to discuss the SPECIFICS of lots and lots of cases that he didn't put in the book (so as not to spoil a good read)...........but were still intriguing and creepy and fun to share?  It seems as though every time you get a guest with a "library" of great stories to tell, we never get to hear them.  The focus on the white lady with the callers was OK.......but, the focus with Chad should have been more on relating case studies that would make your listeners feel goosebumps.  If you're only going to give him two hours.....then get to the "meat" of the book, not all the details about how it was put together.  We want to hear the ghost stories!!!!!

And, once again, you left us hanging at break about a great story Chad was in the process of telling......and, after the commercial, Chad wasn't given the opportunity to finish the story.  That is so frustrating!

Has anyone here ever emailed coast to coast and actually got a reply back?

ItsOver

Similar thoughts here.  As always, not only does Noory not add anything positive to the show, he detracts from any interesting guests.  I kept wanting to tell Noory to "shut-up and let the guest speak."  Instead, Noory goes off on his personal fixations and boring personal side-stories.  The clown just doesn't get that the show should be about the guest and NOT Noory!  A good host would set the table and help the guest weave some magic, if possible.  Instead of hearing the guest talk about another specific case, we get to hear Nitwit Noory talk about stopping at a convenience store and having an exchange with some poor person trying to hitch a ride.   ::)  Premrat would be better off hiring someone at random from a street corner than Simple George.

I don't know if it was mentioned before but Ghost to Ghost is going to have a (likely boring) first hour guest again this year with Snoory hosting. Between that and the dull stories Noory's callers seem to have it'll be a show worth skipping.

I got an automated reply from Lisa's Inbox, telling me she was on vacation. After the specified date passed, I emailed again to remind her that she was now back in the office and I was looking forward to receiving her reply. Still waiting......
Otherwise, no. Not so much as an acknowledgement.

I sent Lisa a link to the website of a frequent caller who always managed to provide clues to a link to his anti-Semetic, anti-Catholic site. The link didn't work for her for some reason, and she replied to that effect, so I sent it again and haven't heard from her since. I also haven't heard that caller since, so ...

At some point George will start claiming to have been visited by his fathers ghost.

The only reason Aunt Shafica hasn't showed up yet is because Georgie hasn't thought of it.

I've gotten several.  Let's see, the first one was a sincere email pointing out some ways he could improve and his response was I must be one of 6 or 7 people with nothing to do but post about him on line .  I've gotten 'hater', 'pond scum', at least 4 or 5 calling me a 'low life', the final one he told me it was time for me to 'depart'.

It was a lot of fun getting under his skin.  I think he's either blocked my email address or doesn't reply as much anymore - at one point he'd responded to most of mine - if it was really Lazy George and not some intern.  Never got anything back from FastBlasts though.
