I can't stand how he goes into breaks.  9 times out of ten I just get this feeling like he's being a dick about it.  I know that he has to take breaks and it's part of the show but the way he does it for some reason always comes off like he just arbitrarily decided it was time for a break... like "fuck you and your story break time!!"

This is totally true. Art Bell would always be like "Now there's a great time for a cliffhanger! We'll be back!" and he'd pick the thread back up. Noory literally stammers and cuts people off, then goes into something totally unrelated when the show comes back.

The one time I was on a lengthy (4-hr) radio program, I was in-studio (the woman's basement).  I actually wrote down what we were discussing before each break and reminded her during the bumper music coming back so that it was cohesive.  George not picking up where they left off, despite the promise to do so, always annoys me.

I think I've worked it out... Art obviously enjoyed listening to radio as well as broadcasting. Noory, not so much.

This bother's me especially when I'm listening intently to the guest.  I've been going through funky's archive and grabbing just shows that I find particularly interesting.  Dead sea scrolls, forbidden gospels, some of the weird non-BF crypto, and of course astro's fav, planet X crap.  The guest will be speaking about something particularly riveting and building up to some sort of point that I'm waiting to hear about and then a break will happen, or George will interrupt with some stupid question... the guest ends up going down a completely different path and of course there's never any effort by our host to come back full circle... I HATE IT.

Art would leave you hanging but then always deliver.

How many (bees) does it take to kill a human being?

sNoory's obsession.  At least he didn't ask how many it takes to kill a child.

If it were announced one day that Snoory has alzheimer's, how would anyone tell the difference ?

=======

I had a long talk with my Mother about my family and that's what me think of the above.

on a serious note, one of my aunt's and my brother in law both have alzheimers

it's been devastating emotionally and financially to my sister and her children.

he's slowly fading and has lost 26 pounds in the last month

problem with alzheimer's is that you slowly fade and yet periodically the person is lucid for a bit and then goes off into the twilight zone again for awhile

the expenses of keeping him in a nursing home are terrible

hopefully one day there will be a cure

and I'm very sorry about the death of andy williams, though when I was a kid I thought he was singing " moon lizard " because that's what I thought I was hearing.

took me a long time to find out it was " moon river "

This is my number one complaint about George.  Well, this and his inability to ask the obvious follow up (which is related suckage).  I could live with all the rest, but not these.

Back before I realized he sucked so thoroughly, I sent him an email pointing it out to him that he was doing this, hoping he didn't realize it and would change.  He sent back an email that I thought was really strange at the time - he said I was a 'hater' and that there were only 6 or 7 of us and that we had nothing better to do, or something like that.

It wasn't until later that I typed 'Geroge Noory Sucks' into Google...

Are we talking oral or suppository?

ACE of CLUBS

George doesn't have the intellectual depth to ask follow-up questions ...... he interrupts constantly with some inane quip, and often de-rails the guests point.

If the Pope were the guest, and was telling the audience about the Vatican connection to UFO's,  George would butt in to ask the Pontif ..... 'what's your favorite color' ...?

It becomes an endurance test to listen to George bumble around.  I find that it's more pleasurable to ram a sharpened pencil into my ear, than have my ear contaminated by George and his mis-pronounced words, mumbled sentences, off-track comments, and disturbing personal stories.

The really sad thing is that George will never get better at his job ........ it's all downhill from this point

My addition to George Noory is this.

COAST TO COAST AM Mysterious Pyramids & Puzzling DNA 09.27.12

A perfect example of George on autopilot or is that too kind a way of describing him?  :)

MarkVS

I remember when Noory first started doing Coast to Coast and Art was still doing some shows and hadn't completely retired. While listening to a show George was doing, a caller called in and seemed to be a nice person and jokingly said something very matter of fact that that was something to do leading up to the story he was about to tell. I was something very very slightly sexual I think, or maybe something like he was so scared he made a wet spot in the floor -but it wasn't BAD at all! George cut him off right then! I wish I could remember what it was but I remember thinking at the time that the caller did NOT deserve to be cut off at all. George went on to say, "we can't have and will NOT have that kind of talk on this show" or something similar. I remember thinking that Art would NOT have cut that caller off for something that MINOR..........And then there was another time he did it AGAIN!

As slight as it might be, George does get a tiny benefit of the doubt; and that's because of the fact George is living and hearing 7 seconds ahead of what we are. So there's the possibility, unlikely as it is, that he indeed heard something he knew would not pass muster, and so he hit the "profanity button" that skips the offending words on the playback we're hearing.

Or he was just a dickhead.

Or both.

He once said his delay was longer than the usual 7 seconds - and that makes sense as he is slower that other talk show hosts - it was something about 'crazies' and people that just wanted to talk about Art Bell.

It would be an interesting experiment among the people still listening to call in, get on with George , and see what the delay is.

haha, the way you wrote this sentence seemed to suggest you were a bit less sorry to hear of his death due to the "moon lizard" confusion.

"Filling in for George, John B. Wells hosts guest(s) TBA in the first half. Followed by Open Lines."

I haven't been this excited for a show since Sunday!

thats because Noory wants his show to be "G" rated for little kids.
Art ran his show for adults...  8)

Lazy Noory is up to his old tricks it seems, he is taking off yet another Friday show tonight and John B. Wells has to fill in for him...

I'll look at the positive side.  No Noory and no UFO Phil.  Did Noory book a gig for crooning Andy Williams somewhere?

Regarding the delay ... When I called in on Monday, the delay on my phone line was maybe 1 second.  Between my phone and the KOA online radio station out of Denver that I was listening to, the delay was roughly 70 seconds.  Between KOA and a station a friend was listening to in Wyoming, the delay was another 15 seconds or so.

Is KOA the campground/camping company?

I think Noory does a completely nonsexual "G" rated show because he doesn't want to offend his elderly mother.  He has said she regularly listens to his show and I guess that even a "PG" much less a "R" rated comment would meet with her disapproval.  And Noory's clearly a momma's boy who is probably afraid of his mother.  At 62, he's still not his own man.  Hasn't he said that he calls her regularly to discuss the show?  Just think of it, C2C is often geared to the sensibilities of an 80+ woman.

ziznak

I don't think noory has ever uttered the word sex, sexual, or sexy... it always comes out as "that sort of thing" or "foolin around" recently... besides the mom effect I think his radio persona is supposed to be VERY G rated.  Even a funny story about pissing pants like MarkVS mentioned is tooo much.  His prudish nature is pretty funny to me at times.  He's like a little awkward prepubescent child that hasn't gotten a grip on his sexuality yet.  Girls are icky!!!

Just heard the C2C ad for tonight's show.  Noory announced 2012 is "the fastest year ever!"  Thanks, George.  ::)

But this wasn't a delay simply because the caller had been on and introduced himself and where he was from and was already INTO what he was telling. I guess he could have said something at the delay but I think whatever it was that made George cut him off got on the air. Like I said, I've heard this happen two times that I know of. I know that Art will put the "recording" over the delay if someone says something like that but he would come back on the air telling them to watch their language but he wouldn't cut them off.....and then the caller would apologize and continue.

aNybody trying to listen tonight?  what a waste...  Friday shows always seem to suck... ya know... more than the usual suck we get the rest of the week.

Hey Ziznak:  Like your "free Obama cell phone lady" avatar.  She'd be a great guest for Noory.  Just imagine the flow of utter stupidity between them.    If Noory wants to and has already dumbed down C2C, he should go all the way and make it a real, certified, freak show for pure entertainment.
