Some of you have sent me personal messages regarding my help/support for Art if he choses to return.
I have already contacted Sirius/XM to express my endorsement of an Art Bell/Coast Channel on 104. I didn't get a no.
If Art wants to merely stream, I would assist him there as well in any way I can. And lastly I still stand by my offer to him (as I did when he was first on Dark Matter) to invite him on Coast to Coast to discuss his new show, etc. I got no response to that.
I would like nothing more than for him to enjoy his career because without him, Id not be where I am today.
Ive taken many hits from you regarding the show and that's ok. We can all grow and fine tune, but to blame us for knocking Art off the air is unfounded and quite simply inaccurate. We were coming back to Sirius/XM regardless of whether Art quit or stayed.
If he emails me and wants some assistance, Ill be there for him.
Any other issues, Id gladly address once MV decides to put me on the coastgab podcast.
Until then keep up the fight.
GN

I am perplexed why anyone would write to Mr. Noory regarding HELP with this issue, but maybe I'm missing something, here.   :-\

Hi, been awhile.  Did I hear correctly that George + C2C are on Sirius radio, taking Arts place?

bmcintyre

George...hmm  I was reading the past notes.  George's messiah complex comes roaring back.  Art does not need you George.

Mongoose

Folks George is a class act and a gentlemen.  There is room on the air for both Art and George and many more.  I started listening to Art years ago and he got me into the whole late night talk radio thing.  So when I heard he was coming to SiriusXM I was thrilled.  I think one of the major issues with his show on Sirius was that they didn't do a replay during commute hours.  When combining this with all the bugs from the SiriusXM Stream he simply had no patience for it.

I listened to maybe 6 or so of Art's shows and was disappointed, not only with SiriusXM, but with Art.  He's very rusty and did a sub par job when compared with the work he did pre-2000.

The problem with Art is he is thin skinned has a huge ego and quick to quit. For him to be successful, he will need to be his own boss, because frankly after this and all the other times he quit, no one will want to work with him.  That is no one willing to put their own money at risk.

Regarding George, I like his show and his style.  He may not be as gritty as Art, but frankly that wears thin after awhile.

Welcome back!  Yes, C2C with your "favorite" host is now Sirius, on Art's old channel 104.  It's been a running soap opera on the "Art Bell Quits DM" thread.  Enjoy!  Even our buddy the dolphin has given up on Jorch, but as we well know, Flipper can speak for himself.  :)

I will "out" myself  as someone who did.  Speaking only for myself, I asked George to be so kind as to facilitate dialogue between Art and Sirius whereupon he would return to Dark Matter with some sense that his issues were being addressed/resolved.
I believe George respects Art (not just platitudes but sincerely) and was actually relishing the chance to have a block of alternative programming from Dark Matter to Coast that would drive up the quality of both programs.

bmcintyre

Well, that would be nice.  However, I do disagree about Art's present shows.  I thought he connected well with his guests without being patronizing.  George, not so much.  And, I have listened to George forever.  George steadily went downhill and right wing.  To me it was not so good but it must have been ok or else we would not have continued listening to him.  Anyway, to each his own I guess.

Personally, my opinion is that the "fans" need to stay out of this. Let the lawyers work this out.

This is of course excepting the "Free Art" campaign which I think is brilliant (if ineffective).

Let Art, George, Premrat, Sirius, and whomever deal with it. Too much at stake here (A career late in life).

I will be calling about the German village that has the equivalent of Mel's Hole.

The village is called Friedart Buell.
