It's weird, I kinda feel the same way.  I think maybe after hearing Art's show recently, I realized clearly how divorced c2c is from what I once loved about it during Art's reign.  I think I see it now as a different show altogether, just another radio show really.  And by comparison to all the awful stuff that's out there I guess it's hard for me to dislike it more or less than any of those other ones.

Robert Young Pelton is going to Africa to hunt down that Ugandan rebel war criminal guy, Joseph kony.  George guessed that most of his audience had never heard of him before.  I suppose he thinks we get our news listening to him mangle it every single night.  Introducing Erich von Daniken George said Chariot of the Gods was released in 1988.  When Erich corrected him (it was released in 1968) George said it was a "typo."  Wasn't this one of the books that changed George's life?  And he didn't catch the error?  Later Daniken would talk about how a lot of the world's religions are waiting for the return of thier god in some form or another, and I thought about us, roaming the dry barren desert of mediocrity waiting for the return of Art Bell to lead us to a far far better place.  Maybe that was too much to expect from the poor guy.  Maybe his job is done and we're gonna have to lead ourselves.  This forum is stronger than ever.  George is fooling no one but small children and the elderly.  The deathstar had that weak spot that the rebels took advantage of and Luke realized he just had to let go and...use...the...I don't know where I was going with this.  You suck, George.  Intead of trying to shut down this thread I suggest you get Producer Tom to highlight the big words and practice practice practice.

George Noory is the kind of guy who, in combat, would give the enemy all the information he had.  Regardless of how many of his own men would die because of it.

Get Tommy to underline the small words too, with particular emphasis on the word " small ".
$noory has trouble with s words because he slurs them.
Maybe $noorge needs a teleprompter.
Or one with a portal attachment so he can leave the show and pop back in when the guests confuse him.

I was disappointed when I saw DM's first weekly line-up.  I was comforted by all those here who said "oh, he's just trying to get his mojo back / oh, he's just trying to acclimate new listeners to his gig" etc. etc. 

Frankly, I think it was more like Art poaching C2C-tier guests.  I was hoping for Art to come back and breathe some fresh air into these topics, not go panhandling for the  (losers) that get recycled on all these shows. 

I agree.  It just wasn't very good.  Now, the first guest was fine and I liked the (blast from the past) Reed saga revisited. His producer might have been working on some more promising guests, but why launch  DM with less than stellar material?  You can't say that there wasn't enough time to prepare.

No, I've been awake. Noory is simply not my white whale. If I compare him fairly against what else is on the radio, instead of comparing him to Art Bell, and he stands up well. I don't step out of bed each day shaking my fist at the sky and yelling "that god damned Noory!" and tossing a dart at his picture before having a stroke over how much a loathe him.

I do do that for George Lucas, but that's not the point.

Noory's not above criticism from me. I did not like the Oates deal, I thought that was in very bad form. I also sometimes wonder about his motives, you're either competitive against another show or you're not. If you're acting competitively and opportunistically, which George seems to be doing, then you are in competition despite claims to the contrary. But I'm careful not to lose perspective.

I'm with you. (Including the Lucas thing.) I, too, did not like the Oates jab nor do I care for George's current avatar with a king's crown.  Be careful not to count chickens just yet, GN.
But given the pall of radio (choices like Levin, Savage, Hannity, Cunnigham, Malkin, Ingraham, and the rest of the echo chamber) or pale imitators like Ground Zero, I have to give C2C credit for staying on top.
I mean, the other night Ground Zero tried some lame ass "ghost in the studio" dick around worthy of Dish Nation.  Come on.

The only reason they're on as many affiliates they are is because they're all ClearChannel stations. Non ClearChannel stations that air Rush are also usually required to take C2C.

I didn't think I'd be back here. I guess instead of writing: "congratulations, you got your wish" I should have written: "Enjoy it while it lasts because Art has a history of bailing". Perhaps Noory will use this episode to improve, but I doubt it.

George, on the very slim chance you read this, I have some advice: For once in your life break out of your mold and stop being the go-along to get-along guy. Make C2C into something original instead of a big infomercial every night. I doubt you have much say about guests, but if you do, drop all Art's tired old hand-me-downs. Drop the Numbers Lady. Drop the New Age 'create your own reality' huxsters. Drop the dull mainstream scientists. Drop your past astrologers until you can find one who actually knows the subject. Your last astrologer guest said Mercury was retrograde when Mercury was actually several days away from turning retrograde. These folks are boring and they can be found everywhere. One thing you DO have control over is this: STOP cutting off callers in the middle of an interesting story, and START cutting off callers who drone on about their personal problems. This is talk radio at it's very worst.

I am very informed about alternative health. These are the only shows you do well. You seem to have a knowledge base on the subject, and because of this you ask pertinent questions. These are the ONLY interviews you do where you actually have a dialogue with the guest, rather than grabbing your cue cards willy-nilly. Most of the time it sounds like you just shuffle the question cards and pick them at random. I know you can do better George, because the health shows prove that if you are putting effort into the interview, it is better. This is an opportunity to make a change. Even if you can't change the boring guests, you can make an effort. It irritates me that you mangle almost every sentence that leaves your mouth, but I could forgive this if you would just do some show-prep and make an effort to do a better interview. I hate tv. I don't have one. I love talk radio at night, but it frustrates me that all I have is C2C, and it gets worse all the time. I was really looking forward to Duncan Cameron, and was disappointed when he was yanked. Please try to get him on.

     Jerome Corsi on the war with Iran that was supposed to start a year ago, and the year before that, and the year before that.  An open lines caller sounded like Bobcat Goldthwait.  I don't recall what he was talking about.  I was impressed with Goldthwait when he was on a while back.  Janet Boyer had one of those magical mystical surreal c2c guest moments about two hours into her interview when, with a slight gasp and pause, she wondered: does he know he's asked me that question twice already?  I love it.  Play the ufo phil song, George.  You win.
