I'd rather see new people come in all the time. Besides it's not really a race, because its like comparing apples and oranges, Dark Matter as a show is its own thing, and regardless of Noory, Coast is its own thing. It's like saying you'd only watch one Late Night TV show when there are a bunch of them and they mostly all suck anyway.

It is statements like this which prove what a downward spiral society is on. I would have paid for Art's show back in the 90's after hearing it for free once. For those who would rather hang around for free cheese, good luck lol, the man is worth every penny

I listened to a Schnoory show from last week today because I was bored. He had some astrologer on. I had to laugh though because this lady called in and asked a question and then ended with "...and if you don't know the answer I'll just ask Art Bell on monday". Dead silence from George. I had to share this. Made me chuckle with delight.

Thanks for the suggestion to get both intelligence and creativity, or I could just download the show from Youtube later but again it's not really about that. Like let's say for example that sometimes if I'm working at night during the hours Coast to Coast AM is on and all I have is a pocket radio available, what other live show should I tune into? I can't listen to Red Eye Radio, those guys are obnoxious jerks! Unfortunately Jorch is the only thing that's on, but this shouldn't have to be the case. The public need not be stuck with Jorch as the exclusive host forever no matter how much he brags about his contract! I know they've not changed him as of yet, but we can still hope.

Anyway night time weird radio doesn't have to be a two horse race and even if you credit Art Bell with having pretty much invented the weird format, that does not mean that the topic it addresses are exclusively his. There's plenty of room to experiment here.

I know Art Bell makes an entertaining host, I used to listen too so I'm not knocking him completely, and if anyone wants to pay for XM to hear him, I'm fine with that. I'm also fine with XM radio which a person might like to have anyway.

Do you have any idea how many night jobs allow one to listen to the radio while working?  There are day time jobs as well (think trucker).  Where it is the odd day job that allows such things, night jobs almost always allow work and the radio to coexist.  Police officer, security guard, trucker, gas station attendant, taxi driver, equipment operator repaving your highways, fish and wildlife officer (ranger? in the US.)  This does not even touch on occupations such as mobster and hitman...  Honestly, if you want to be paid to listen to the radio, a night time job will almost always allow that (come to think of it, almost any career as a criminal will allow the same thing while you case joints or wait for victims.)

I now have the image of Tommy writing down the comments that Art makes and the questions that he asks on the "infamous" 3X5 cards and shuffling them.  He need not even wait for the same guest.  Tonight Art had asked a question about disclosure; Noory could ask the Loch Ness monster guy the same question.  Art had made a comment about a bullet with your name on it and being intimidated into not showing the world your invention... Noory could make the same comment about disclosing information about the Loch Ness Monster.  this could be enough fun that I would tune in again if he started reading these cards that Tommy is undoubtedly producing for him.
