I know Hougland's gotten crazier and crazier over the years. Him and Art were really close friends at one time. I remember when Richard suffered from his heart attack and Art sounded pretty floored by it all and there were the "mass good thought's for Richard" experiments Art put out for him. Then over time Richard started to get a little crazy and Art sounded like he was fed up with his out of left field theories. Maybe Art can reel him back in some. It's nice to see old friendships last through time.

Hello fellow Art Bellers.

Can you help?  I just signed up for Sirius, got it, downloaded the app, but cannot find an access to channel numbers, just categories of show topics. There's no search...where the heck is Art gonna be at? I can't plug in "channel 140" anywhere.

Please confirm that this will be on a Los Angeles news and information station.

Thank you for your help.

Not sure if this helps, but it is station 104, Indie Talk Radio, once you find out how to enter it in.

Under categories, go to entertainment. Indie Channel 104 is there. It's the second one down.  Click on that and then save it to your favorites.

Just to be sure, this is the "no credit card required" deal?

I just joined. No cc was required. It took 5 minutes and it's working.

If you use the one link, all you need is your name and email.

Thank you for your help, Bellers!  You're a good group...peculiar, but good!

yeah i just tried it too it worked right away.
only stuff you enter is your first and last name, a zipcode and a valid email address.
then you get an email with your 30day trial password, the user name is the email address you entered.
they have no way to start charging you after the trial is over and the account management doesn't work so I can't enter a credit card even if I wanted to, or change the username or password.

On my desktop PC I brought up the browser (flash based) player using Firefox v23 and tried channel 104 right away and that worked. Howard Stern channel 100 also worked.
I even tried recording the stream via the Total Recorder software and that worked too.

If this no credit card trial deal keeps working for months, perhaps you could start a new 30day trial after the first one ends, and just a different email address and name?

The site probably logs your IP to keep people from signing up with different emails.

I've always wanted to be "Art Vandelay."  ;)

Well, I knew this would drive me nuts (signing up for Art when I had no need of Sirius, not being a Howard Srern fan).  So there is an "entertainment" place...the number two slot was, I don't know, Opie and Andie or something...no mention of "Indie" or the number 140.  I just want to listen to Art, is that so wrong???  I wonder if I downloaded the wrong app?

Just to be sure, but you're looking for channel 104 not 140.

I agree, its hard to justify $15 a month for one program.

Yeah, I was laughing my ass off last night. What a fitting sendoff. Goodbye, Dave. You will not be missed.
In so many ways I agree with your statement.  However, I wonder what will become of this forum and all of the posters whose company I really enjoy?  It is far easier (and more entertaining) to laugh at failure than to post praise night after night.

How many days until posting about Art gets old?  Questions such as "did you hear the way Art nailed that interview?" and comments such as "Art does it again- another classic show!" will begin to get old.  I only want to read how great it is to have an interviewer who is engaged, uses proper English words and asks good follow up questions so many times.

While Dave killed Coast, he has provided years of material for the brilliant minds here to dissect.  Art will never provide us with a pizza roll incident, Mexican kidnapping, dead raccoon hairpiece, or worn out question such as "how are yewwwuu?" to poke fun of.  there will never be an eyepad thread with Art asking "could it be angles?"  So much of the humour and cutting wit that makes this forum great may end up lost.

Now, I am not advocating we all boycott Dark matter, nor am I saying that I will be tuning into Coast nightly for my laughs- just saying that there may actually be something that we loose as this section of the board dies and Noory fades to a memory.

Hi, I would suggest you explore..I personally didn't think I would find other shows of interest. You have 30 days free to navigate it.

I just discovered channels covering film and arts. Film reviews, arts talks of galleries, etc. Wow. But, it took a bit of time. I'm now so amazed by the range for all tastes, all audiences, that I'm considering investing in a SiriusXM radio. Give it time. Again, this is free for a month. It was less than five min for me to join and I'm no techie.

I think rather than lampooning the lame host, this will allow us to actually discuss the material of the show finally.  With Dave you can't get past the host.  With Art, we get a good host and hopefully good guest, so we can discuss the topic now and concentrate on that.

Yes!  My dyslexia must have kicked in!  I still don't see an easy way to find Art!  I'm queuing into a lot of Mexican stations.  Luckily, I like the music.

Hit "Shows & On Demand" on the bottom bar. Hit "Shows by Show Name" & scroll down to Art Bell's Dark Matter. Click on that, then hit the little windowpane icon & then "Add Show to Favorites". Done.

Yup this. I just signed up yesterday and I've already listened close to five hours of 80's music, and film scores.

I highly doubt people will use their memberships just for Art after they get to use if a bit and explore it.
Their is immense value in the service you just have to explore a bit to see what you like.

Lots of sports channels too! Discovered I'm a huge baseball fan earlier this year when I got free tickets to a spring training game..I think there may be some covering figure skating too. Stumbled on classical music, so much there as well. One show dedicated solely to Handel. Yeah, my Christmas present of a new set of oil paints is questionable as I want that radio. MoMa (Museum of Modern Art) is linked to SiriusXM too, I think. Stumbled on it while googling.

I signed up with Sirius for the free trial with no problem as well.  I still need to set up the radio though.  Shouldn't be too tough to finish the job.

Also, does anyone remember who posted about the UFO sighting in new Mexico?  I finally was able to check it out with my friend from  NASA.   He said it was a UCAV-unarmed combat air vehicle.  Your tax dollars at work carrying massive amounts of deadly Estuff with no human at the controls.  Major moral problems he says.  It is a joint venture project.  I was thinking what a cool guest this guy would be for Art to interview.

The zepplin-like party ship I mentioned at the time is rolling out for a round of funding.  It Should be all over the media soon. It's called Dragon Dream and is only a prototype kept here in Ca.  They are looking to build a massive one.  No chance that was what he and his family saw.

Wow, that Bottomfeeder crack (no pun intended) really cut deep didn't it, I think George needs to come back to apologise. I don't think you're a bottom feeder.

He was just being friendly.

Hey BM!

I do love this thread.  I keep coming back but I go to bed earlier than everyone here.  I read the Noory posts from the other website.  They must be paying Noory in breath mints.

Sounds like everyone is onboard with Art.
