Being a bit of a skeptic when it's called for is not necessarily 'challenging' the guests or having a 'confrontation'. 

What's wrong with having them back up their comments, or asking for clarification when something isn't right or doesn't sound right, or just telling them what they said is a little hard to swallow. 

A host/guest situation doesn't have to devolve into a shouting match the way a debate between 2 guests often would.

Right, I understand that, my point is, I think it's a foregone conclusion that the reason your affiliate number is as high as it is is because ClearChannel clears you on all their talk stations.

At the end of the day, would you rather have a smaller number of bright, curious listeners or a "huge" number of mouth breathers? I would love to see some AQH numbers because I know a large number of affiliates does not automatically translate to a huge audience. There are plenty of top-of-the-dial AMs that probably have 5 listeners at 2 in the morning.

Look, you don't have to defend the "success" of the show, but what I do think you should defend, and take pride in, and work at, is the QUALITY of the product you put out on a nightly basis.

George, no one expects you to be Art. Art is Art, he's one of a kind, but when you have guests making outrageous and unproven medical claims, or calling conspiracy before facts are in, as an interviewer it's your job to ask questions, to really delve into what they are saying so your audience is informed, not fed an infomercial. People who see angels or Bigfoot are harmless; people who claim they can heal your wife or husband aren't.  And questioning the government is healthy. Leading people to believe there are FEMA camps waiting to intern them isn't. That's what challenging is. It doesn't mean confrontational.

There were invitations, to post here, from elsewhere? I don't mean to sound like a prosecutor, but some folks want to know why you chose to post here at this late date. They may think that Art's new show was a motivating factor in your choice to post here and now. They might think that there are "no coincidences", so would they be wrong?

Agreed, Art also let a few others get by with some outlandish statements. At the same time he didn't make statements that have been proven to be wrong. Such as abiotic oil and vaccinations are not necessary.

Potentially.  Depends o the alternatives, cost of production and potential revenue from alternative content. It is just down to math. You can be an embarrassment but still provide accretive income because of low production costs and a lack of live programming alternatives. You are a known quantity and Premier can force package your show with other content to smaller markets if they want.

That's not the point though. The show you host is terrible. Have some pride. Listen back to your performance as a host.

That's all harmless entertainment as you say. Promoting statins or baking soda as a cancer cure isn't. Art, btw, did ask deeper questions when his bs sensor went off.

First of all you base coast on comparisons to Art....

I'm not sure that's the issue. 

Look at the threads that feature discussion about George Knapp and Ian Punnett.  Most of the posts there are positive.  People know they aren't Art Bell either, but can still enjoy their shows.

You get emails full of complaints.  Aren't they more or less the same 8 or 10 or so complaints over and over?  Those specific things are what bug people, not the fact that you aren't Art Bell.

Yes he did. I listened to madman marcum interview yesterday. He asked specific questions like how's this possible. And asked him to clarify things. And if there was inconsistencies they got pointed out.

This is what we are looking for!
Also comparing veterans being on a watch list to a crazy guys time machine, or a guy with an alien is not responsible!!!!!

Let me explain something:
First of all you base coast on comparisons to Art. Ive said all along Im not Art. The show has changed its evolved. 9/11 did that and everything that went with it. My God do you think a network would keep me around for 10 years past and equal that in the future if we werent successful in all areas. YOU ARE ENTITLED to your opinion and Im here to learn from you, but please understand this show is at its peak in ALL areas. Im not blowing smoke up you----highest affiliate count, highest ratings, and it just keeps growing. I dont expect the dire hard past friends to like or even understand what Im saying, but its a fact.
Can I grow, fine tune, absolutely ---Have I made mistakes.....he who hasnt cast the first stone.
Let's move on, let's have some fun and enjoy. My gosh when this is all said and done Ill be 90!

Okay, assuming this post was at least partly in response to my last one... First of all, nowhere did I say anything comparing you to Art in any way.  All I said was that C2C used to be a great show.  But for the record, although I believe Art is the best host, I think George Knapp is excellent and John Wells is good (although many on here don't like him).  And even though I am not a fan of Ian Punnett's style, I think he also was a decent host.  Rob Simone was good too.  In my opinion, any one of them is a better prepared and more professional host than you have been the past 10 years.  So really, it has absolutely nothing to do with comparing you to Art.  It's really that you either haven't given your all or that you aren't qualified.  One or the other.  And all these so-called stats about ratings, affiliate counts, etc. - if even true and accurate - says more about the declining educational system and corresponding reduction in intelligence level in America than anything.  It's like saying because those stupid Kardashian "reality" shows (or any of the others) have been on TV for umpteen years or however long, they must be good too.  Basically, those numbers mean exactly squat to discerning listeners of C2C. 

I'll be one of the first to congratulate and thank you if you really do rectify the many things we've all taken issue with over the years.  That's really all we've been asking for.  I'll even change my user name to "NooryIsMyHero" if I can.  Unfortunately, it may be too little, too late.  But I do give you credit for having the stones to show up on here - if you are really George.
