Let me explain something:
First of all you base coast on comparisons to Art. Ive said all along Im not Art. The show has changed its evolved. 9/11 did that and everything that went with it. My God do you think a network would keep me around for 10 years past and equal that in the future if we werent successful in all areas. YOU ARE ENTITLED to your opinion and Im here to learn from you, but please understand this show is at its peak in ALL areas. Im not blowing smoke up you----highest affiliate count, highest ratings, and it just keeps growing. I dont expect the dire hard past friends to like or even understand what Im saying, but its a fact.
Can I grow, fine tune, absolutely ---Have I made mistakes.....he who hasnt cast the first stone.
Let's move on, let's have some fun and enjoy. My gosh when this is all said and done Ill be 90!

I don't think anyone expected an identical product, but you did inherit HIS show, and most people here clearly feel you have not been a good caretaker. As far as show growth is concerned, I think a lot of it can be attributed to Premiere, can it not? It's my understanding that they package you with Rush, so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it, though admittedly, I am not sure how hard the affiliate relations guys push that end of it. I know most, if not all, Cumulus stations carry Red Eye in lieu of Coast.

As far as "confronting" the guests, don't you think it would be responsible to challenge the natural health quacks, or better yet, not have them on in the first place? I don't think you're a bad guy, but this is genuinely irresponsible. As someone with a background in journalism, I think you know that.

Ok so Brinkley who is a proven fraud can contradict himself about the government putting vetran a on a watch list. George it's responsible to challenge that. What's his proof! Listeners want to know!!!

That's just an example of what I mean by challenge guest.

People want you to challenge guest because the outrageous claims are unbelivable otherwise.
Also guest like Hoagland and dames are wrong again and again.why should a listener waste time hearing them out if your not going to challenge them!?

George can you at least ask what facts the bases of guest outrageous claims are rooted in. Not to harp but Brinkley for example made the claim about the watch list and then got all wishy washy on the claim.

Art did the same thing though.  It's not a science show.  Where was Art's challenge when guests went wayyy off in left field like John Lear, Mel, or even Hoagland?  That's what I always liked about the show, it was a 'make up your own mind' situation.
