Earlier this evening, a few pages back, noory stated that "the stations like the variety", and his team listened to the stations. Therein is a huge part of the problem. (Ya writtin' this down George?) A GOOD radioman doesnt listen to the stations. He listens to the audience! The folks at home tuned in! The people who ARE the ratings!!! After all, arent they the target? Arent you trying to gather up more listeners?
Ratings are a tricky game, and I can tell you, overnight ratings are laid out differently than dayparts. Losing the longtime flamethrowers had to hurt. You may have more stations now, but Coast has lost the big stations. Art did you a huge favor by going to satelite. He very easily gathered up 10 or 15, well placed, 50 thousand watt beasts and laid waste to C2C in mere months. That many big stations would nearly cover all the territory your collection of peashooters do at this time. Less fuss, less muss.
Bottom line, you must put your listeners at the TOP of the list. Not the stations, not the corporation hacks, and certainly not the sales reps. You do the show right and the sales reps will be too busy taking orders rather than giving them to you. Just my ten cents worth...for what its worth.

There were actually two "classic" shows when george was at the helm.
1. The night he kicked William Henry to the curb. Noory himself said he didnt "get it."
2. The night he chickened out and didnt use the weegee board.
Both shows had unexpected elements and some rather amusing excuses.

It clearly was not George Noory joining the forum tonight.  Apparently, it was a staff member, relaying to him what to say on air.  I vote Lisa Lyon as being most likely.  She's intelligent, women are generally much more adept than men at making conciliatory (both fake and real) statements, and I've had email from her and been in the C2C chat room with her, so I'm somewhat familiar with her style.

Jorch could never have pulled it off.  He has neither the intellect nor the inclination.

Good point.  I knew it wasn't George, but also was pretty sure it wasn't Tommie either because of the tone and he should have been working the calls and other tasks.  I never thought of Lisa, but the comments did seem like they could have had that shpecial female touch.
