The ONLY way I can address this is on the air.............so lets see what I do with them

That would be 'let's'. And quit with the rows of dots. A comma, followed by a subordinate clause, or a period followed by a new sentence would suffice.

And I disagree. If you're going to join in the conversation here, join in. If you refuse to engage with constructive criticism here, you only prove our point. I would be happy to discuss the points I raised above with you at length. Do it, or go away.

I guess my question is, why have you taken 10 years to respond here? I doubt any sincerity in your posts. Not that it is required. I don't wish you ill, but you have pretty much ran c2c aground. Maybe that is beyond your control... management can be destructive. But your skill in interviewing is concerning to me as a listener. So much so, I stopped listening more than 2 years ago.

You called us haters, and I guess I can understand that. But did you have no insight into the possibility we may have had some validity? I don't mean to take you to task, however I find little else to discuss. You had such an opportunity and in my eyes you blew it.

I am very suspicious of what ever the heck is going on here.
It is entertaining, but, I am concerned BellGab may be negatively impacted by this divide-and-conquer strategy.
Anyone notice since a certain person arrived in the last 24 hours there have been very few posts to the Art Bell tread?

My husband pays for the C2C subscription since chicago/50K watt station left the city.
We listen to SIT every Saturday, and George Knapp when he is on. We used to listen to C2C during the week, but rarely anymore. I try not to listen to any other shows on the archives so that hopefully the download numbers can reflect some collective opinion of the hosts we like and do not like.
He did set the reminder so when the insider subscription is due to expire we will not renew. We added Sirius Online so once September 16th comes we can listen to Art Bell, who WE adore. And we mean that, not just saying it.

You have absolutely got to be kidding me. You actually do have a degree in communications? Really? You worked in a news room? You did PR work for the Navy? I don't want to insult any elementary school aged children, but you write like a second grader. You can't be taken seriously.

I have news for you: if you were my car, I would have put a $50 bill on the dash, parked you in the worst part of town and purchased a new vehicle. You can't 'tune-up' a car that's been driven into the ground for ten years. You can't make a Yugo drive like a Jaguar just by hoping it will.

Since you're here, George, and mv has confirmed it's really you, I'd like to tell you that after discontent building up over the years, my personal tipping point came when you began having medical quacks on with so-called cancer and other serious illness cures.

I'm not talking about harmless turmeric, which is a joke around here, I'm talking about people who should be behind bars who prescribe baking soda or 'statins' to desperate, vulnerable sick people. If you are really interested in the truth, as you frequently say, a quick google of some of those names will bring up interesting information about lawsuits, FDA investigation for fraud, and a lack of meaningful, serious, double blind professional trials. In their way, they're worse than the Sylvia Brownes who prey on grieving people; they prey on sick people who may forgo proven medical treatment and die as a result. And those shows of yours which give them a national listening audience enables them.

BTW, I'm not one of your so-called 'haters', just someone who thinks sick people need the truth and not bullshit from hucksters on a national radio program with a host they trust, god help them.

Do you regularly surf the internet during the show? I ask because back when I still listened to the show I often heard what I would've sworn was typing. I remember this because it was so distracting I once sent an email about it. Could that be reason it seems as though you don't really hear/aren't interested in what the guest says?

Gnoory

Why do you doubt my sincerity. Yes I called SOME of you haters, and those who have posted extremely mean spirited things are and they know who they are. You probably know who as well. Why did this take so long to pop in, I actually expected to be attacked on all fronts yesterday and it didn;t happen.

Like I said last night, we have 10 people who love us to the 1 who does not, but it's the one who doesnt that I learn from. Not the true hater, I cant learn from them , but many many of you who listen day in and day out,---that's who I want to listen to.

Was it timed to Art's show, not at all. HOWEVER it was a wake up call for me. I have fought back at those who have emailed
rude and insincere remarks, that's me. BUT NEVER will I take the first volley.

If someone doesnt think they can grow and learn everyday then they are kidding themselves. Bellgabers, I am far from perfect
and realize that I can get better. A few things you DONT know. I was born with a someone deformed tongue. Dont laugh!!!
You should have heard me as a boy. It took me years to challenge myself to talk before a crowd, etc. I did that and Im dam proud of that, my military career (yes Ive said before I never saw combat) and the people I care deeply for.

And yes that includes many of you. Im not Art, I'll never be Art so dont compare me to him. Ive kept this show alive when it was near death. We have grown it and now I'll take your pointers and make myself even better. Gotta run

Well I guess Ill just have to prove you wrong.

You know what?  I don't think a tiger can shed his stripes, so I won't ask for much.   I'll settle for your Friday night open line segment to be completely unscreened.  The calls go directly to your desk.  YOU pick up the phone and deal with what's on the other end.   YOU go into the unknown not knowin' nothin'.

Give it a try.

That'd be a start.

10 years of listening to George parasitically kill a beautiful creature called c2c.

This. I have a very nice pair of headphones and when I used to download the show, I swear I could hear him typing while guests would ramble on.

You should watch my nooryism videos. they are quite funny.

With all due respect George, last G2G hallween killed it. Even Art made his first anti-C2C the day after Halloween.

All we got was crappy first half of news stories (which we can get off the web) some boring callers, and a recorded 30 minute audio clip of some H B Wells book that Id fall asleep reading.

I'd like to tune into Ghost to Ghost and hear something that will keep me up all night, not make me want to throw the radio out the window.

NO news stories on the first segment, No reading, No massivly long commerical breaks... just some good ole ghost stories that set the mood of the 1 time a year holiday.

Actually, you are correct.  If you follow the show closely listen for the type strokes and then his response to the guest afterwards...  most of the time he will be quoting directly from Wikipedia.

oh God George, take some turmeric.  Don't get your panties in a twist.  Just stop being contemptuous of your listeners and start performing at an "A" level.

There are four types of people in the world.

1. Those that like us for the right reasons.

2. Those that like us for the wrong reasons.

3. Those that don't like us for the wrong reasons.

4. And those that don't like us for the right reasons.

The fourth group is the only one to take heed. They will make us better people.

I doubt your sincerity because it took you 10 years to respond.

Either way, it is your show. I wish you good luck. I won't be joining you.

I give props to George and/or staff (probably staff but as long as the information is being spoon fed to George then that's fine) for coming on here to trying an address any issues that the general pop of this asylum have. I think it's a shame that many posters dislike for the direction the show has gone has turned into hate, juvenile behavior and petty name calling (myself included at times) but that's what years of our perceived mediocrity of a once loved show will do.

Whilst I do not fit into the demographics of the show and their target audience (being a dirty foreigner) I was a paid up Streamlink subscriber for many years. I stopped my subscription in 2008 which was probably a few years too late not because I lost interest in the subject matter but because I thought the hosting was sub-standard and it just seemed like every show was being phoned in. The interviewing technique seemed amateurish. The follow ups weren't genuine follow up questions they were just the next question off the cue cards that often asked a similar thing that had just been bought up. At times I wanted to throw my iPod out of my car window.

The shift away from the paranormal particularly in the first part of the program really irked me too. Also the trudging out of the same tired old guests, spouting the same tired old things without every being challenged just bugged the you know whats out of me.

I never expected anyone to live up to Art's legacy and they are might big shoes to fill but I just couldn't bear to listen to mediocrity for a minute longer and that's why my association with Coast ended 5 years ago.

I give you credit for trying to better the program but for this Aussie it is too little too late. My old flame is back and no matter how many times I've been dumped by him you always go back to your first love.

Now that I think about it, when I'm multitasking on my PC, i can't concentrate on an outside conversation. Makes me wonder if THAT is why he always seem half there on his show when he's interviewing guest.

Mystery SOLVED

Wait a minuto son, you said you took it from a failing radio show to the show that it is today.  I wonder what Art thinks about that.

eddie dean

well that was interesting! I think it got too hot in here for GN.
but one thing I had suspections about was confirmed,  his speech problem.
That does suck! I for one, who has ongoing health issues, so I understand his frustrations, but you know, a lot of broadcasters have had issues with speech, like Tom Brokaw, and made it work for them.

Gnoory

Not Art....Art brought it back to life. It was another host, we had gotten down to 333 stations.
