George Noory Sucks! - The Definitive Compendium

Started by MV/Liberace!, April 06, 2008, 12:23:02 AM

Can Noory pronounce anything correctly?

No
No
George is announcing CKNW in Vancouver will switch the broadcast from 12:00 to 10:00 pm live on September 2nd.  That's my home and my birthday.  Thanks for the shout out George.  Too bad I'll be trying to find ways to listen to Art Bell.

I can't belive my ears:
"Dancing Queen" by ABBA as bumper music.  >:(
yeah Noory plays that song often for the last hour on Friday nights...

I always forget the psychiatric term, but Dave has to have the predisposition of no feeling or emotion like most people normally have.  He reads the shtories about hurt/dead kids, or hurt/tortured animals just like he's reading the ingredient label on his pizza roll package - with no emotion, sadness, disgust,  or whatever most people would have.

Antisocial disorder or sociopathy.

If he plays "Boom Boom Ba" I may just throw my radio through the window!

Childish George, who apparently thinks Art Bell owes his something, is going to play Art's bumpers as a way of 'claiming' them for Coast, to try to get a little dig in, and to convince anyone on the fence that he truly is a small person.

Thing is, the instant Art's show starts, all George's nonsense is going to be forgotten, and Art is going to play whatever bumpers he wants - a mix of the old ones and some new ones.  The only thing anyone will remember about Coast with George is that it sucked.

He's really making a point of how many stations/affiliates C2C has, etc. tonight too.  You can definitely tell he is reacting to the good news about Art.

Oh, really?  I never listen on Fridays because is Open lines. I only listen to C2C when the guest or subject is very interesting to me.

A lot of long, dull, multi-part, meandering calls tonight.

Yeah, he's really letting some go on WAY too long - yawn fest.

I haven't listened to a whole Noory-hosted Coast this year. Judging by your post, things haven't changed. Boring and meandering callers always got preferential treatment. If they had bad health reports, they went to the front of the line.

Another prize winning exchange about Lizzie Bordon:

Dave: What year was that?

Guest: 1888

Dave: Did they have newspapers back then?  :o

Newspapers have been around in the US since the 1700s. Idiot.

Thankfully, they didn't have dumb radio hosts back then.

George sure did sound solemn during his "guest who have died-they died-they were all my friends and they died" show yesterday.  As I recall, the genesis of this show occurred a few months back (documented on this thread), and it went something like this: "hmmm...a lot of our guest have died...maybe we should do a show on them...Tommy, come up with a list of dead guest and put something together, will ya?"  That Ray Manzarek  was a character.  He may be worthy of a hunt for everything Manzarek on youtube obsession.  George told Engelbert Humperdinck  that he'd been listing to "Please Release me on youtube for six months so I could learn the words."   Six months.  To learn the words.  I wanted to Know more about Rebecca Pitmann's  murals.  Bateman's ambush was glorious, and while George's reaction should have come as no surprise to us haters, knowing the sneaky weasel that he is, I wonder what true clueless Noory fans thought of it.  Considering that up until two weeks ago George included Art Bell in his nightly sign-off, then he says he "absolutely" would not be a guest on Art's new show, should raise questions even for the most die hard Nooryites.  Art has a new show?  George didn't mention it?  George hates Art?  What's going on here?  I've noticed George is attempting to engage his guest a little bit more.  Way too little, far too late.  And yes, a Klingon Opera has been written in Batemans honor.  Lots of exclamation points.

Bateman (left): And you shall pay your respects to the House of Bell immediately!
Noory (right, held back by Producer Tom): Never! Never shall I set foot where desert devils conspire!

So NW is going live with Coast now? I wonder how that will affect Sports Talk since that has been a staple until midnight basically?

Did Art Bell come up during Open Lines last night?

valdez,  thank you for posting these amusing summaries to the forum.  They function as a nice Cliff's Notes version of the C2C show, and I've followed up on some of the more interesting topics via Google.  You are saving countless hours of suffering by listening to the show in our stead.

Are you planning on doing something similar for Art's show?

I found this board again after a long absence.  I used to  visit years back when my hatred for Noory had crystallized into a deep, dark loathing that I carry till this day.

I particularly hate the way George can't pronounce the word "research".

I also hate his utter disregard for the audience. How, last night for example, he displayed a complete lack of class by trying to get laid on the air.  Art never would have done anything like that.

Art is genuine.  I still remember Art telling us all about the night Ramona died.  It was so real and touching. I teared up.  Even though Art probably pretty much killed her by smoking like hell in the Winnebego, it was kind of like a confession. I was touched.  Besides, who hasn't made a few mistakes?

But now to hear the news of Art's return!  It brings such joy to my heart.

I hated Art for what he did, quitting and leaving us in the hands of a semi-literate cretin.  But I understand he's sorry now for what he did.

I loved his show and can't wait til it starts.  I've never had satellite radio but I'll be getting it now.  It's a small price to pay, when you really think about it.  A year's subscription is about the cost of two of those shitty, 1972-style radios that George is always pedaling.  The kind that probably still have fabric over the speakers.

Anyway, sorry for the long post and thanks for the laughs.

Does anyone else detect a distinct change in Noory's manner since Bell's announcement. Suddenly he's trying to engage the guests? And playing A LOT more of the old Bell picks in the bumper music?  Noory spent enough time in the Navy to understand a shot across the bow.  But trying isn't doing.  He's knows he's going down.

Yeah, I heard that word salad, too.  He sounds like he gargles some words.  And how modest of him to note that his own efforts to sing a Humperdink song (which took him six bloody months to learn!) were "not in your league".  A clueless moron.

I agree. I don't think Art is losing sleep over Noroon or his team's pettiness. They'll keep their core base of gullible rubes just begging to be fleeced, while Art will still be the master as every single press release has said, and will play and say anything he damn well wants. Shoot, people in the industry can't even get Nooron's name right, while six years on the name 'Art Bell' still has traction.

i wonder what Arts been listening to since he last left... jeeez I'm even imagining what his bumper music will be like now...

oh yes... GEORGE NOORY SUX

Has C2C been playing that DiedintheHouse.com ad for a while?  I heard it for the first time last night.  Man, PR has become a pretty classless outfit.  Oh, sure, it's a paying customer, but wow...  Of course the regular C2C listeners will probably be all over that number.

What's wrong with this sentence?

I was wondering that too.  I'm quite certain Noory said 980 on the broadcast but it's possible I got it wrong.

I'm honored. The reign of terror has just begun though. :) Get ready for Act II, Jorch. We're a long way away from the Fat Producer singing.

I agree.  I never respond much to Valdez's summaries but it's not due to lack of appreciation.  I always enjoy reading them.  It must take a bit of willpower not to jump on everything Noory does throughout the night.

I first heard it about a week ago.  It's pretty creepy.

The last time I heard them play it George asked his guest afterward "would you like to know if anyone died in your house?"  She said no.  This was followed by a moment of stunned silence as George probably realized he just sunk his sponsor.
