Can Noory pronounce anything correctly?

NoMoreNoory

Amongst the many asinine statements and non-sequiturs from last night, I found this brief moment of simple hilarity:

Start at 0:09:53 and wait for some sweet forked tongue action.

Oh, and no eloquent way to put this really:
IvannZ, go read up on the first amendment, go fuck yourself and please suggest to "George and his group" that they do the same.

don't make it look like a news item that might mislead people.

It's even worse for Noory and his imaginary lawyers. If the above were true, The Onion would have been sued out of existence years ago. God Bless the First Amendment.

Thanks MV! Just sent:

Mr. Noory,So, word around the Internet is that you've actually threatened legal action against various George Noory Sucks websites. Really?! Oh please follow through with that! The burden of proof would be on you, sir. You see, you would actually have to prove that you are fit for purpose. And while there are some fantastic lawyers out there....none of them, to the best of my knowledge, can work miracles. If you were able to prove that you were a competent broadcaster, you'd not hear a peep from "haters". We have AMPLE proof to the contrary, sir. Bring it on, and subpoena us all. We'd love to get up in a court of law and attest to what we have been subjected to for the past decade. P.S.  You may want to read up on that thing we call the First Amendment by the way. Good luck, you sad little man.
George Noory. Guilty of sucking in the first degree.

you'll have to copy/paste the address into the "to" box of whatever email you use.  clicking it probably won't work for a lot of people.

"Dear Mr. Noory:

I understand you've instructed your attorneys to explore legal action against websites which provide a sounding board for those individuals who have expressed their vociferous disapproval of your competence and effectiveness as host of Coasttocoastam.

I can hardly imagine this is true. First because any person who has been what the law calls a "public figure" for as long as you have would almost certainly know the futility of such lawsuits. It's almost impossible for a public figure to meet the "actual malice" standard which the law requires. And here's a hint: "actual malice" is a specific term of law, and does not mean what you think it means.

And secondly I can hardly believe a public figure such as yourself has such terrible management as to allow you to embarrass yourself into looking like a thin-skinned, whining child by trying to sue regular citizens who are simply expressing their opinions that you are a dolt. But then your lawyers may be interested in sucking you dry in useless legal fees as they "research" a suit against your internet detractors. I suppose they could be quite happy to be paid $500 an hour to read dusty legal cases which decided this issue against you many, many decades ago. But maybe, "Give the client what he wants" is their motto.

Finally, while I'm sure you've been reminded, it cannot be said too often,  "truth is an absolute defense" in defamation cases. If, for example, you were to sue someone for saying "there has never been a major radio host as incompetent and stupid as George Noory", it would mater not what else you proved if a jury were to find that you were, indeed, the most incompetent and stupid major radio host in the history of the genre.

Are you really willing to have a jury answer that question, Mr. Noory? And remember, your mother will not be on the jury.

Hoping you are well, I remain sincerely yours,

If He does mention us at all,He will just say a handful of haters. If He does try to sue,I doubt it will be mentioned at all on C2C

Wonderful job, especially your mastery of the backhanded compliment. Bravo!  ;D

HorrorRetro

I love all the letters to Noory.  I don't listen to him anymore but, from all the new Nooryisms and his increased inability to properly form words, I'd say the pressure from the "haters" is starting to get to him.

Please tell me you have sent this off to him?

I am always interested to hear the disclaimers at the start and end of any radio show dealing with certain topics (think the little voice that tells you that the proceeding is not a solicitation to buy or sell stocks and that the guests of the program are all paid employees of the advertiser unless otherwise identified.  The views expressed are not necessarily those of the station or the management.)  I am pretty certain there is a reason they always run that disclaimer.  I notice that it has always been absent on Coast even though it has turned into a giant infomercial selling everything from cancer cures to financial advice.

Just thought that I would post that on the off chance that Georges or the rats (pemrats?) crack legal team really is reading here.  You know?  That advice about cleaning up your own cesspool before diving into another.  At least strain the water/sewage in your back yard to get rid of the chunks and floaters prior to offering to help others clean up their little corner of the world.

It entered my repertoire on Oct 20, 1990. The day I saw Goodfellas, where De Niro uses it on the cops tailing him.

So thats where that is from. They don't make movies like Goodfellas anymore. Ray Liotta dripping sweat and being followed by the police chopper and then Liotta and Bracco flushing all the coke down the toilet-those are the kind of scenes that stick in your mind for 20 years.

My oh my. Fellow members, all of you deserve quoted post replies, you really do. Many good points, too many to list in fact and I  :) to each of you personally.

I still can't get over the fact that a radio personality of the supposed caliber that he thinks he is would dare even mention threatening listeners of his show with lawsuits and him showing up on their doorsteps with a ballbat because they disagree with and make jokes about him. Seriously, wtf? Isn't this man a senior citizen? He should know better if he had the experience in life he claims to have.
This alone suggests Georje never really got out much in his long life.

Sardoni. That was so beautiful, I just about have tears in my eyes. I've resorted to signing in and typing this on my phone, so you know I must be moved.  :'(

It's been said here before, but I'm sure GN's daily, private life is one of epic sadness.  I'm guessing that the level of pathos, regret, and boorishness is so great, that you couldn't even script it.  If you were to make some kind of screenplay out of it, and DIDN'T make it a comedy, but rather a stark and honest look at a lonely, dim-witted man who benefits from "occupational welfare" lotto ticket of a lifetime... we'd probably be winning academy awards for it.  I'm thinking John C. Riley's cop character from "Magnnolia", but even more sad and boorish.  And not funny, nor loveable.  Damn, I think I've got enough for a script here.

Make it so!  I want to read this, I really do.
