is it possible that Noory has Dupuytren's Contracture? It's a genetic disorder that results in tightening of the ligaments in the palm, pulling the fourth and fifth fingers inwards. Prominent sufferers: Frank Sinatra, Margaret Thatcher and Bill Nighy (brilliant British actor, not the Science Guy).
Doesn't affect the brain as far as I'm aware, but you know what? You never know.

It was 5 or so years ago, I was at an event and hit the button to call the elevator.  Door opens and there is noodle and Tommy and no one else and I got on.  Few seconds into the ride I turn to noodles and put my hand out and he puts his out and we shake while I am saying "George, you're doing a great job, I don't care what Art says about you".

I am pretty certain that this is code decipherable only to the scorpion army.  See how Jones is cheering and rather than a high five, George is giving a high 8?  The guy with the headphones on (obviously on the line with Art) is off to the side and relaying messages for George.  Well, it is plain to see that the scorpion army is to expect Art back during the eighth month (and August is almost here...)

I can't figure Wells out.  His interview questions are goofy.  Is it his delivery or what?  Seems like 15 random thoughts tied together in every question.  It really doesn't engage the guest at all.

Gone will be appearances on shows like Ancient Aliens - anything already in the can will be re-edited, the GaiaTV gig has already more than run it's course, the conventions won't be able to get Art Bell but will no longer want Noory. 


The slow ratings drop and loss of listeners curve that had finally started to flatten out after 10 years will plunge again and continue falling.  At some point it will be fatal to the show.

Which is quite a bunch yet to go. But then it was just a few months ago that we were at 20,000 posts and 667 pages. Besides, if the Compendium moved liemthe ArtBell thread, it would reach the next landmark in about the time it takes to watch Gone With The Wind. Things are just snowballing here at CoastGab. I think you're right. Assuming Art does announce something that pretty much comports with everyone's heartfelt desires and isn't a total Lucy-football-snatch, there should be a couple of days of triumphal posting about George's and C2C's hoped-for demise, etc., and then people will pretty much move on. Because there will be no reason to hate George Noory, and people will have better things to do, like post about Art's show. Right?.........Uh, right? 


Okay, "no reason" might be a little strong, since Noory did:
1) waste 10 years of tens of thousands of people's lives - maybe hundreds of thousands;
2) subject us nightly to excruciatingly painful displays of incompetence, idiocy &, finally, total disinterest; 
3) almost singlehandedly destroy the world's leading overnight & alt subjects radio program.


Hmmm. So, uh, it might be better to just forget what I said about that "no reason to hate George anymore" stuff I said. There will always be plenty of justification to hate George Noory for what he did to C2C, and 1,000 pages in the "George Noory Sucks Compendium" is a dead lock cinch.

I hope you guys are right.  I'm not saying it shouldn't peter out.  Noory's suckage should be reported, documented, and commented on until the very end of it.

For that to happen, it seems like someone is going to have to continue listening to the show and post here so we know what he's up, to provide new material and generate new comments. Otherwise we'll be left with the occasional singing performance posted to YouTube, video footage of an appearance in a parade, a new creepy photo of George or his family and other nonsense at the C2C website. 

Even now this thread goes somewhat dormant on the weekends and nights George isn't hosting.  I think a lot depends on whether Art's new show is on at the same time.

I find myself listening less and less.  Unless Knapp is hosting there is no point to subjecting myself to what coast has become.  I do not think that I have listened to more than a few minutes of Noory since he announced his new contract and I cannot listen to J.B. Windbag. 

On a side note, a local radio personality (20 years or something on a talk station) recently retired.  His temporary replacement got a call saying that he sucks, that if he were the permanent host he would loose the caller as a listener.  I was struck that he took the entire call (it went on for a minute or more) without cutting the caller off and then responded that he has had some positive emails concerning his performance and thanked the guy for continuing to listen.  He was pleasant, was not condescending and did not really come across as defensive.  I cannot imagine Noory handling a call like that without getting bent out of shape and cutting the caller off.  How can a local fill-in handle a call with class and grace while a veteran of a decade appears as a bumbling adolescent when subjected to criticism?
