Dead linkie.  The debunking website is Snopes not Snope, which rhymes with dope.
Oh well... Add the "s" and you get a working link. http://www.snopes.com/trump-tower-air/

But I, personally, would not trust a site run by socialists and Marxists. ;)

Snopes is utter shit. I remember when it was caught lying about BLM a few weeks ago.

Shame we didn't know earlier.  This bomb would certainly have ended Trump's rise.  Bet it was planted by that little slut Ivanka.

I did try to google it, but cannot find a story that says they were wrong.  Is it possible that you can give more info?

Some folks consider snopes to be infallible and to them, citing snopes in response to a conservative leaning person should have the same effect as holding up a crucifix to a vampire.  ::)

Whatever you may think of Snopes, pye, they appear to be right about that one.  Trump never had anything to do with Tower Air, and by 1991 he had defaulted on his Trump Shuttle loans and no longer controlled it.

And the last thing I want to do is pick a fight with you, sweetie darling, but a significant number of veterans are pretty fed up with him, including the disabled ones he doesn't want in front of Trump Tower because they're eyesores.

No worries RGG- I've been looking at articles that have explained that Trump was not the owner of Tower Air. His PR people should clean up some of these stories that the overly zealous supporters are circulating. I walked into that one.

Veterans' groups are as divided as any other. Most that I know are supportive of Trump.

I never read The Daily Beast, but I did make an exception this time and I don't think the conflict with vendors is limited to this particular one. A wacky artist friend often told stories of her dealings with the police and getting tickets while street vending. The police got to know her well and even posed for pictures with her.

If Trump has been unfair in his dealings with veterans, he will have an opportunity to make amends if he is elected. The spotlight will be on him and his ability to fulfill his promises.

I'm not dismissing anyone's opinions. We all have to make up our own minds. I waited until the end of the convention to comment because I wanted to hear his speech before I did. Do I think he's perfect?-No. Do I think he can at least get us headed in the right direction?-Yes.

Could I ever vote for Hillary?-NO!!!!

Cheers, sweetie darling.

Well, in all cases that I have looked up, they ended up being right.  I am willing to be corrected.  Could someone please site the instances in which they've been wrong?

There is a lot of bull being thrown around of a political nature.  It is good to have a source that wants to publish the truth.  I've not seen scope as being political.

Not a significant number.  Just a few SJW vets with a blog.  Sidewalk peddlers are sidewalk peddlers, service or not. This fight with the city to enforce peddler laws in Midtown goes back decades.  You want 'em in front of your business?  Last time I was on 5th Ave, there were probably a dozen West Indians peddling from a box for every American, vet or not. Hell, De Blasio is probably bussing 'em to Trump Towers now. And yes, vet here; 68-72.

BTW, Jesse J was on TV today blaming the Dallas and BR cop assassins' on PTSD and the military.

How about just licensing vets?  It would seem an easy enough thing to do.  Some people peddle because they made lousy decisions in life and maybe that's not our problem, but vets sometimes end up, through no fault of their own, not capable of a nine to five and they need a lot of talk therapy, which many do not get at all.  Just drugs which sometimes make the situation worse.

I was just having a little fun with this and had not intended to upset anyone. I'm also not convinced by people on the right who cite only Fox News or other partisan sources to make their arguments. I like certain people on both sides, but we all do need to check information for ourselves.

I don't know who works for snopes but there are questions raised about their objectivity and qualifications by conservatives just as the left questions sites they consider right leaning.

This is the BLM thing I was talking about.
http://www.snopes.com/deray-mckesson-and-the-summer-of-chaos/

They basically try to say since it came from conservative sites it was unreliable and then get this... they say it's wrong because they asked Deray himself and he said it was lie. Which would be like asking a criminal if they committed a crime. Hey Charlie Manson, did you mean to start a race war? No? Cool, I guess that Helter Skelter thing was bullshit.

Meanwhile, go to the Snopes editor's twitter who wrote this piece of shit.

It actually had me going until the "white man choking a black man while screaming."  After that, it seemed odd that an accountant would be slipping papers under a persian rug...

Stories like these should be relegated strictly to the onion so that I know what to take seriously. :D

Votevets has 400,000 supporters, and while it doesn't represent the views of all veterans , that's a significant number.  I've been to NYC and have seen plenty of sketchy street vendors who don't help the real estate values, but we're talking about a small, select group of people who should have all their needs amply provided for by a grateful nation in exchange for the sacrifices they made. They shouldn't have to scrounge a living on the street, and rather than try to have them removed from in front of his building, Trump should have welcomed them and afforded them every possible courtesy. He easily could have given them support by providing stands that conformed to his singular aesthetic sensibilities and three squares a day from his fancy restaurants for what a couple of his housekeepers make in a year. It's hard to imagine anyone objecting to that, and it would have been great for his image. Instead, he chose to be a dick about it for purely selfish reasons.

I havent been to NYC since its been cleaned up but your problem should be more properly be addressed to the government. Sure charity is good but Bush and then rapidly accerelated uitnder Obama VA and military policies is what should be source of scorn and protest. Policy of dismissing on 'grounds' so VA doesnt need to pay, secret waiting lists, jokes about veteran suicides (with no firings,)  slow paperwork etc. Yet, how quickly will Obama give housing, legal aid, mental health aid, medical aid, and even EBT to an illegal or "refugee." I say give or Vets the red-carpet treatment as one of his illegals, or at minimum similiar. Obama's illegals here one facility had sport courts, big flat screen tvs, etc but requests for Spanish Monoply because the donated games in English I heard. Some converted resort. Like some prisons some companies and non-profits making money from Obama's illegals and 'refugees.' I think families can also make $ if they take some in.

They should put it at the start of the article for this exact reason.  I had to listen to it after reading it.  I do love player pianos (have you ever looked to see how the scrolls were made?  Also, the fact that more than a century after the Welte was invented, we still cannot figure out how it was done... How it was recorded.  If you are interested, this shows a lot of the really complicated equipment to make it play and how they think it was recorded.

Thanks for the link, WOTR. Player pianos aka pianola, always fascinated me as a child. We had an old one and I remember that special door that slid open so we could pull down the pedals to operate the pneumatic mechanism and the other sliding door that exposed the roller so you could watch it as it played. It was like magic to a child.  :)

Oh yes and the frame of metal taps that you could engage between the hammers and the strings to change the sound of the notes. Just hearing that one play on the video made me think of old timey music and old movies. Plus, I love well dressed cats.  ;D

The media and SJWs are again redefining veterans' character as they did after Vietnam by portraying them as losers, mental cripples and druggies; victims to be pitied...and, of course, treated by vastly expanding the already 2nd largest institution in the US govt after DoD.  I'm a vet, but I'm not a promoter of the new social cause pushed by the left; veterans' entitlement beyond the GI Bill benefits for education, home loan qualification and real service-related issues.

Why Obama’s half-brother says he’ll be voting for Donald Trump

http://nypost.com/2016/07/24/why-obamas-half-brother-says-hell-be-voting-for-donald-trump/

President Obama’s Kenyan half-brother wants to make America great again â€" so he’s voting for Donald Trump.

“I like Donald Trump because he speaks from the heart,” Malik Obama told The Post from his home in the rural village of Kogelo. “Make America Great Again is a great slogan. I would like to meet him.”

Obama, 58, a longtime Democrat, said his “deep disappointment” in his brother Barack’s administration has led him to recently switch allegiance to “the party of Lincoln.”

The last straw, he said, came earlier this month when FBI Director James Comey recommended not prosecuting Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton over her use of a private e-mail servers while secretary of state.

“She should have known better as the custodian of classified information,” said Obama.

He’s also annoyed that Clinton and President Obama killed Libyan leader Moammar Khadafy, whom he called one of his best friends.

Malik Obama dedicated his 2012 biography of his late father to Khadafy and others who were “making this world a better place.”

“I still feel that getting rid of Khadafy didn’t make things any better in Libya,” he said. “My brother and the secretary of state disappointed me in that regard.”

But what bothers him even more is the Democratic Party’s support of same-sex marriage.

‘I like Donald Trump because he speaks from the heart. Make America Great Again is a great slogan. I would like to meet him.’
- Malik Obama
