    "Up in Smoke" wasn't bad. But each movie that followed was worse than the one before. As much as I enjoy the weed, I despise stoner "comedy". Their movies were for glue sniffers and paint huffers. Somebody who does 17 whip-its before breakfast would enjoy "Still Smokin'

I always thought "Next Movie" was their best piece of cinematic art. Definitely Oscar worthy.

     As is "Born In East LA", which I endured as a VHS doubleheader along with "They Still Call Me Bruce" on July 11, 1988 during a 99 degree day where we hung out with the only kid who had air conditioning. So that was the trade off.

       Seeing movies like that hastened my withdrawal from society and being near people.

       Great call. It got buried with a Labor Day release in '90 and I think it was out of the theaters in a week. I was a movie junkie back then and remember seeing the previews that summer and from those 90 seconds I could discern it was to be avoided. Saw about 5 minutes of it on HBO in 1992. Horrible.

   Straight to Video was in it's infancy in 1990, somehow "Shrimp" avoided that scarlet letter. A shitload of really bad, cheap movies in that era got theatrical release like "Surf Nazis Must Die", "Creepozoids" would have been automatic "straight to video" if they were made in 1993 instead of 1987.

      Lifetime Movies look they were shot over a weekend in Vancouver. No second takes required.

    There's a glut of Canadian made crime dramas that air in the small hours of weekend programming. They come across like a CSI Saskatoon or some shit. I hope Rogen ends up an extra in that realm. He stinks. SARS was a better Canadian import.
