There's only one over-the-top church voice on C2CAM, and that's the person who is the full-time host.

Under the pew perhaps

Sebastian L. Gorka, Ph.D. was a good guest and I always like when legit guests go on C2C because they are often taken aback by the inane questions by Norry (in this case Syrett had it so the questions weren't that bad) and then, again, by the callers. Which didn't disappoint. Some black Muslim type called in about US causing Islamic Jihad (he should've argued that we inflamed it or destabilized regimes that increased it but as Gorka, and even Syrett, mentioned, it was going on well before there even was a country.) And the conspiracy callers which Gorka sort of mocked. It was a decent show.

Yes I heard some of the Gorka interview and thought Rich did a good job with informed questions.  I did like Gorka's point that this foe is against us not so much for what we've done, but for who we are.  This is imho a more accurate view than the common rap that we brought this all on ourselves by (fill in the blank...)

Richard this weekend......Sunday night looks a bit boring.........lately, I have not found his topics interesting.  Tomorrow night shows promise.

Yep I like Richard even though he sounds like a forest gnome.  Will prob. check out tonite's Magnetics n' Pterodactyls show.  Enjoy, Neb!

Hello Zee!

Yes, I am listening....and agree with the gnome characterization!  But, the man asks great questions and is intelligent.  Better than....YOU KNOW WHO!  I am sipping some whiskey on the porch and lamenting the cloudy skies the past three nights....no Perseids sky show for me.

I am thoroughly enjoying this interview; the guy sounds like a relict from a hundred years ago.  Had to find a picture.  Sadly, aside from the Great White Hunter gear he looks perfectly normal.

So Syrett supports the fossil fuel industry.  Maybe I'd be inclined to listen a tad more closely if he could pronounce 'potable' properly.  Is that one of the qualifications to host C2C these days?  At least Dave can perhaps be able to claim that they did not speak English at home when he was a child.

I enjoyed the show because he seemed so serious. I got the impression the locals were trying to get rid of him or laughing behind his back. "Let's see what crazy infested swamp can we get this crazy white guy to go?" "Sure a brontosaurus but you want to hear about the giant spider?" Sort of like how the natives would tell the Spanish etc- hey the next tribe over has lots of gold, hey, see that tall mountain there? Inside a cave is a bunch of gold why don't you head over there.

Thanks for that zeebo.  Now that's how I'll envision him.  ;D

LOL!!!!  That seems probable.  I too still enjoyed the show.  ;)

Hahaha never thought of that; you're probably right!

Our hero stars in this documentary I'm trying to watch, but the sun-guilt is too intense for me to get all the way through it.  I like how the natives keep talking about the creature's frill or spines but the artists stubbornly refuse to put them on the animations, probably because it will look less like a diplodocus.

BTW the guy seems to get some of the funding for his expeditions from the young-earth crowd, who'd love to find a dinosaur, too.  Woo makes strange bedfellows.

I have hard time getting past the voice.  Noory sounds like an illiterate, recovering alcoholic, from the Bowery, Wade sounds like a wannabee valley girl, and Syrett, well, NPR would welcome him with open arms.  Art had the best voice of all and Knapp is pretty good, too.  You'd think for a venue where voice is the predominate characteristic, they could at least get that right.  I guess the ideal replacement for Ross Mitchell is Daffy Duck or Elmer Fudd, if I look at what the choices are for broadcast hosts.

Indeed. But I like guests like this and glad there are still intrepid 'Great White Hunters' braving the wilds of the Dark Continent (insert stock footage of African animals in here.)  ;) I like the idea that there might be large undiscovered animals or dinosaurs still around and I know new species of stuff is found all the time- but usually small creatures, insects, fungi, bacteria, etc. So I don't buy it except maybe in the ocean depths. But a "Lost World" would be awesome! But I think he is being played by the natives to gain some income for their villages ("here come crazy white guy, remember to tell him about the 7 foot bat that came to the village last week right after he left...let see if we can get him to climb that tall tree- tell him the big bat roosts there.")

Uncle Duke

I'm surprised no one has commented on Syrett's interview Sat night with the co-authors of the book about Howard Hughes.  Of all the "celebrity faked his own death" stories (Elvis, Andy Kaufman, Michael Jackson, James Dean, etc), their theory about Hughes successfully doing so is the most believable I've heard.

Pretty good interview tonite with Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson.  I'm sort of coming around to Syrett.  I'm upgrading his rating to neutral.

There are times that he comes back after the bumper music and makes meaningful comments or adds a tidbit about the band or the history of the song. Most of the time I enjoy it. But sometimes they drag on and take even more time away from the interview with the guest. A delicate balance I guess.

craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap ...i forgot about that

I like the guest's Robert Johnson story.  I learned so far:

1. Don't drink from an open whiskey bottle.

2. Don't beat a big black snake with a stick in Clarksdale, Mississippi.

3. Don't carry around baggies of dirt from The Crossroads!

Respect for Rich just went up another notch, he just played my fave Beatles song "Hey Bulldog".   8)

Same here, zeeb. Great show. Anderson sounds lucid as ever. I'm gonna start eating some of those peppers he mentioned.

Uncle Duke

Grabbed my trusty CC Witness this morning to listen to Anderson/Patterson while mowing my yard, only to discover the local C2C affiliate reran the debate, then had a three hour local call in show to discuss it.  Guess I'll have to pick up this show on YouTube in a few days.

if anyone has an audio of the show..please pass it on

Wow no post on the RS thread for a month.  I'm listening tonite, pretty good show on future warfare, and later some crop circle doin's.  I gotta say I kind of find the guy relaxing.  He asks some competent questions and more importantly doesn't bug me with any annoying idiosyncrasies.  I'm upgrading my rating to neutral plus.

Hi Zee!

Yes, I listened last night.  As I have said in past posts.....I have no complaints about Syrett.  He is intelligent and asks good questions....and....follows up well.  I'll be on board tonight which looks like a good program too!

Not much into crop circles and heard her as a guest somewhere else recently but enjoyed the first guest Lt. Col (RET) Maginnis on the future of warfare, the Muslim problem, and then when he started a bit into occult/satanic stuff that goes on in DC. Syrette asked good questions and was less NPR-like in his voice. It was a good show.
ps: why did Richard not mention the possible connection with these earthquakes in NZ, Argentina, Italy, etc and the upcoming "Super Moon?" Coincidence or Jim Berkland, RIP, was right?

I listened to Syrett last night about biblical stuff and Cooper.
Richard seems to do his homework before interviewing a guest.  I like him.

Yep was another good show imho.  I've grown to like him too, even though he still kind of sounds like an apprentice magician, living in some candle-scented forest hut.

Hah!

Richard Syrett is Casey Kasem, as Morgana Le Fay, on Coast to Coast a.m., occasionally.
