I’m no infectious disease expert but it seems to me that distinguishing corona infection from antibody presence is a critical factor in squelching the medical emergency which is creating social and financial catastrophe. The current tests being used in the U.S. to diagnose infections with the new coronavirus disease, COVID-19, are different from antibody tests. The former look for the new coronavirus's genes in samples taken from people's noses and throats, which indicate that a person is actively infected with the virus, SARS-CoV-2. The latter look for antibodies that a person's immune system develops to fight the new coronavirus. Such antibodies stick around in a person's blood, so they can show if a person has been infected with COVID-19 in the past.

Antibody tests are important for a number of reasons. They can show what percentage of the population has ever been infected with the virus (even if the people aren't currently infected) â€" a key piece of information, given that many COVID-19 infections may be mild, and thus undiagnosed. By knowing how many individuals have had the virus, researchers can calculate a more accurate fatality rate and have a better idea of the percentages of cases that are mild versus severe.

Researchers could also use antibody tests to screen health care workers and identify those who are already immune to the virus, which would likely mean they could care for patients without the risk of being infected, the authors said.

Mainstream “Science” has been corrupted by the left and their globalist communism. One can be pro science and be against scientists. Carl Sagan is the perfect example of this. The original Cosmos was a great series. The history of science and study of the cosmos was inspiring and encouraged millions to pursue the sciences. His opinions on climate and politics were laughable. Constantly harping on the threat of nucYOUler war because as we all remember “Reagan wanted WW3”. Sagan single handedly started the global warming garbage. Citing Venus as his primary model, a planet who’s atmosphere is 90x as dense as Earths, and is made up of 96.5% co2. Earths atmosphere is .04% co2.

The communist left will never complete its takeover of science because in the end it’s evidence based. Not hypothetical dire predictions based.

This is a Big PROBLEM in my book too. Let's see how this 1984 simulation plays out though. I think we can "listen" without OBEYING> Do not consent. Take your measures as you normally would. Use this time to prepare for the Great Awakening. People are being forced to wake up. Now, I should add, that even the "elected officials" give me pause with their "advice" and opinions. New York City’s morgues are nearing capacity, according to a department official and a second person familiar with the situation.

Officials were told that morgues in the city are expected to reach capacity next week, per the briefing. I am screwed.

While finishing my regular "morning constitutional" I used up the last half-roll of toilet paper from the pallet of TP I bought last week.  And, while trying to "clear the chamber" a clog seems to have developed that the plunger will not clear, I think the line might be fouled.  So hopefully, after I get past the 14 military checkpoints between myself and CostCo, get through the 100+ person line to share the store with 9 other lucky shoppers there is still a pallet of TP left, and hopefully a sewer snake.  This clog seems like it is a deep one...

Hmm, maybe I need another 2000lbs of dry oatmeal too.  I seem to be about 3/4 of the way through the 1000lbs I got last Tuesday, as well...

I am getting a bit low on the "emergency stores" budget, did I see someone mention that I can expect a $12,000 check soon?  That would really help get my "emergency stores" to a level that I am comfortable with, maybe I will renew my Netflix account too.  Have to have something to watch while I digest my mac&cheez and oats, wonder if there is any Gas-X left in the pharmacy section at CostCo?

If I leave now (9:30am local) I should be back from my "emergency supply" run by 7pm at the earliest.

This is huge planting season.  And we are semi-quarantined and many store shelves are bare.  Yet no one seems to recommend victory gardens.

Just got back from a grocery run. The cashiers at the store I went to were getting a little too into enforcing their distancing requirements. It didn’t help that they literally looked like Ralph Steadman drawings and had the personality to boot. Let the Nazi flow! :

P.S. It was also hard to find zinc supplements at a reasonable price. One place was sold out completely and the other place wanted too much but even they only had one brand left.
