Muzzie boy was the only one with a fucking gun. That's the problem. Sitting ducks. If he wasn't somebody could've shot his ass and sent him to his worthless God. There's your 'defensive weapon'. Enough said.

He was in a gay bar, everyone else had a 'fucking gun' ready to go off, but he just had an ordinary one that fired bullets. You aren't the only one who has come up with this analysis, and it doesn't sound any less bone-headed with each repetition. If everyone else had a gun, statistically speaking a proportion of them will also be unbalanced honest 'murricans, or even 'muzzie boys'. If you level the playing field it means levelling it for the bad guys as well as the good ones.

Also, maybe your idea of a good night out is to go armed to the teeth, but most people would rather enjoy themselves without the worry that they might get their heads blown off.

I think what some people want is having the unknown potential of someone, anyone, carrying a concealed weapon. Just in case this situation arises. I don't think everyone wants to be armed to the teeth, so to speak. A 'gun free zone' sign isn't going to stop a shooter. Laws definitely won't. Armed people will.

I call this 'The argument from Bruce Willis'. Yes, there is a possibility it might work. But, as I said, a totally open situation where everyone has access to the same gear means that you will also have to factor in that there will be people in the mix who are up to no good. In that situation you would be very unwise to ever leave the house without a weapon - whether walking the dog, taking the kids to school, or even out in the yard watering the lawn. I don't think the odds are in your favour, that's all, but for many people a part of their thinking has been paralysed where they find even the thought of it an assault on their liberty rather than a practical measure to prevent tragedy.

Speaking this morning, Obama is blaming a "disturbed individual" having easy access to guns. FBI Director Comey said...the killer was "a sick individual".  So there we have it, the poor lad simply wasn't in control.

Mr. Vashtar, Do you really think that the people who are up to no good won't carry a gun regardless of the law?  I guess I'm having a difficult time following you here.  There are guns 'o plenty here in America and I don't see that changing anytime soon.  The thought of any and every ragtag out there packing heat is kind of scary but to be honest, in this current climate, I'd rather be mixed up in the gunfight at the O.K. Corral rather than scrambling to find cover for my family and I when some individual with malicious intent comes storming in a'-blazin'.  I wouldn't call that "Bruce Willis," but "just trying to survive."

Hillary is speaking now.  She says the man's mind was poisoned by a virus.  She is actually blaming ISIS and calling for more bombing with our "partners."  She.  Is.  Speaking.  In.  Her slowest.  Most   Reasoned.  Tone.

Interesting.

Comey also repeated the "procedures were followed" line in reference to their closing their earlier investigations as though that's some comfort.  I think it's precisely those procedures that are in question.  I'm no expert in all of this, but I'd like to imagine that buying a gun like that might be grounds for reopening a closed investigation.

I fear this will end up an unacknowledged bureaucratic failure.  I hear the repeated list of agencies responding, each with their million-dollar mobile command post, and just shake my head.

Six minutes later it's on to gun grabbing, to great applause.

Hungry vampire that she is her thirst for power forces her to work both sides of the street- Those who sell arms globally and those who wish to disarm America. Wait... Can't it be both? Correction; She's actually only working one side of the street. Nevermind.

It was a relief that Trump didn't spin his head too fast to lose his wig as he tried to make political gainsay with his crass dig at Obama because he hadn't used the exact wording that would satisfy the Trump brethren. I wonder if the more right wing Trump supporters might have had a smirk at the target in Orlando and have a little mutter of 'Sure he's a mussie scum bag, but at least he got those goddam faggots'.. My enemy's enemy?

The reports I've seen say that there was an armed cop working at the club that night, possibly off duty, and that he was the first to shoot it out with the terrorist. Then all the police, including SWAT, descended on the place.

So anyone debating the merits of having guns on scene should account for this fact, assuming that's what happened.

EDIT:

Something else to consider. A bunch of armed people at the club wouldn't have been much of a deterrent, since the guy was expecting to die and only wanted to take as many as possible with him. So he still would've been there shooting. It's down to whether more people with guns in this situation would have saved lives or cost more lives.

It is all the fault of the Christians. I can't make this shit up. It takes the ACLU. Never let a good crisis go to waste.

http://dailycaller.com/2016/06/12/aclu-lawyers-blames-christians-for-orlando-terror-attack/

It had nothing to do with Daesh's call for lone wolf attacks during Ramadan or an "Islamist Scholar's" speech in Orlando saying that killing homosexuals would be a compassionate end to their existence.

It had nothing to do with the fact that this shooter had been investigated twice for terroristic threats and ties to a suicide bomber.

Now his ex-wife comes out and says he beat her?  Why didn't she press charges?  If he had been convicted of domestic violence, he would have not been allowed to pass the background check for buying a weapon.

The FBI is by definition an investigative institution and rarely prevents a first instance crime (unless they've set someone up). I'd like to know if they're required to share data on suspected radical Islamists with local LE.  It's ironic that he was denied when he tried to buy body armor, but was able to walk into a gun shop and walk out with an AR15 and a ton of ammo after being investigated for terrorism ties three separate times. And his mosque invited a foreign guest speaker who promotes killing homosexuals, and had one guy join Al Nusra and become a suicide bomber.

The threat can be dealt with, but not with blinders on and our shoelaces together.

Wow, I hadn't heard about the body armor.  Was the attempt to buy body armor recent?

It seems there's at least one hole in gun-buying protocol that could be closed without upsetting either side in the gun-rights debate.

Ifs and buts, and pots and pans.. Roughly what do you think the chances are of a Muslim women being beaten by her Muslim husband being taken seriously might be? There were over 350 mass shootings in the USA in 2015, Mass shootings mean more than four killed or injured. Yeah, a Muslim wife is really going to go to the cops about her deranged husband. She was later rescued by her family. It didn't stop him getting access to a machine gun though. No problem, nothing to see.

Is it time to revisit the unthinkable? If not, when? Not saying it`s called for, but what measures do we need to now consider that previously were not on the table? We should keep in mind that Korematsu v. United States ruled that internment camps were constitutional. Is it time to go completely Roman?

Why do you need to go that far? It's clear it's less than 1% of American muslims that are radicalized. Why can't law enforcement actually do it's fucking job and nab suspects. Virtually every American Muslim domestic attack has come from people they already suspected, were watching but didn't want to hurt liberal fee fees in rounding up. Grab these pigs who are radicalized, deport them, curb immigration from regions that are radicalized and investigate people with ties to radical islam. Fucking simple. Why do people go to volume 11 assuming conservatives want to start gassing people?

And roughly what do you think the cost of (at the very least) two man/woman surveillance team 24/7 on each suspect? That's suspect, not someone who has any evidence against them. I can see it now; the panting ire of those who think government spending is a cancer.

If the government treated Radical Islam like organized crime, this shit would have been already stamped out.

It most certainly was not.  If you can't see politics as a rational discourse to solve problems, you belong with the reprehensible hacks on both sides whose only concern is the equivalent of the old "is it good for the Jews?"

Why do you need to watch them 24/7? Why do you immediately go Orwellian? Especially when these suspects already pop up through current investigation in a liberal fee fee world.

By the way, I strongly disagree with most of your opinions but I appreciate you taking a break yesterday when tension was high.

All the report said was "recently".  The store simply said "No".  It would be doubly ironic if this was the same place that sold him the rifle.
