Seeing it and saying it aren't hard to do. Dealing with it effectively, that's hard. We've yet to have a president that's been able to do it, certainly going back as far as Reagan. So frankly, while I'd give this or any president credit for being able to call out Islamic terrorism without also encouraging war on all of Islam, it wouldn't give me much satisfaction.

What I want to see is a workable plan to defeat this enemy, success being measured by their inability to pull off these attacks on an at-will basis. Defeat the myth of invincibility that sustains and attracts their supporters and these terrorist organizations might still survive in some form, but without the teeth they have now. It's a multi-front war which we're losing on every front, including the all-important propaganda war.
