The murder and rape rates in some areas are worse than the ME but nobody seems to care. There are protest, auto-defensas, etc but so much corruption and, for whatever reason, unless it crosses the open-border (and even then often) it is not mentioned in our media. It is, frankly, bizarre. We bitch about human rights abuses half-way around the world- meanwhile a few miles away there are thousands of missing women, school children are buried in mass graves, people are beheaded or hung from bridges, journalists are murdered and tortured???!

Actually there were some 'misunderstandings' about pressure-cookers I recall in internet posts, having them, etc. Of course, being a known radical Muslim was a no-go until after the bombing/shootings, per usual, and then the FBI 'settling the issue' killing another associated Muslim during an interview. Yeah, we spend billions on snooping on citizens, our allies, and, supposedly, our enemies but if you are a known Muslim....go ahead and afterwards we will tell folks that "he was on our radar" or some such.

the problem is, an entire generation of "comedians" decided they should try and be the next bill hicks.  unfortunately, they forgot that hicks was possibly one of the funniest comedians ever.  you can't just get on a stage and rant about how the world ought to be.  you have to be funny in the course of doing so.  this new breed of PC comedians pontificating about social justice... they're so heavy and take themselves so seriously that they're killing stand up comedy.  how can one possibly be funny while navigating a minefield of trigger avoidance?
