Hmm..  If you had the choice, would you go with cryonics or would you rather have your consciousness DLed into some sort of robot with good mobility? Or neither?

Neither. When I am done, I am done. Plus there is stuff in my head that needs to stay in my head.

Turn me into a software agent and upload me into the Cloud baby!

I'd go for the android and/or bio-enhanced body upgrade while I was at it.  Anyone read Old Man's War?  I'd go for one of those bods.  :)

Is this a prerecorded interview? Just turned it on

Well, I don't imagine robots feel pain...  so ...

Dude they can defrag your hard drive, & recycle those private bits before the download lol.

Same.  I have no desire to live forever.

Robits could be programmed to feel pain. If they can be programmed to feel something they are picking up, they can be programmed to feel pain.

Maybe we could have a subscription service.  Renew every hundred years, or let the payment lapse.

Hate to bring this up but, Walks, if you call in, maybe ask about the rumors of them kicking Ted Williams' head around (not cool, not cool at all), before they put it in the tank, if you dare.   :o

Dr. MD MD

It's really kind of a literal translation of Christian prophecy about what happens when we die. You would be literally waiting to be brought back to life at some indefinite point in the future when eternal life will be possible for you.

But they don't have to go poo......

That's a point in the robots favor

I don't trust an algorithm to determine what I consider private.

And then I would be a shell of my real self. Doomed to make all the same mistakes all over again.

Well I don't think they kicked it per se.....   I think they whacked it with a wrench to knock the tuna can off that was stuck to it.
That was at Alcor [different group] and I think they were transferring the head to a different tank.

The book Frozen describes that incident

Lilith

I'm glad I won't be around to see people having to deal with decisions like this.

Alright, just got home from work-what's happening on the show?

Pretty much my sentiments, altho if I could try out the robot thing for a short while, that might be cool. I don't really have any big problem with checking out when my time's up tho.

Lilith

Will people with mental disabilities be given the same options as a mentally healthy person?

Cool. Much better version. The book goes on my list.

I don't think I've heard a Dr call a person a "patient" in a couple decades.  I think they call people "clients" now.

It is a freaky book.  Some of the folks described in the book are pretty wild.
Be warned there was legal action after the book was published, so don't take it
as gospel.
