What is it about these radio shows that makes everyojne except Heather and sNoory get sick?
Get well, Amy.

Getting paid to show up every day.

:'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Stick a fork in this show. It's done.

Heather wins again.

Amy got heat sickness and is dealing with that. She'll be back.

As far as paying, I hope to make shows money and myself in the future. That's the plan....

JesusJuice

Amy should just do what Whitley Strieber does and have a once a week podcast with a free version and a longer paid version and links to weird stories a few times a week and a maybe a journal that gets updated once a month.

Just do this.  www.unknowncountry.com

From a network point of view, live radio is where it's at but I can see the appeal of shows doing podcasts only. Amy is free to do as she pleases with her show. I don't own it or any show on the network. I never want to own anyone's show because I think that's the wrong way to do it and honestly fucks the shows up.

This is the Mysterious Universe model as well. Seems to work quite well.

I can't believe Amy didn't make one of those air conditioners. She could make 3 of them in less then 30 minutes and do it in under $30

She has AC for the studio now. It was just a day too late. She'll be okay though.

You are correct that model does very well.

I can appreciate the effort of anyone who tries to make a show work. Yes, you have to be interesting and have interesting topics and guests...but you also have to be likable and consistent...all those things together are very hard to find.

Getting paid to show up every day.

Sad to say, that's one of the major drawbacks for me as far as the subscribers method goes.

And the well-above-average smartness doesn't hurt either.   :)

Sure hope so!   Michael Vara has "It’s About TIME: Incident at Fort Polk" as a topic tonight and Rense has
Big Jim Fetzer on to talk about the Orlando False Flag.    In other words, I'm missing Amy's show  :P

I can be very patient when waiting for quality programs.  Certainly not many of those around.
Please take care of yourself Amy. I will be here whenever you are ready to return.  Best

I suppose you should probably write her and request a refund of your contribution from this month...

I will add my voice to the "get well soon" crowd.  I look forward to hearing the next program.

Cool!  Good on ya man. ;)

I may funpost and make the occasional controversial statement but I want you know in, all seriousness, that I still believe in you, Amy.

I misplaced a comma. I'm embarrassed. Amy is going to see this.

Update on Amy On The Radio. Please read: http://amyontheradio.com/2016/06/27/returning-to-air/

Glad she's working it out. Feel better and all the best, Amy! I'll be listening.  ;)

( Amy )

TL;DR version:

- Temporary show schedule will be LIVE Wednesday, Thursday, Fridayâ€"still 8PM-11PM Central; Replays and pre-recorded fresh content planned for Mondays and Tuesdays (same time)

- Looking for anyone trainable who is willing to be a volunteer associate show producer. You don’t have to make calls, as most guest communications will be conducted via e-mail and social media.

- Returning with ETA â€" 2 months for full show LIVE, 5 days a week.

Come hell, high heat, tornadoes, and everything elseâ€" the show will absolutely go on.

A recent entry to the digest of obstacular BS: after last night's electrical storms, my modem now power cycles itself every 5 minutes.

I don't believe in curses, fate, juju, illuminati gremlins, blessings, angels, aliens, or whathaveyou---but in my frustration, I'd like to bake a few of these.

On a happier note:

- The new window AC unit is very nice. Huge thanks again to everyone who helped make that happen!

- An acoustic engineer has volunteered to help me re-purpose some leftover insulation to improve the studio since the window AC install. Have a few new panels up now and it's already sounding better than it did before!

- As I've been resting-up, another filmmaker has volunteered to help me put ideas to paper about the 1 year horror movie challenge. Would like to film over three days as early as this Fall someplace in the Ozarks and will be sending some other people out to do location scouting soon.

- Early July, will be bringing on a group of guests to talk about a major cosmology project, perhaps bigger than the recent Tabby's Star Kickstarter. I was asked to provide feedback in the early phases of the project's campaign development. It will most likely get major mainstream press coverage. Going to be an awesome interview!

- Lots of major guests in the works, in spite of recent setbacks.

Again, could use a few people to help me keep up with guest communications and outreach via e-mail and social media. Already have tons of guest suggestions (I'm quite behind on these contacts), but keep them coming!
