Some of these great capitalist companies are not. They collude in cartel like activity and take so much in corporate welfare, regulatory capture, and donate lots of money to both parties. I don't see why anyone would be against labels but also why anyone would believe the label would be accurate?

Good luck with that under WTO and the upcoming TPP, etc etc. Ignoring whatever potential health concerns what about other concerns, like labor or wage concerns? Or human rights abuses? Or maybe I want to buy locally grown, raised, or made things to support my local economy or for aesthetic reasons (want to keep small farmers or local mfg around.) We should be able to know from what country an item originates.
