Great Show Amy!

Time for me to go watch Slacker.

WildCard

I think I heard that song on my NPR affiliate today.

Dr. MD MD

Another great show, Amy!

Amy, you mentioned what a big Poe fan you are. Have you ever read Eureka: A Prose Poem? It's noted for predicting several scientific discoveries yet to come. It might make a good topic of discussion, or at least part of a larger discussion about scientific discoveries in general.  ;)

That sounds like something I'd like to read, Doc.  And, yes, that sounds like an excellent topic.

Great fun, great show Amy.  Thanks for putting up with me and my Skype issues

Thanks for listening everyone and calling!  ;D

Open Lines on a Tuesday?  Makes me wonder if she's having a hard time getting guests.

I satellited this to Amy. Not sure if it's as much fun as wormholing

Oh yes.

I'm wanting to have several historians on to discuss Poe, probably over several shows spaced throughout the year.

Hope Amy feels better I do know she had to visit the anesthesiologist before her surgical procedure. This could explain the open lines show last night which I called into =). Really enjoyed talking to Amy. She is well spoken, and does a great job of listening to her callers patiently.

'Allo Bellgabbers!

Just checking in. Half awake. Procedure went well, but I'm still quite sore from it.

Once again, thanks for all of your support. <3

Will be back on LIVE tomorrow to discuss critical thinking, pseudoscience, psychology, and tricks of the mind.
We'll also be discussing the importance of evidence-based practices in both mental and physical health, as well as the Secular Therapy Project.

Guest Page - Dr. Caleb Lack (Clinical Psychologist, Researcher, Professor, & Author)

Thanks, Jordan! Glad you enjoyed it.

I just had a ton of nerve blocks today in my abdomen. Nothing serious, but they sedated me for it. I was awake and still felt most everything.

Allo... With you, I am yet...

Glad to hear that things went well and I hope to be home in time tomorrow to catch your show.  It should be interesting.  Are you bringing on 73's on to discuss reasonable nutrition?

A discussion including critical thinking is not your standard radio fare.

***Edit- just in case people have already forgot where my greeting originated.  What ever happened to Beezebubbelah?

Hmm... if 73's would like to come on to discuss nutrition at some point, that would be awesome.
I'm having a guest on next week to discuss GMO's.

I'll also be having a very cool GP at some point who has agreed to come on to talk about public health. She's a tattooed horror fan like myself.  8)

Of all those, I think GMO's are the most interesting.  I try to keep up on it.  I am surprised at how many people in my neighborhood have no idea what I'm talking about when I bring them up.

Check out this cool hawk I filmed on top of my car this morning.

Really strange. Two of them live in the neighborhood now. I've only ever seen them like this in Autumn and pretty far out into the country.

Here's another still of it.

I'm flattered. I am actually not yet an RD, I have to complete a 1-year internship program and then pass the exam. So I would not label myself an "expert" quite yet. But if you want to interview an RD-in-training, I'm here.

My more interesting story, all narcissistic tendencies aside, would be my successess and struggles with weight loss and my running after heart surgery. I lost 115 lbs by eating balanced meals and tracking, no gimmicks. I then ran several half marathons and a full marathon before needing heart surgery to repair a leaky mitral valve. Following that, I have had terrible struggles with breathing difficulties, arrythmias and various odd chest pains that I've overcome en route to running 3 more half marathons post-op! I'm training for a fall marathon now. And still maintaining that 100+ lb weight loss from 2012. 😀

Holy crap. That's amazing! These are stories ppl need to hear.

To be honest, anybody who labels themselves an "expert" in anything, I'm uninterested in having them on as a guest.
RD-in-training is just fine. You have fresh knowledge to offer.  8)

How long has Amy been a clandestine agent? She masks it pretty well. Kudos.
